There ya go, using facts that are readily available to anyone who wants to do a bit of research. By doing that, you'll only make Woog and certain Gopher fans more confused.

This just in: The NCAA is considering a new rule that would require Siamese twins to play on the same team.
-
Don't say that. It makes you sound more desperate than Sweeny.

My big question about the Huskies is this: How long can they rely on hot goaltending? If they don't have that, they don't have much. If the Huskies' goalies can keep up that pace for most of the season, good for them. If not, SCSU losses could pile up in a hurry.
-
You're misinterpreting that photo. Look at Prpich's right arm. He's forcing the SCSU player to ride on his back.

Two words for you, RW77: Maple Toft.

Your's truly will be Pat Sweeny's guest between the second and third periods of Saturday night's St. Cloud game. I will discuss my exciting career as the arena reporter in Grand Forks for US College Hockey Online. Obviously, they are either very desperate for guests or Pat likes to talk to other people named Pat. This is my big break. Letterman and Leno can't be far behind. By the way, I am old! Plus, I have a face and body made for radio and a voice made for the print media. You've been warned.

There's an article in today's Grand Forks Herald about a teepee that was set up in front of Memorial Union on campus being disturbed. Why is this even news?

...and then score some more.

See the girls with the dresses so tight Give you love if the price is right Um, yeah.

First he admits to watching Chicago and now this. It's time to start a rumor that the Sicatoka has been abducted by aliens.

Here's a link to the full AP story. Here's a link to the Chicago Tribue story. Note that the Trib says there were 200 people at the meeting, not 500. Here's a link to an editorial in the University of Illinois student newspaper, the Northern Star. This is the cartoon that ran with the editorial:

Maybe Rush could get Tammy Faye to sing a duet with him, too.
-
But how's Mapletoft doing? That's what I really need to know.
-
We all do. We just don't like to admit it.
-
I could be wrong, but I believe the music played during warm-ups is selected by the Sioux players.
-
I already know what Ed would name it: The Bush League Line.
-
Hey, I didn't say it was a good name. I was agreeing with YaneA that it's a name we'd rather avoid. Here are a few more possibilities: Assembly Line

Live from Lola's Authentic Northern Italian Restaurant in beautiful downtown Grand Forks. Tim Hennessy and Scott Swygman are the hosts with UND hockey coach Dean Blais. Blais talked for less than a half hour tonight because he was on with Lennon and the basketball coaches. Next week, the show will be a half hour longer. TH opens by talking about the Sioux sweeping

There's a tendency in sports to assume that what happened last season will also happen this season. Who knows? Maybe the Gophers will again rise from the ashes and capture their third straight national championship. Maybe the Sioux will again run out of gas after a fast start. I think there are enough differences between WCHA teams to assure that this season's outcome won't resemble last season's. If some people want to believe that Blais is still coaching last year's Sioux team, that's fine with me. Let them find out the hard way.
-
I don't know if this is the problem, but last season, I'd frequently see people moving roadblocks to drive around them or driving up on the sidewalks to park in restricted areas. There was never anyone around to stop it from happening.
-
He called you a lawyer? Heck, I'd be upset too.
-
Are you saying that the universities -- not the WCHA -- pay the referees? Because according to the NCAA rules, it's the referee who determines the goals and assists. It's clear from reading the rules that while there is some flexibility built in to help make certain that players are properly credited for goals and assists, they're also designed to minimize the possibility of cheating. As has been pointed out, any changes made to the official scoring must be agreed to by representatives of both teams. In addition, the rules state that the official score sheet must checked and signed by the referee. Furthermore, the video technology built into the new Engelstad Arena makes it one of the most difficult arenas in the league in which to hide cheating on scoring. Certainly it's a simple matter to check replays of the goals scored during the North Dakota-Minnesota series to see if there's anything to Woog's claim. Unfortunately, as TC has already pointed out, "right or wrong," everybody knows this happens in Grand Forks. I'm sure that when TC and many other Gopher fans read Wong's comment about Panzer's phantom assists, they accepted it without question because "everybody knows" it happens at UND. Why let facts get in the way? Here are the facts about Panzer's 2000-2001 season during which he scored 26 goals and had 55 assists for 81 points. Of those 55 assists, 33 (60%) were scored on the road. During that season, the Sioux played 46 games, 19 (41%) at home and 27 (59%) on the road. Obviously, Panzer received no special treatment or "phantom assists" while playing in Grand Forks. And remember, that was the last season in the old Engelstand Arena where very few games were televised. It would have been much easier then to award "phantom assists" than it is now.

I would encourage him to follow through. Then he can deal with AIM and the name-change crowd for a while. It would serve him right.
