I had a similar thing happen here in Fargo. One day we got 2 Jehova's witnesses at our front door. They managed to convince someone to buzz them into the building. When I confronted them about why they were'nt being escorted around in our building (it states in the Renter Agreement you're responsible for ALL guests you bring into the building), they got very snooty with me. I just picked up my cell-phone and told them they've got 5 seconds before I called the cops. They had the audacity to say, "we're not doing anything wrong, we're not soliciting", I just simply said get out and started dialing and they left. The next day I had the person come by trying to sell magazines. I can understand if it's high school children doing a fundraiser, but this guy was about 25-30, stunk horribly from smoking and was extremely pushy. I told him I didn't have any money but he kept trying to make the sale. He asked if I could write him a check and promised he would wait to cash it. I just finally closed the door on him and he pounded back and said a derogatory term through the door and then ran out of the building. What the hell is wrong with these people?

It's funny how they could have spent $500,000 on new servers and ALFI would still work perfectly fine for student services. But they went ahead and spent $40 million statewide and the new system is just as slow and poor in performance and navigability as the old one. I have yet to hear one good thing from ANYONE on the Peoplesoft product.

So with the numbers in hand, it seems to me, that if UND was to successfully move up to DI they would have to match NDSU's athletic budget, plus have an additional $2,000,000 for men's and women's hockey (roughly), that would mean UND would have to come up with hefty chump change, according to these figure : NDSU's Final Budget at the End of the Transition : $10 million/year UND's Current ( Real - Minus that ONE time $3,000,000 item ) Budget : $7 million/year UND's Final Budget at the End of the Transition : $12 million/year (an additional $2 million for Hockey) That's $5 million more dollars a year. A bit more than what the Great and Mighty Herald suggested. Maybe UND is going to have to drop some sports to make room for an increased Football budget, Basketball budget and maintaining their hockey.

Yes, you do. In Hockey. Congrats. I wouldn't say those Hockey Championships are the hot ticket either when it comes to viewing sports on national stage. I'd say it's Football, Basketball, a couple of other sports, then Hockey. That doesn't leave a shadow for a school that doesn't even play Hockey either. If NDSU ever takes up Hockey, which I highly doubt we will, and truely hope we don't, then, at that time, we can compare the two schools on that playing field. But please, don't compare Football Championships with Hockey Championships. There is no comparison.
