I think it's great that he didn't just give up on UND and try to find a pro contract somewhere. It really shows his dedication to the program, as well as the family that players feel when they're part of the program.
Why does he seem to stand out so much more in these games than he does in Sioux games? Is it because he's being utilized differently in these games, or is it because he's the only Sioux player so I'm paying more attention to him?
I remember seeing another interview of theirs (both girls were there) on TV a few weeks ago. It was the same way as you describe it. Neither of them sounded excited about anything. Just a very monotonous interview.
Interesting note that we just heard about next year's expansion of the playoffs. I hadn't heard that before. Moving the championship game into January is slightly unorthodox. I know the bowl games go into January, but the teams that play in those games haven't played since the end of November (maybe beginning of December).
I'm surprised they were able to make that kind of change.
I guess one pocket was getting too many marbles in it. They can't call EVERY tripping call against UW.
And Smith's attempt to act injured just ruined a breakaway chance.
Malone is trying so hard to draw penalties. A couple times at whistles he'll get right in the face of a Badger, take a shove, and get right back in their face but not shove back. One of these times it's gotta work.
