  1. Wow, a buthockey argument. You must really think you're losing the football argument.
  2. Dethrone NDSU? At your current rate of championships, NDSU could eliminate football and you wouldn't catch up until the next millennium.
  3. And none of that even remotely compares to what NDSU accomplished either before or after 2011. You had an OK run but your football trophy case is still pretty empty.
  4. Loosen up and have some fun? Pointing out the obvious superiority of NDSU's football program IS fun.
  5. Interesting that you remember UND's long climb to one DII championship, but seem to have completely forgotten that NDSU won 8 national championships (including three out of four) prior to 2011. Even if NDSU had not won the last 4 championships, it would still be true that UND has never been "at the top" like NDSU has been at the top. .
  6. The difference is that UND has never been on top like NDSU is now, and there is absolutely no basis for anyone to expect, or even hope, that UND will ever be where NDSU is now.
  7. Two words; Northern Colorado.
  8. Sorry, but this is fallacious reasoning. It does not follow that because UND was moderately successful in DII (and one DII championship really isn't all that successful), it will be successful in DI-FCS. So far, the most that can be said is that UND may be successful at this level. However, UND's record since it moved up shouldn't give you, or anyone else, much confidence.
  9. But NDSU fans don't list beating a mediocre FCS team among their team's best DI accomplishments, even if that team happened to be ranked at the time. It may hurt to admit it, but UND has zero noteworthy DI football accomplishments.
  10. What in the world does hockey have to do with this discussion?
  11. Are you kidding? It's millions easily. This is a little out dated, but it makes the point: TELEVISION Last year (2008), 136.8 million unique TV viewers tuned in to at least one minute of NCAA Tournament coverage on CBS. As the tournament progressed, an increasing amount of households tuned in to the games. During the first round of tournament coverage, 24.6 million households watched at least a portion of the games. By the time Kansas emerged as the Final Four champion, 56 million had caught a few minutes of at least one March Madness game. http://www.nielsen.com/us/en/press-room/2009/the_nielsen_companys.html
  12. I have watched thousands of thousands of sporting events, perhaps tens of thousands. I'd be hard pressed to give detail on more than 10% of those events, probably even less. But, I doubt I have forgotten the names and details about most of the teams involved. That's just the way it works. I guarantee you that millions of people are familiar with "NDSU" and "Bison" who might not have been had NDSU lost the Summit League tournament in 2009.
  13. Talk about making stuff up! I've never met anyone who thought NDSU won that game. BTW - it actually was a memorable game. How often do you see a relatively small guy from a school in North Dakota hang almost 40 on the defending national champs?
  14. Huh? I've never actually heard anyone refer to NDSU as UND. I have heard them call NDSU "North Dakota." But that's not even really a mistake. In any case, what you're saying is no more than a lame rationalization on your part. Of course, people will remember the name, even if they don't specifically remember the game. The more often they hear it, the more they'll remember it. That's the way It works.
  15. Why would saying silly things like this be comforting to you? Enjoy listening to basketball analysts discussing NDSU...you won't hear any talking about UND.
  16. Argue this all you want. The bottom line is no team in the Big Sky won enough games, or beat enough quality opponents, to impress anyone. That's why the BSC conference champ is a 16 seed.
  17. Tough November for the Bison. It happens, not a big deal.
  18. Who said anything about RPI? The Bison are better than Weber State and the rest of the BSC, simple as that. You won't find many people who disagree, outside of Big Sky campuses of course. As far as the Bison beating OU...they are the trendy upset pick at the moment...
  19. Don't agree. But that's why they play the games. We'll see.
  20. If TrayVonn plays the way he did against IPFW, the Bison will win. He's the X-Factor.
  21. Really? Given their seeding, it appears that very few people agree with you. Oh well, don't surprised if NDSU wins a game or two in the tournament.
  22. Of course they got a bad draw...they're a number 16 seed. What were you expecting?
  23. You're kidding aren't you? You cannot possibly believe that.
  24. You have it exactly right. UND (along with many other "DI" hockey schools) are able to compete at the "highest level" in hockey only because the big NCAA schools have chosen not to.
