  1. Amen...Creamy Dark. But strangely, this doesn't seem to work when I'm not there in person... When I can't be there, I reach for Mich Golden Light
  2. Isn't there an ESPN zone in Chicago, that would almost certainly have it on?
  3. I'll be in Chicago! I was planning on watching at home, but if there's a bar that would show college hockey in March (good luck), I'll be there!!! Eventually my wife and I will be planning hockey parties there, but since we've just moved, there's just no time... We're even considering (long-term plans here) to open a bar that would cater to the WCHA crowd on gamenights. But like I said...that's off in the distance a ways... My experience in Chicago in March is that if NC$$BB is on, that's what's played...on every screen. And if BB isn't on, then someone is bound to be talking about it on ESBB. And all of this is, of course, much more important than live college hockey.
  4. Wow, what a game. Had to stay away from the board until I could watch it in full... Looks like we're in for one heck of a game tomorrow (tonight, actually). I'm hoping that last BS goal from the F5 is fresh in our boys' minds. Hopefully we can send the GILDED RODENTS packing once again! GO SIOUX!!!!!
  5. Well, I'm officially in Chicago now. Looking forward to getting hooked up with the FTA dish for next season. For now, I'm stuck watching games on DTV sports pack. Better than nothing, but I really wish it was live. Thanks everyone for all the great info on this thread.
  6. Bummer. Well, thanks guys. I guess the sports pack will be the way to go. Not a bad deal, really. Lots of college hockey. Apparently they haven't figured out that there are college hockey fans that would probably pay for a stand-alone package... Maybe I'll try the webcast...
  7. I'll be moving to Chicago on Friday. Luckily, Direct TV was nice enough to set up installation on Sat afternoon, in time for Sat night's game. I've heard rumors that the newer digital dishes can pick up the FSSN, but I've been shuffled around all over the place talking to many different people who have no idea... Is it possible to pick up the FSSN signal through the DirectTV dish? If so, how is this acheived? Thanks!
  8. Just a few comments/questions. First, great listing of songs. Second, after the iron maiden intro, what song breaks in during the intro video? Third - I have attended most every Sioux home hockey game since the opening of the new REA. The musical selections really do have to be updated. While I think the band definitely has a place in the arena, the PA music can also really help to make for a great atmosphere. Previous posters are correct... "hit me with your best shot" is pretty tired. So are a number of other songs that just don't get the crowd into it. "Welcome to the Jungle" is a GREAT song, but a few years ago, they really played it to death (most faceoffs, during "big" moments", after fights, etc), and the break from it this year has been somewhat welcome. One band I have suggested for years (since the games in the old Ralph, incidentally) is a band called Fear Factory. They're kinda similar to the Distrubed that they already play, just a bit less radio friendly. They have some really great riffs. One song in particular is called "Edgecrusher". I always thought that would have been great after a Commodore fight!!! Ah, the good old days at the old REA, back when even old ladies watched the games (and didn't read magazines during the games)" All of this said, one previous poster alluded to the fact that the crowd has a job to do at the games as well. The Ralph does get pretty darn quiet at times, and that isn't the fault of the band or the music chick...
  9. Quote "No settlement. Period. Let's say all of this is true. The NCAA slimes out of the fight only to persecute another day? That does not sound palatable at all to me. If the NCAA does relent, I say push even harder and get binding precedent. The PC elites are like so many cockroaches and they will come back. Now that we've mustered the machinery to fight them, fight them all the way. Like I've said before, the next time we might have weenies in the AG Office and the State Board of Higher Education. The kind of exposure through the public documents that the NC00 seeks to prohibit is probably just the sort of thing to break this whole matter into the public forum after which a lot of people may be up in arms and hopefully do something." I totally agree. By the way, hello everyone. Long time reader, first time poster...
