I agree, but we also have to get to a point where we analyze both teams coming into the game and we say "UND looks as good or better than (EWU, MSU, etc.). I think in another year we will be there vs some of the teams perennially at the top of the conference.

I respect your football (and basketball) mind, but don't you think that is a bit of an overstatement? That was certainly true in 2010, but today? They aren't flashy but they do what they choose to do extremely well. And you don't put up 24 points on KState, imposing your will at the line of scrimmage, if your offense is a liability.

Let's look at this game dispassionately for a minute. If it seems like I'm tempering expectations for this game it is because I am. UND certainly may upset the Jacks,but... The Jacks have a solid core of experienced guys coming off a season that saw them earn a home playoff game win, then lose on the road to the national champion. They are ranked #6 coming in. UND finished middle of the pack in their conference, got blown out by the top of the conference, lost their QB and are now starting a freshman, a running game which worries no one, a defense which was historically bad last year and are HOPING for improvement this year, and yes, have arguably the best receiving corps in the country. Getting blown out is unacceptable, but there is no shame in losing this game. SDSU looks to be just flat out better than UND.

To me the only way UND wins this game is a track meet. The defense hasn't improved enough to hold the Jacks down. While the ultimate success or failure of the season will reside in the improvement of the D (IMHO), there hasn't been nearly enough game opportunities for that improvement to take place yet. I think this game will have a 2012 Montana feel to it.

You can trace their decline from the point when Joe Glenn left. He was/is a great coach, motivator, and probably most important for UNC he was a charismatic ambassador for the program which really helped their fundraising.

As long as we are discussing local cable-Midco has already forced Cableone to change immensely. Several years ago, I was about to drop Cableone for Dish because they refused to add BTN. If memory serves, it was at least a year before they added it. Same thing with NFL Network. Cableone used to be incredibly slow to add channels. Not so anymore. When there's a new offering they jump on it. Without competition from Dish and MidCo, that never would have happened. I still have my issues with Cableone, but nothing that has pushed me to the point of dropping them as I was about to do before. Is see the continued presence of MidCo to continue this trend, and the viewer is the beneficiary in this.

Then I sure don't blame them for refusing rights to cable one or charging a hefty fee.

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked and answered, but is UND producing the broadcast in house and bidding out the licensing the broadcast rights or is Midco actually producing/broadcasting the entire thing?
