  1. and another thing that bugs me about this... garth snow on the island, with a perpensity of sniping ncaa players was a college hockey player... torts (coach) and gordie clark (director of player personnel) of the rangers both are college hockey guys... what is their issue with ncaa hockey? is the number of games played an issue? i would think it is just as important for young players to spend some time off ice putting on muscle and preparing their bodies for the nhl grind, which is alot tougher to do during a 70-80 game season. on top of that, und has a VERY solid track record of preparing players for the next level...

  2. i wish no ill will on the kid, but im pretty sure he just lost tens of thousands of supporters... this kind of stuff stinks when it happens to anyone, even worse when its your own team. i said it back during the okposo ordeal, just bad for college hockey in general.

  3. When I heard about the fire and smoke damage in REA I wondered if some of the existing electronics would need replacement ... and upgrade to high-def. We can dream can't we? :)

or just a flipping penalty clock... i know people have stated it is an expensive upgrade, but comeon, we have to be one of the few div. 1 teams without it.

  4. ok, i will give my uneducated guesses...

blackhawks take grimaldi at #18. too much talent to pass up on even with his size, plus they've had good success with former Sioux and small skilled forwards.

leafs take miller at #25. tough, skilled player right up burkes alley. can you imagine him and frattin on a line in a couple years? the destroyer line.

oilers take simpson with the first pick of round 4, #92 overall. size, skating, vision and not to mention the pedigree... i don't see him falling past the 4th round.

#159 to the devils, st. clair is drafted in the sixth round. a guy with his work ethic doesn't go undrafted, plus he is a sioux!!

  5. What's that Zajac thinking.

i don't have any inside info... but would guess the sioux didn't offer him, and he is going to a great program with a pretty good track record of competing and preparing players. i have no idea if und offered him though, but would think with the ties with his two brothers here, he would have taken unds offer first.

  6. You people are just too much fun. All brave behind a keyboard lashing out at people. There is help for that anger out there. Counseling and certain medications come to mind such as Thorazine.

  7. don't know if hexy signs, but you can't blame him if he does. as sioux fans, we want all our guys here for 4 years. but for some of these guys, especially if they come in a year or two older, there is a finite number of productive years in any professional sport, even moreso in hockey. if he does go, i wish him the best, he is a true sioux! but.... might as well come back for a senior season and lead this next sioux team on another deep run (and finally #8!). same with gregiore, didn't he have a year or two of ushl? wouldn't be surprised to see him go, but boy this team could be stacked again if everyone comes back. Sioux for #8 in Tampa!!!

  8. That's why I always wait until the last possible moment to send in my application!!! Comes at a bad time, season tickets for the Ralph are due, as well.

not to mention uncle sam has his hand firmly in our pockets this time of year also...

  9. Cardinal is only on once a week, usually Thursdays, so that would be the first opportunity.

i don't know what time pa is on, i don't listen to him, but i would assume a good chunk of Sioux fans will be in some St. Paul bar or even the X already rather than listening to his show! go Sioux!!!!

  10. another my post is bigger than yours tard heard from?

well stated :silly: i had to reread it to get what you meant in your rambling, but no, im not a post counter nor mentally disabled. and my points in the previous post are still valid in response to your displeasure of this topic... it was on it's way to a natural death before you brought it back to the top of the page, which is the true irony if you really don't want anymore conversation on this topic (although noone has a gun to your head making you read it :D ), and your infrequent post added nothing to the conversation (as off topic as it may be at this time).

  11. The drunkhockeyguy fiasco on PAs show today got me thinking, why all the hate?

Because the Sioux are consistently one of the nations best teams? Jealousy is an angry animal.

Because none of the other guys can get those 26 year old Canadian recruits? ;)

Because we won't give up on the BEST nickname and logo in all of sports!

Because NHL gms and coaches have nothing but high praise for the program? There's that jealousy thing again.

Or simply in today's world of twits and blogs and Internet anonymity... Haters gonna hate?

    Thoughts? Go Sioux!!!

  12. Boourns :(

That sweatshirt was much appreciated at Regionals in 2009!

Sounds like we are building some animosity between Bulldog and Sioux fans....that could be very interesting for the UMTC and UW less WCHA in a couple years...

Could be a lot of fun!

A heated rivalry is one thing, being a$$clown dbags is another. As I said I haven't encountered these types of dog fans, but some here obviously have. I don't think being rivals means we cant be civil to each other. Incidents like the one between Sioux and goof fans outside the Ralph last season does nothing but lessen both fan bases. ALL fan bases have bad fans, let's keep it to a minimum. In the end, we all love college hockey. Go Sioux!!

  13. I understand, why not judge a whole group by the actions of some of its members....

I met somebody last year who did not like the Sioux logo, I told them I didn't agree with what was happening and thought the NCAA was full of it, but I guess I had better change my view and assume everybody wants the logo changed.

By the way, I will still cheer for the Sioux against Michigan because when the dust settles on the Frozen Four I will still enjoy watching the Sioux and if UMD can beat Notre Dame, I want them to beat the best to win the title.

...also, I will never cheer for a big ten team.

I feel for you djk96, as I believe you feel like a majority of Sioux fans felt about UMD. I personally haven't had the negative experiences that some have had here, but when your fan base represents themselves how some have stated, it makes it tough to cheer for that team. I still want an all wcha championship, but only one needs to make it. Go Sioux!!!

  14. I'm not gonna go all debbie downer here, but that SWEET espn/sioux combo logo has two trademarked logos in it. I don't know how serious they would get over a sign, but not sure they would like a bunch of tshirts they didn't get royalties off of walking around the x. I personally think the logo is fantastic, and would don a tshirt with it in a second, and I hope I see a bunch of them next weekend, just stay away from the trademark police. and btw... above the whole thing in small black lettering should say "Dear Fiason and Kelley" ;) Go Sioux!!!!

  15. to aussiesiouxfan and UNDPUCKS... hell yeah! my 3 and a half hour drive from fargo seems a little shorter now! Sioux yeah yeah!!! now whos going to watch frats win the hobey on friday, and whos going to the twins home opener? :D

  16. The fact that suites can have it but the other fans can't has always been Bullsh%$ to me. It should be all or nothing in my opinion.

I wholeheartedly agree... it speaks to the hypocrisy of the NC$$. if they really don't want alcohol at their events, why is it allowed in the suites?? Ive never really understood that one. And as to the all or nothing, definately all :D
