  1. I wonder if Osh is a candidate to join Team USA for the WC in Swiss?

Maybe, but after watching him play in the playoffs something tells me he was nursing an injury. I could be wrong, but he didn't seem all there.

  2. Wow...Oshie has come a long way good for him....After Toews and Parise he is number three in making the biggest NHL splash!!

Jason Blake my friend, Oshie will get there, let see how he does next year.. No doubt he shall be amazing but you can't classify him with parise and toews just yet

  3. Hrkac circus won a NC....but damn looking back DOT was pretty good!

The money line with Bo, Brady Murray and Z par was more dynamic, they were one of the most exciting lines I have ever witnessed at UND. I remember the days when the same line would go out first for the PP, it was unreal!

  4. Thank god we have another goalie coming in next year to. BE did a good job throughout the year, but to have him play as many games as he did without getting some rest is a bit much. It should be nice having two goalies that can play next year if one has an off night, that's the whole point... not putting BE down.

  5. If you would of told me the Sioux would of scored five goals today and not win, I would call you crazy! I can't believe what I just saw. BE was not that solid, and Chay and Joe were so bad on defense that they did not deserve to win!

  6. Genoway and Finley on the ice for 5 out of 6 goals.

Tell me why they were on the ice at all?

Exactly people need to quit thinking Chay is good and Finely played awful, thank god he is a senior. Terrible coaching by Hak to keep playing these two all night when they were a minus 5 at least, unreal, way to !@#$ the bed guys!

  7. we get lacrosse during hockey's intermission. we must be living right. Still 9-9 in the 4th friggin' OT, 2:30 left

If they would just shoot the dam ball! All they do it pass and pass and then call time outs eff!

  8. What an insane game by T.J. If he didn't get hurt earlier in the year, I think he would be a serious candidate for rookie of the year. St. Louis is going to love him for years to come, he plays the game with so much passion and energy. I was reading an article on the blues forums and it said that Oshie's jerseys have sold more then any other blues players on the team, if true that is pretty awesome. I really want the blues to make the playoffs, while they might not when in the first round, at least they are entertaining with players like oshie, berglund and backes. Columbus, Edmonton, and Minnesota are a snooze fest to watch, let's hope the blues get that last playoff spot!

  9. Last night T.J had the sickest hit against Dustin Brown of the L.A. Kings. I believe Dustin Brown is always one of the leading hitters in the game, it was highlight of a hit for sure. T.J just smiles after the hit. It was awesome!

  10. Lastly, fifth straight year the riders are in the state final game, that is pretty impressive to me. While last years team was plenty deep, not all of these past teams were the front runner to win state. They just seem to get it done. I haven't seen much of this years team other then these last two days, but to get the state final with two of your top six forwards an eighth grader and a freshman, who are good players, is pretty incredible. Also add to that, that on defense they only have 3 maybe 4 legitimate defensemen and Kieth Howe was always a forward going into this year. Who was the last team to play in five straight title games? Central maybe?

  11. Don't kid yourself, there will very likely be TWO good varsity teams in south Fargo when that time comes. Don't be surprised if we see some South vs. Davies championship games in the future. Having said that, congratulations to that Meland kid from RR. He single handedly helped his team beat a vastly superior opponent tonight. If he can do it again tomorrow the Riders will be able to add another trophy to their collection.

They just add another year to the banner. That's the saying at Red River! Nothing new there...

  12. Red River wins 6-2, goaltending was an issue for RR and Minot was undone by a lack of speed and skill overall from the most part they just didn't seem like a skilled team. Dean Blais in attendance chatting with a young Riders parent...

Probably Johnson and regarding Luke Johnson. Only kid really in the state that has potential and he's just an eighth grader. Let's hope this kid gains some size over the next few years or the kids hockey career will be cut short. Good player overall though.

  13. I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but I thought this video was pretty amazing! It is on Youtube under UND Fighting Sioux Hockey. It is called LEGENDS and should be played before every game! If this doesn't fire you up, I don't know what will! GO SIOUX!

While I like concept of the video, that is a pretty bad video overall a better more edited version with better high quality pictures and maybe even throw in a few video clips would do a lot more justice. This is a very simplistic video, I wouldn't give it to much praise!

  14. Not really hockey related, but still former player -

Tonight I saw the new movie "He's just not that into you." Not far into the movie, one of the guys (played by Justin Long) is watching a UND hockey game on tv. He yells out "Come on, Spiewak, this isn't the ice capades!" or something to that effect.

I wonder if Spiewak knew his name was going to be used in the newest chick flick :D

That's feakin awesome. Spiewak was a pretty solid player at Und as I recall, the kid had some serious wheels, and was great on the pk as I remember.

  15. Anyone have two general admission seats for Friday Night, I don't care about the row, or bowl section. Just looking to fine some tickets for a few buddies coming up. I will compensate really well but will not pay a ridiculous amount for the tickets.

    Let me know

  16. I think the prettiest goal of the game, the night and possibly the month, was made by another former Sioux. Jason Blake makes Clemmentsen look silly with a beautiful point-blank, spin-o-rama move in the shoot out for the game winner.

I don't understand that goal, I always thought that puck in a shootout or penalty shot always has to remain going in a forward position. Clearly, with the spin-a-rama move the puck is getting back and is not sustaining constant forwardness. Anyone explain this? Regardless, that was one hell of a goal, so sick!

  17. This thread is so stupid. The coach is amazing he is doing a great job. The girls are on a transition period, they will be great not good, but great in two years. He has the respect of all the girls, to say that he needs to be fired is so dumb. Do you remember how this team faired last year? If not go check back on old scores and do some research and then we''ll talk. He's wort every penny for the program right now....... get over yourself people!!!!!!!!!

  18. I don't think we're poor offensively per se, merely inconsistent. Agree about Malone -- he doesn't do much... The only center that could create anything is Trupp and we don't know the severity of his injury last night. Hopefully it's minor but it's tough to say. Toews probably has the potential to be able to set things up but he hasn't played enough at center for me to know that. A couple of us were talking and think we should convert gregoire to a center and play him with duncan and hextall or something. As far as not finishing above .500 ... if Wisconsin can pull even starting 0-6-1, I think we can turn things around too! So I'm not giving up yet. But losing Trupp (again) would be a huge loss. Joe Finley coming back could help defensively.

Joe will come back, and then Miller will be a spark plug on the first or second line. That will help some consistency and then make another line better, because I would assume miller goes with vandy and duncs, and then hextall drops down to line two or grinder line three.
