is the Ncaa democrat or republican? I would like for them to run for president as they do whatever they want and probably would get a lot done in this country. Just a thought....

As everyone else here I state an opinion and right now, I don't see anything changing in regards to the nickname and I SIMPLY am following and am supportive of the sioux tribe that is trying to keep their name, something their ancestors told the university to do. whatever happens happens, but I plan on staying on the good side, and winning this battle.

The people, I guess, that matter most are the ones whos pocket books are effected the most. Or thats how it works these days. See it how you want but the name will stay, with at most, small temporary sanctions.

Have 50% of Sioux Natives come out and tell me the name should go, then I'll agree with a name change. But that'll never happen. Why listen to the people who matter most right now? Interesting. I applaud the NCAA and the spineless people of America.

Are you sure about this? I think its a little more than this. Sweeping Mankato can't do much for us I wouldn't think. It should just come down to the teams ahead of us in the PW losing their games...

You think we would gain at least a spot in the pairwise. So to even have a chance we need to get to 12th or better or win the FF right?

read the rule book. We could've lit up all we want if the call was against us. The rules quite clear and it was only bens size that kept it from looking bad. Throw gleason into bens spot there at there would've been a yard sale. BAD POWER PLAY!

Bad call or not: You see nothing but the back of a jersey and you hit them numbers into the board, its a major. No reason to feel differently about it.

yeah! It didn't look horrible because of ben's size. However it was a clear check from behind.

haven't read much of this thread but I had to to some self ranting about the major penalties given last night. I think all of these need to be replayed before deciding if its 5 min. or not. I am all for safety of the players but if your hitting the head, your hittiing the head and need to be ejected. Mcwilliam's hit was upper body and maybe ended up with a little head contact, the call is tough to make. Even the announcers didn't agree on the five min. However, the hit on Lammy was also contact to the head, (at least as much contact as Mcwilliams hit) and Denver serves two min. If your going to make these calls, you have to be consistant as all hell with em. One missed call could very well mean the season for any of these teams and that is a big deal if you ask anyone who has any common sense. What happens in regular speed can be tough to make the right call, and the bigger the hit, the better chance of a penalty will be called (even if it was a legal hit). Basically what it comes down to is never put a big hit on anyone as if it looks bad, they'll call it a penalty everytime, everytime. Which sucks. If your looking at the safet of the players, you need to also consider what the game of hockey is, or at least part of it, and that is hitting. Replay the major penalties to make sure you didn't make a mistake, in my opinion..

We are at eleven instead of 13. How does this effect things. Just keep winning right? Lets say we split with denver and sweep our last series. Will we still need to win the final five to make a regional? Even though I'm sure there are many factors....
