Zach was interviewed on the most recent episode of This Week in Hockey His interview begins at the 29:19 mark . . . and it's really not worth the effort as the interview is pretty short so here's a recap. Q: Realistically, how much do you talk hockey with your father? ZP: Quite a bit, actually. Q: What do you talk about? ZP: We talk about how things are going at the time. Most of the time he can relate to what's going on. Q: Name one thing he taught you. ZP: Probably shoot where the goalie isn't. That's the best one I can give you. Q: Describe your chemistry with Zajac. ZP: Yeah, I don't know, it just seems like when we play with each other we find each other, and I think we support each other really well in the corners and throughout the ice, and most importantly I think we both enjoy playing together and we have fun on the ice. I think that's something you forget sometimes, just to have fun. Q: You're pals on the ice, are you pals off the ice? ZP: Yeah, we're pretty good buddies off the ice too, so I think that helps even more. It's kinda tough if you didn't get along with somebody. Q: Who's funnier, you or him? ZP: Uhh, who do you think? Q: I don't think he's funny; I think he's very serious. ZP: I think we both have a pretty dry sense of humor, so I think in that fact we get along pretty well. I thought he was from Bloomington and not Minny?

I believe if both BU and BC win their trap games before the final on Monday, UND will benefit the most in the PWR if . . . BC wins. Take into mind, the only other games I factored in to this presumption were a sweep of Mankato as I have a life and I don't want to or care to go through the endless permutations of pairwise comparisons.

Parise with his 21st goal tonight against the Rangers . . . He has a goal in each of his last four games Hale is not playing tonight he's got the flu or a cold or something of the like

Take into account that it's also a Monday night . . . and my point is that you all say that the Beanpot is overhyped by the media and everyone that actually cares about it. My point is that this is a tradition and that is why it receives attention from those that care about it, I don't see how this tournament is "hyped" anymore than say the GLI or Denver Cup. Plus these games are played on Mondays what the hell else is there to talk about in college hockey besides those rankings that come out and mean nothing

The tickets are all sold . . . it's one admission for both games, and most people don't stay for both. The BU and Northeastern students will stay, but the general population will only attend the game of the team they root for. BC fans show up late to their own games so why would they stay and or come early.

Who you play in the first round rotates, as does whether you are the late or early game. BU and BC faced off in the first round in 2005. BU won 2-1, then defeated NU in overtime for the championship. Last year BU played Harvard first with BC vs. NU, this year is NU vs. BU and BC vs. Harvard, so next year BU and BC will meet in the first round again.

When the Sioux took on their biggest rival UMTC last week, they were only 2 games over .500, barely a tourney team . . . does that mean that that series wasn't good hockey? It doesn't matter how the teams are playing coming in, they are good games no matter what, these are rivalries we're talking about here. I know I can't make you care, you don't have to care, but don't belittle a tradition in college hockey, because that is where this could head. If instead this could be a thread analyzing the tournament instead of one calling it overhyped and stupid because BU wins it every year I would love to contribute furthur, but otherwise, have at it I guess.

I know that's the way most people outside Massachusetts feel . . . but growing up in Jersey I knew about the Beanpot and the tradition of it; I saw the highlights on Sportscenter. Here in the city it's not really that hyped media wise until about a week before when we have the luncheon; that's when you start to feel it in the air, you can actually feel the tournament getting near. I know I sound all fangirlish about this thing but there's so much history surrounding it and all four schools are so close that even natural rivalries are intensified to the max. The only imagery I can possibly give to outsiders to get them to understand is to imagine 5,000 of your students crowded behind the goal of the upper bowl of an NHL rink all clad in jerseys jumping up and down and screaming so loud that the combined force of sheer joy and enthusiam causes the concrete balcony to shake all the way around the arena. I've gotten to experience that, and it is short of a better term . . . amazing. And then when it's over, you celebrate, you fix the banner, and you move on. Unless you're a BC fan, then you insist that all BU cares about is the Beanpot and it's season ends right there though the past 3 seasons have proved otherwise.

I'll be there as well . . . And guys, it's not so much hype as it is tradition . . . if you've ever been, it's a lot of fun. It's something every real college hockey fan should experience because it doesn't matter what the teams records are coming in, whether they're in contention for the NCAA's or dwelling in the basement; it's about coming in on the first 2 mondays of February and giving your all, and this year should be no different. This is for bragging rights. And if any Sioux fans had thoughts about rooting for BC, I'd suggest you mosey over to the Eagle Action messageboard to see what BC Superfans think of the "Stupid Sioux tricks" . . .

Zach was the #1 star of the game . . . because he had the game winner His postgame thoughts included the fact that he and Travis feel they have a lot of responsibility and they took no special means to end their mutual scoring drought other than knowing that they have a responsibility to score and help the team. Upon congratulations for his 20th goal he said that he definetly wanted to get to 20 this season and now that he has he just hopes they keep coming. Congratulations to Zach and by all means, keep 'em coming.

Parise just took another stick to the face . . . what is it with the NHL's need to make Zach look more like a hockey player and less like an Abercrombie model? His poor girlfriend.

It was probably an Eaves, those BC boys are lightweights. Just can't handle their booze, they've been the bane of many a Boston cab driver over the years. When are college athletes gonna learn, sure everybody does it in college, but when they do it, it's gonna make the paper . . . you'd be better off going to someone's house/apartment or drinking in the dorms. Or, I don't know, just follow the law and don't drink underage, but what are the chances of that.

If they can show the double Hattricks from the BU - Maine series on Sportscenter, I think they can show this. But they probably won't. There will however be a highlight reel on the CSTV website within a couple days.

You never know, I've seen BU hockey highlights on Sportscenter. We were #2 on the top 10 plays of the day.

That rush was absoluetly gorgeous. The sieve can not believe it.
