  1. Of course I turn around to take a peek at the source and I kid you not it was three guys in farmer's overalls with Gopher hockey sweatshirts underneath!

Figures they'd be in your section. When I was watching North Dakota lose to Ferris State, I had to sit next to these three former University of Minnesota students.

    Just my luck

  2. As I've said, the biggest problem that I have with Gopher fans and announcers is the arrogance
Thank God UND fans aren't arrogant.

That's why Ross plays at Alabama and Bochenski plays at the best college hockey school in the country.

If someone from Alabama-Huntsville wins the Hobey, Hobey Baker himself would start spinning in his grave.
  3. I have no problem with them being biased, except they have to remember that they broadcast outside of the Twin Cities into Grand Forks, Fargo, St. Cloud and UMD, etc., and constantly belittle other programs and their fans.

Wrong. Last year, they essentially adopted Mankato as their second favorite team. Whenever the program turned to college hockey, PA was sure to drop Joseph and Stevenson's names and talk up their unbeaten streak.

For all of their constant belittling...they still seem to find time to do their show in Grand Forks and Mankato and Duluth. They still find the time to have Blais on, Jutting on and Dahl on.

Today from the mouths of PA and Dubay, I heard a split predicted. I heard the comment that North Dakota was the legitimate number one this year and a far better team than last year. I also heard that Parise could suit up for the Devils right now.

After one caller from Grand Forks spent a minute going off on the Gophers, PA's first comment was "Great Call" because they appreciated the enthusiasm and hype surrounding the series.

  4. Woog's Wisdom in the Minnesota Hockey Journal

    #1 UND at #5 Minnesota

Get ready for this one as Minnesota has received plenty of requests for tickets and it should be a great atmosphere at Mariucci. Everybody is healthy for both teams and on paper, UND looks like they should do pretty well. In the standings the Sioux have two games in hand, yet 7 more points than Minnesota. But this series isn

  5. So the Sue can boast about 7>5, but Gopher fans can't boast about defending NCAA Champions? Is there a difference?

Yo, smart guy. There IS a point. Here's your original comment:

Maybe I should have said....who cares who you supported?

  6. This is much better than prideoncrap.com. I gotta give you credit...that's damn funny...you changed prideonice to prideoncrap. I don't know how you do it.

Could you point out examples of Gopher fans acting and thinking like they've surpassed Michigan? Thanks.

  7. Yeah I guess every school has some bad fans - difference being UND's "bad" fans shove a mascot on occasion and the Golden Shower's bad fans destroy property, burn cars and riot.
Shoving a mascot on occasion.....means charged with consuming alcohol as a minor, disorderly conduct and giving false information to police...yeah, no big deal.

Riots have happened Detroit, Denver, Montreal, Chicago, etc., etc. If there was anything to burn down in Grand Forks aside from silos, they'd happen there too.

As for whether we did or didn't back the goofers, they did it without our support.

Is there a point? Is their championship tarnished because of it?

  8. You are right, every school has them and you are Exhibit A. You are the classic troll with never anything positive to say, only trolling to stir up trouble.

So you agree with me, but I'm stirring up trouble. Makes sense.

And no Gopher fan has ever been given crap for wearing a Gopher jersey at Engelstad.

I don't know how the team survived without your support.

  9. Of course, we know that no UND fan has ever been rude or obnoxious. BTW, how is that UND fan that got arrested in St. Cloud for beating up Blizzard the mascot doing?

Bottom line, every school's got 'em. Get over yourselves.

  10. For all the Hobey winners MN has had, only Neal Broten became anything in the NHL.

Jordan Leopold is in only his second season at Calgary (22-13-3 this year..when's the last time they were nine games over .500?) and is their team leader in defenseman scoring.
