  1. Kristo scoring potential will get him to the next level, as soon as he isn't a liability on defense in the Pros. That's what I'm reading about him. Miller really hasn't scored for the Rangers, but he sure had a great 1'st impression, scoring 2 in his first game. That bought him another 20. Now is it better for him to play 5 - 6 minutes for the Rangers, or play 20 for the Wolfpack in the AHL.
  2. Biz - I was compairing Miller & Kristo to each other NOW. I'm a fan of the Rangers so I follow both of them pretty close. I was hoping the Kristo would get a shot right away at the beginning of the year. But his play away from the puck was not as strong defensively. Miller was stronger on the boards. Miller seems to be the bubble boy for the Rangers this year, and Kristo will probably be right behind him. Now Kristo is leading the Wolfpack in points and goals, very much how Nelson did for the Sound Tigers last year. If he keeps scoring goals, he'll get his call up sooner or later.
  3. The way it reads in Calgary is that Tamboleavi wanted to play with his best friend, on the leading team in juniors. So he forced them to trade for him, and they did. It's easier playing against younger, smaller, opponents. That's a given looking at his first game. He just wasn't ready for this level of hockey, it's easier to play with your buddies and not have to go to school. By the looks of it he checked out weeks ago.
  4. 4life - can't blame Miller. He bolted after his stock rose as a #1 pick. I'm not sure the Rangers didn't sway his decision, even though they said it was up to him. I'm just saying Miller had some options that played in his favor. He got to play for the Rangers at Traverse City tournament with the rest of the Prospects, and attend a Pro Training Camp. He plays his 1 year in junior, then started his entry level contract the next year playing in the AHL, and got bumped up and played 26 games for the Rangers. Do I forgive him leaving us at the last minute NO. Has he produced a lot of points for the Rangers not really. Personally I think he would have been better served playing at UND for 2 years. However, Kristo played 4 years, and Miller has outplayed him so far this year, and is again on the Rangers roster. So I'll have to tip my hat to Miller, for making the jump, and getting his money sooner, plus his next $1M contract will be 2 years sooner.
  5. Good choice. Will his team play the Force?
  6. He would have been a good player for the Sioux, but lets face it he was no Parise, Toews, or Oshie.
  7. It looks like he will do better playing against 16-19 year old in juniors in Canada. His numbers will look better playing 80 games a year, he scored a goal and 3 assists in his first game. He will be allowed to attend the Rangers training camp and play for them at Traverse City, which I don't think the NCAA allows. But will he add the muscle to play at the next level? Even the Rangers said he would need 4 years to fill out. Now they will have to sign him in 2 if he's ready. Time will tell. Miller fast track to the NHL, and he is getting his larger paychecks sooner. So you really can't blame him as a 20 year old. His next contract will be 2 years sooner had he played for the Sioux.
  8. Is what it is. Let's face it. Every game I watched him, he just looked like he wasn't strong enough to play NCAA hockey. I've lost count how many times he went to the bench with his tail between his legs after getting hit.
  9. It depends these tickets where the toughest to find EVER, but I wouldn't be surprised if 1000 UND fans are there!!!
  10. YES! YES! YES! Wife just called, and said she found 2 tickets for Saturday right behind the net!!! New meaning to "The Good Wife"
  11. ..... there's always "F U Gophers!!!" My luck there will be kids in front of me, I wouldn't be able to shout it from the roof tops!! There's always alot of Green & White at this game, so we should all be on the same page. Is there a bar where everyone is meeting before the game?
  12. Who has tickets for this game? How many Sioux Fans got scalped to see the Sioux Sweep the Rodents this weekend?
  13. There's always "YOU WONT PLAY US" followed up by " YOU WILL LOSE"
  14. Siouxfans going to the Gopher hole this weekend - What is your chant going to be when the rodent fans yell "Where's your Logo?" You know it's coming.....
  15. Tickets in hand today boys. 4th row for the weekend.
  16. Gregoire will play for the highest bidder, and you can't blame him. Instead of an entry level contract around 500-600K, he will get something around 1-1.5k for a couple of years. Now he could start for a number of teams, now does he want to play for an Islander/Oiler/Thrasher/ "Jets" team, I would think if the offer is there he would. He just wants a one way contract, so he gets paid NHL dollars regaurdless where he plays. It would be fun to follow him if he played for the Jets. I would be happy if the Rangers called him, even though he would probably start in Hartford, with his hands he would soon rise to the big club. It's pretty simple, score and you will get called up!!! I agree with Goon, it won't be to long before the Islanders / Oilers become contenders. If you keep getting the top first round pick, it makes a difference.
  17. DUH ...... this is the Winner !!!! I'll take the t-shirt, the poster, the flag that flies from the car window. . . . and anything else you put this on!!!!
  18. Every Sioux Player Needs 8th Ring "DUDE WE HAVE A DELL" FIGHTING SIOUX HOCKEY THERE WILL BE BLOOD!!! UND vs UND it could happen. Engelstad South Home of the Fighting Sioux Welcome to Sioux Territory!!! Sioux 8 Wolverines 21 = Hobey Baker This is the year Boys!!!
  19. I say Sioux Sweep. There is to much talent, and to much speed for the Bears to contain them all for 3 periods. That said any goalie can stand on his head for a day, and stop them / slow them down. But I still say SWEEP!!!
  20. Easy now. Fargo / Moorhead is as close as Grand Forks / East Grand Forks. Alot of top end talent from Moorhead has played for the Sioux and are still playing in the NHL. That being the way it is, I don't blame the best players wanting to play for Moorhead. They have had better coaches, better training system, and an all around better tradition on that side of the river. The top players want to play for the top programs, reguardless if it is high school or college. If you want to get to the "next step", you have to play for a program who helps get you there.
  21. We are going to need all the help we can get. Sioux are behind 40/60 to the Bruins.
  22. Duncan on Friday VandeVelde-Saterday. Let's go Sioux!!!!!!!!!
  23. I was thinking the same thing, for around my poker table. Then I would have to get a Fighting Sioux cloth stitched for the felt. Hmmmmm. . . . that would be so cool. I can almost see it now.
