I'll agree with you on the ethics of it. But until the coaches are held to their contract (their "letter of intent"), I'm not getting too upset when a kids changes his mind. Both instances blur the ethical lines, but in the end both the Coach and the kids do what is in their best interest.

I would love to see a Sam Houston game.

I'd be satisfied with a 10pt loss. Unless that came via giving up a big lead or something like that.

UND/NDSU football commentary: You can't retire stupid

I knew that Bear Bryant was overrated. -
I wouldn't worry too much. Lots of things get tossed around in committee. Some coaches...cough...cough...Frank...Beamer...cough...cough...attempt to eliminate the cut block every year. If something makes it out to the membership, then there's a problem.

UND/NDSU football commentary: You can't retire stupid

Fairness and accuracy compells me to point out there are, on average, just over 18k porcupines there on a given Saturday. http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/2011/Internet/attendance/FCS_AVGATTENDANCE.pdf -
UND/NDSU football commentary: You can't retire stupid

While I think the timing of a Sioux Suck chant was very strange, I've never had a problem with the chant itself. If you can't say your rival sucks (spare me any "we've moved on from the rivalry" arguments please), that's a problem for someone else to deal with. And UND has dealt with it. I do find the johnny come lately effort by local media to turn the chant into a racial slur somewhat entertaining though. Seems to be the cause du jour. -
That was also a far better Kansas team than the one I watched today.

While I don't understand Muss's reasoning either, I'm actually shocked a media member would comply with that request.

Prinsen, McElroy, Callahan, Hillesheim, Tibesar, Borowicz, Emend, Cheatham

I've found UNI fans to be among the nicest, most polite, down to earth fans I've had the priviledge to meet. Has your experience been from message board fodder? I've experienced far more ugliness between sioux and bison fans-both virtually and reality.

I wonder if there will be any national title game threads that don't end up locked before the official game day thread starts.
-
The head start Sam had with their Friday game didn't help bison fans either.
-
...particularly when your reaction is to something you have absolutely no control over, like what team wins a championship.

Jack is great calling Sioux games. Unfortunately, he has other obligations that prevents him from being the ambassador the team needs. I mean really, is there any doubt that PA, or even Scott Miller, is actively promoting the Vikings/Bison athletics?
-
I'd put more stock in that if their fans showed up to fill their stadium for their actual home playoff game.
-
On the topic of Sioux fan/Bison fan...I just realized I'm sitting at work listening to the voice of Sioux football, who happens to be a bison grad, discussing bison football (as usual), on the radio network which broadcasts bison football.

My money is on door #3...both schools sign good WRs they are happy with.
-
I think it goes to the discussion about him we've had here all along. BB is his #1 sport, but he's better at FB. Now he will have to put in a much bigger commitment for FB than he ever has. How will that work out? We will find out since the spotlight will be on him in Fargo.

I suspect either Woods communicated this to Muss when he travelled to Bemidji, or Muss found out later. Either way, it explains in part why Muss would make the visit then not extend an offer.
-
I didn't know what to make of it since Muss isn't able to comment. It said something that Muss made the home visit. It said something an offer couldn't be confirmed following the visit. I don't know.

He's now confirming: Jeff Kolpack@FGOSPORTSWRITER6m Reply RetweetedRetweet Delete FavoritedFavorite · Close Open Details Check that, Woods confirmed to NDSU.

For what an "unconfirmed report" is worth: Jeff Kolpack@FGOSPORTSWRITER4m Reply RetweetedRetweet Delete FavoritedFavorite · Close Open Details Unconfirmed report says Bemidji WR Carey Woods verballed to NDSU.

Here's the all time Great West Football team. Since there are no UND players on it, I'm not sure how to remember the football transition period. http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/gwfc/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2011-12/release/release_final.pdf
