  1. Pretty much . He has a ways to go and I have no idea how good he is, just responding to the question.
  2. He's a 92, which means that, depending on how many years he is in juniors and his birthday, he would either be a 2010, 2011, or 2012.
  3. Jake Gardiner from Minnetonka committed to Wisconsin. He made a campus visit here earlier this summer (I believe it was mentioned earlier) but choose Bucky instead.
  4. Besides David Toews, 2008 has to be locked up at foward. Think about it, even with the likely depatures of Duncan and Oshie, then Kaip and Radke to graduation, that leaves you with 10 fowards (not counting Genoway) and five incoming freshmen (counting Toews) giving a total of 15 fowards. As much as I would like to see a player like Stefishan or Lee come here, I just don't think that there will be a scholarship and roster spot available. The only added player for 2008 may be another d-men (McPherson from the BCHL was mentioned the other day) because you could have likely depatures of Chorney, Lee, Finley, and Bina. I don't think that the 2009 class will be as big some may think (because you will have a likely 6 seniors).
  5. After the last day of the Select 16's, here are the top scorers for the camp. http://www.oswebs.com/usah/public/report.a...amp;k=1&t=3
  6. Des Moines of the USHL. Also, it seems like the coaches feel that Frattin will make a more immediate impact than Hextall.
  7. I never said UND in particular was recruiting him, just saying that he's on the radar nationally.
  8. He's listed by Heisenburg as 5'7 155 and this is excluding the fact he will be in a nice training program in Ann Arbor next year. Remember that this kid is playing on the best 17 team in the country next year and beat out a lot of the Minnesota kids that are mentioned here. He's also proving that he's a talented scorer by the way he is playing in the Select 16s's. A certain player on our team got around his size by his skating ability and shot, it seems like this kid is also.
  9. Currently Ryan Bourque is listed as 5'7, if memory serves me right there is a pretty good player on our team that is about that height.
  10. After day four of the Select 16's, here are the top scorers. http://www.oswebs.com/usah/public/report.a...amp;k=1&t=3
  11. Tryouts for this years 2007 Fall Elite League will be taking place on Saturday. The south tryout will be at 9:30 a.m. at New Hope Ice Arena and the north tryout will be at 11:30 a.m. at Bemidji Ice Arena. Here is the schedule and the rosters for both tryouts, South Schedule http://www.hselitehockey.com/index.asp?Typ...C-0634DD074EE1} South Rosters http://www.hselitehockey.com/index.asp?Typ...9-1B5A252E874E} North Schedule http://www.hselitehockey.com/index.asp?Typ...3-9045794FCFE5} North Rosters http://www.hselitehockey.com/index.asp?Typ...B-8947C242AD67}
  12. Weren't Mike Cichy and Brad Malone supposed to go to eastern schools. You never know what can happen if a team recruits him hard enough.
  13. So far Ryan Bourque (son of Ray) has been one of the leading scorers at the USA Select 16's. He is supposed to be a very talented foward from people that have seen him. He spent this last season at Cushing Prep (where Brad Malone played) and he will be playing for the NTDP U17 this upcoming year. Many schools are recruiting him and since we will need a good amount of incoming fowards for 09, he would be a good pickup.
  14. Yes he is. He was the leading scorer on their U16 team this year.
  15. He would be a 2009 and would be a replacement for Jones.
  16. After day three of the Select 16's, here are the scoring leaders, http://www.oswebs.com/usah/public/report.a...amp;k=3&t=3 Nate Schmidt is one of the scoring leaders and mentioned UND in a recruiting article once although it seems like he is favoring CC, here is the link for that, http://www.ushl.com/news/0607/20070212CSSchmidtPachis.cfm
  17. Jones, Genoway, Gleason, and one other if this was the case. I know it's so far to look ahead but this is what the coaches do when they recruit and for 08 7 d-men is good because you have a cushion. It would be easy to have Genoway at foward again and have him as a last resort d-men. So it makes sense that you recruit another d-men for 08. Even if someone like Chorney or Finley were to stay, then you could have Gleason play juniors for one year.
  18. I've said it before but I would think it would be logical to recruit another d-men for 08 since it would be realistic to lose Bina, Radke, Finley, Lee, and Chorney, so this doesn't surprise me.
  19. Although I don't think it will happen with Oshie and Duncan, sometimes coaches will mix up players on lines from the previous year if they feel they can get a better mold on another line.
  20. The first day of games for the USA Hockey Select 16 festival concluded. Some potential recruits to look out for that stood out today were Zach Budish with three points along with Nick Mattson, Sam Alfieri, and Connar Gaarder with a point each. Remember that each team only played one game.
  21. Gregoire would be a making a huge step coming in this year because he hasn't played a full season in the USHL. I think if he didn't get injured you could see him coming in and they could hold out on Hextall, but Frattin, Malone, and Trupp have all played a full year or two of juniors. Also remember that you're tight on roster spots. If Duncan and Oshie would've have left you might have seen Gregoire come in.
  22. You can keep Hamilton off the list, he's not on the team. If Lee stays, I wouldn't be surprised to see Genoway on the second line. The reason I am saying this is because along with Oshie, Duncan, VandeVelde, and Watkins, he has proven that he can play well in the WCHA on a consistent basis. Most of the other current fowards on the team haven't done so and have been inconsistent. The other guy to wing the top line that I could see would be Miller or Frattin, because Frattin appears to be a sniper. Although I think Forney has a lot of potential, I think that the fact he is coming back from surgery and was to skinny last year puts him at to much of a flight risk on one of the top two lines.
  23. I completely agree, I'm not saying that we should recruit all top talent, we need those four year players for veteran leadership, you're right there needs to be a mix. What I was saying is in response to some of the comments earlier that it is a loss to not get a top end talented player that we held out a scholarship for.
  24. Nash is a loss and the coaches would agree with me on it. It's obvious the Edmonton Oilers saw something in him when they took him in the first round. Sometimes I don't understand the whole have to stay four years argument with some of the people on this board. Are you guys going to tell me Parise, Toews, Zajac, Stafford, Smaby, Bochenski, Greene were all losses because they didn't stay four years, those guys have anchored our teams the last five years. If you want to watch a team of four year guys, go watch St. Cloud or Mankato, the realty is is the best teams in the WCHA are the one's that are taking the best talent.
  25. The USHL put out it's draft guide today, they had a nice preview on Malone, here is the link http://www.ushl.com/news/0607/20070620NHLDraftProfile.pdf
