Field goal team is out. Delay of game makes it 4th and goal from the 7 (field goal was made during the whistle, fyi).

  2. Glendale is just too far from Phoenix and the East Valley to drive out there 40 times a year. The NFL Cards work because its only 8+ games a year. Glendale is a problem, not Phoenix.

Miami is worse than LA for society seekers that want to be seen. The Heat worked there when they had LeBron, but come a few losing seasons they will struggle at the gate like the Dolphins, Marlins, and Panthers. The Panthers need to sign a big celebrity to make it cool. Rocco probably won't do.

Raleigh and the Research Triangle are growing like a weed. The franchise is putting down roots with the younger crowd, which can't afford season tickets yet.

Exactly the East Valley suburbs alone have 1.2 million people the West Valley suburbs have 687,000 with the city of Phoenix splitting the valley. They should have built that arena where they bulit the new Salt River Fields near the 202/101 interchange in South Scottsdale. During rush hour traffic it takes 1 hour to go from Mesa (largest suburb) to Glendale, add a 30 minute drive back after the game it gets to be a pretty long day. Plus AZ's strict DUI laws it just isn't worth it. Glendale sold there soul to sports and are paying for it today.

  3. "or if you have an iphone or a phone that can download apps, you can download the "I heart radio" app and listen to Hennesy on 96.1 the fox."

Yes I just got a samsung galaxy 3 & have not used the ear phones - does the Ralph have wi fi ?

Just so you know we installed a repeater inside REA many years ago but since changed the frequency due to interference with other stations...96.5 FM provides with the best sound as the antenna is installed just above the scoreboard. When tuning into plain old 96.1 especially in the lower bowl the signal can be pretty weak.

  4. They'll stay if they are making money. Grand Forks is stealing a lot of passengers from Winnipeg and southern Manitoba. If they continue that trend United will make money and will be happy. This should cut travel time for people going west, which will be appealing to many people.

Candians can also earn Air Canada miles on United so look for them to take advantage of that. Have to wonder how long it will take Delta to add a SLC flight like they did in Fargo, Bismarck, and a short time in Minot?

  5. 7,400 for the University of South Dakota...............a match-up of two Top 25 teams..........for the conference title.............for the 109th time.........for the last time ever............................

This is evidence to me that most potential attendees of a North Dakota football game (save for those that post on this site) really don't give a rip about who we are playing...................

I hope that the fact UND is eligible for playoffs next year creates some buzz and gets the Alerus back to what it was.

  6. On August 5, 2005, the NCAA deemed "hostile and abusive" monikers of "racial/ethnic/nation origin" derivation.

The NCAA can't figure out that Irish and Vandals fit that criteria, but they'd surely figure it out for UND if it picked "Norsemen".

That is why those countries will hold a referendum and support the name or get the ambassadors from those countries to approve of it

  7. I was at the game tonight, and I have to say the we definitely have some young, up and coming talent on our team. The only two main draw backs I saw tonight was the lack of experience and size, both of the issues will be resolved eventually. I think by this time next week we will know a little more about this young team and what their potential might be for this season. I have to say I was impressed at the way they moved the puck around to create opportunities. With that said, I thought the new video screen looked amazing! I also noticed that the sound was also remarkably better, did we also get ne speakers in the Ralph?

Some new speakers (ones that caught on fire) plus new Crown Amps.

  8. This is probably already well known by the hockey crowd on this site, but Mark Chipman, who heads up True North Sports, is a UND alum and former Sioux football player..........

Seriously? Being a PHX Coyotes fan I guess the Winnipeg/Manitoba Whatstheirnames will become my second favorite team....What year did he graduate?

  9. Are the WCHA playoffs considered post season play? I thought post season play would be for the National tournament not conference playoffs.

The WCHA playoffs are considered post season play but are not subject to NCAA governance (ex: The NCAA doesn't tell the WCHA or any conference for that matter what format their tournament will be)

  10. Phoenix GM is interested in signing him. That doesnt mean he'd join them for the playoffs, in fact there is basically no way they'd bring him in for the playoffs. He'll get a 2-way contract and start out in Texas in the AHL.

Thats no secret, but these claims that he's already signed are stupid unless there from a real source, which since were going on 2 days clearly wasnt a real source. It was speculation. ANYONE can speculate.

Can't bring him in for the Stanley Cup playoffs because it is past the trade deadline...Players have to be within the organization before the trade deadline to play in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
