  7. The USCHO recap has been posted. (Click on the recap link.)
  8. I noticed that they got the "racist mascot" cheer going early in the game.
  9. What a great OT win for the Sioux! Good job, boys!
  10. He probably has to actually attend UND first.
  11. Safe travels to you, SiouxMD.
  12. But don't you think it's good that college hockey is now using a rule similar to the NHL's? I think that's a positive development.
  13. I don't think this will matter as much as some think. Before this rule changed, a puck off the skate could be counted if it wasn't directed into the net intentionally. So it's not as if all goals off skate deflections will now count when they were never counted in the past. Under the old rule, the ref had to make a judgement call about a player's intent, which is rather difficult to do. I saw goals counted that I didn't think should have and other goals waved off that I thought should have counted. All the ref has to decide under the new rule is whether a deliberate kicking motion was made, which is similar to the NHL rule. If it hasn't been bad for the NHL, I can't see it being bad for college hockey.
  14. Someone on USCHO posted a link to this video on the 2006 NCAA ice hockey rules. I'm glad to see that the NCAA isn't backing off on calling checking from behind. There's also a good explanation of the crease rule and directing the puck with a skate.
  15. It doesn't upset me. You asked for relevance. I told you how it was relevant to one of the NCAA's "model insititutions." I'm sorry if that upset you.
  16. It has about as much relevance as the "racist mascot" chant so popular with Badger fans.
  17. If you like that, check this out. A couple of evil Sioux fans and one GVSU fan have been having some fun with the NCAA.
  18. That's right. New Mercedes tomorrow!
  19. From the Green Mill, Tim Hennessy and Scott Swygman are the hosts with Sioux hockey coach Dave Hakstol. TH: The Fighting Sioux will be going to Wisconsin Friday and Saturday for a series with the Badgers at the lovely Kohl Center
  20. Certainly not the same "model university" that received an "F" from the Black Coaches Association.
  21. It makes sense to roll out a new name at the same time UND is suing the NCAA to keep the current name? I'd have to believe that we weren't serious about the lawsuit before I believed that. It makes sense to roll out a new name without getting any input from students or alumni? I can only imagine how well that move would go over. Believe what you will, but I now have it on good authority that it's simply a marketing slogan.
  22. I think people are reading WAY too much into this. I'm not saying that because I have any inside information, but only because it makes absolutely no sense.
  23. From a team defense perspective, it was one of UND's worst games of the year.
  24. What was said on Tim and Swyg that leads you to believe that "Force of the North" is a potential new name rather than a marketing campaign theme?
  25. I think it takes more than one game for the line to become "The Line."
