To all those that know more than I (everyone that would be)
how do we prevent JMU from running it down our throats like the bisons did?
having a healthy nose guard will help lots. As far as the defensive scheme?? Do the down linemen shorten their gaps? Do you just have to be more physical?
Thanks bulldog
I look forward to the game - wish I could go - I hear it’s a great experience
much respect for your program. Very important game for our program
take care
I hope it doesn’t come down to us missing a short field goal or especially an extra point - we have put the anxiety back into easy
or we muff a punt reception
or they block our punt
or we lose 15 yards on a trick play on offense to take us out of field goal range
or we run into their punter
Until we do
I am concerned they will connect on some long bombs early like SDSU did that will mess up our somewhat suspect run defense
28 - 14 bad guys
Thanks bulldogg
there are others here much better qualified to describe our team so I will let them
looking forward to the game. Hopefully it is injury free
Sometimes I need to pinch myself about how well this season has played out. We are going to a great program with a great facility to play a quarterfinal game. We are only a slight underdog going in with a decent chance of winning. I love it and appreciate it.
I did watch the 1 st qtr of the VMI game. You are correct. We will need to prevent the long pass - get the interference penalty if needed. JMU will test us. If they connect on a long pass or two we may be in a lot of trouble
All I am saying is that schuster would consider running when flushed out of the pocket. Get some yards and slide. Specifically on third down when he could easily get to the first down before sliding. A designed run every now and then could keep the defense honest. Be smart and get down.
