  1. I was TRYING to leave, dammit. When you read, is there a little voice that hurls words opposite of what is written? I'm sure it has a lot of good ideas, but when it comes to reading it should not be trusted. I wrote: We ALL can do more. And then you go and write: Again, how about getting back to personal accountibility and responsibility and going from there whether your white, black, red or green. And don't get all pissy about my tone or attitude; remember, you're the anti-PC person. Now, back to unity! Yay!
  2. My friend, I just want to reiterate that i don't think the leadership on the reservation, the capitol building, city council, etc. has done anything for any of us. We need unity, not division. We all can do more. I know I can do more. Let's focus on the quality of life for all of us. I better stop my opining here, before I lock another thread. I love everybody, man! Are you getting this air? [inhales deeply]
  3. They, they, they, They, THEY, they...I guess we should just give up, then? If you can tell, I'm not PC. I have one of the highest thread-lock/post ratio on the board. Somehow, the anti-PCers can write racist nonsense (not you, specifically) but have difficulty digesting the opinion of others with mirror image views. If you don't like PC, then don't expect a PC retort. It goes both ways.
  4. Great. A race war just broke out in my living room thanks to your post. So, only whites care about families? Forget about the logo - forget that its a neat logo, forget that it looks cool on a coffee mug, forget that it is central to many arguments - the fact is, NO leaders, NO whites, NO Native Americans, NO blacks, no anybody have stepped-in to unite the people. You see a reservation full of a group of people with their own problems, with an invisible fence along the border that will electrocute any whites who offer help or friendship. Do you have a problem with the people of Detroit or Flint, MI? I mean, they lost their jobs, so it's their responsibility to go out and create a new car company, right? Oh wait, we should only feel for those people because they have a bigger impact on our economy and your low-interest financing. If you took the ACTs you would know about reading comprehension, because I spelled it out clearly that there are no leaders worth anything right now. Period. Still, happy day!
  5. So now that your done pointing your finger, and you know the "REAL issues" of Indian culture, how are YOU going to help ease the "continued cultural problems" of our fellow people? Don't forget about the lack of leadership from white people, your 4 alcoholic uncles, the three cousins you have who dropped out of school because of drugs and teenage pregnancy blah blah blah. What humanity needs is a leader, any leader, who can lead us all in the pursuit of happiness...Start by being a leader at home, and don't teach your children the nonsense you hoarked in your post. Happy Day!
  6. Hate to burst your bubble, but i think brett favre is married - or he doesn't date fans, one of the two. I think the only reason the packers have sold out so many games is because they're the only place with indoor plumbing - gotta shower somewhere, right?
  7. Dead Rabbit, a UND hockey fan should have the good sense to travel 70 miles north to attend a decent school, even if it means changing your major from taxidermy to mortuary science. Your "At least I'm one step better than a guy whose second favorite hockey team is the gophers" reasoning is inept and pitiful. At least Dave K. likes UND football AND UND hockey first and foremost. Besides Dave K, I know I'm not the only one who was rooting for the Gophers last year against Air Force, hoping for a Sioux/Gophs regional final--I LOVE LOVE LOVE watching the two teams square off when it counts the most because I know UND will out play, out hustle and straight pound the hell out of them. My gopher fan "friends" cringe whenever there's a sioux matchup looming. BTW, if you don't have a gopher fan to watch a UND/Gopher game with, I highly suggest you go find yourself one (can easily be found at a local Menard's near the beer bong building section, or at Bed Bath & Beyond, near the beer bong building section) because the look on their feeble faces trying to find an excuse is terrific. Cheering against Holy Cross was impossible, tho. All teams from Michigan and Massachusetts can also eat it.
  8. Will Hakstol be looking to fill Toews' skates with someone who is as defensively capable as he was, or does he get a headache like me after he fills out "Depth Chart, Line 1: Duncan, Oshie, and..." and quits? it's a lot of talent to sort through, and finding the identity of this team will be a chore. A good chore
  9. I don't think uaa and uaf will ever play in the same league--imagine having back-to-back road trips to alaska... scheduling non-conference games with each other, holiday tournaments would probably work better for them.
  10. the Canadian Hockey League, which is made-up of the Western Hockey, Quebec Major Junior Hockey and the Ontario Hockey Leagues, I believe. I'm sure there are plenty of obstacles and objections with the ages of the players, though.
  11. I think adding CHL teams would give the Vancouver EA team more incentive to make the game

  13. or Then: "Dots? Well, I suppose a couple dots can't hurt nothing" Now: "GIMME MORE DOTS! I mean, I'm sorry, baby. Just gimme some more dots and I won't bother you anymore..."
  14. PBS Frontline: Spying on the Home Front http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/homefront/view/
  15. the NSA then pays choicepoint a hefty sum to use that information. Frontline just did a report, "Spying on the Homefront," and had a segment on choicepoint. It was very interesting and frightening. HockeyMom, you haven't done anything wrong, you shouldn't have to worry, and yet THEY don't care - they still treat you as though you were a criminal. ... "Adherence to our values is what distinguishes us from our enemy." -Gen. Petraeus
  16. Just so you know, they filter EVERY phone call in the US, and probably in many other countries. If Hockey Mom doesn't want her right to protection against warrantless wiretapping, I'll take her share. You say you've done nothing wrong and they can look in your bank accounts, email, phone records, financial reports, mortgage statements, etc., but you don't realize that you are forking over your constitutional rights. Nobody has the right to search your private info without a warrant.
  17. Here's something to think about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIO4vRXkrX4 NOBODY is safe from this, and everybody is a suspect. What do you think?
  18. Well, now Ruff can't play Stafford, barring injury, because he should do as little line-up manipulation as possible and allow his players a chance to figure out their roles. I say Ruff should take credit for 2 of the losses in this series (u pick 'em) just from over-coaching.
  19. I agree. The Ducks are the dirtiest team in hockey, and they know how to get under the opposition's skin. Detroit didn't take the bait, and unfortunately didn't score 11 goals. The Wings have so much leadership, even Bertuzzi decided not to go after any Ducks - I was amazed at the focus they had, even with a four goal lead, as I was praying that someone would take Pronger out. The Wings know this is Anaheim's MO, and refuse to go in any direction not pointed towards the Stanley Cup. Also, the Redwings are very capable vs the 1-2-2, and will be well equipped to play Ottawa, if they win the series. I thought the Sabres were a bit too cutesy also, but mainly I felt they were trying to match-up too much and not playing their style that got them there. Stafford HAS to play this next game - they need as much offense as they can get. Usually, they wouldn't need to score first because of their high-octane offense, but they definitely have to get out the gate in a hurry. Loosen-up their collective sphincters on the PP, make smart passes, get some guys in front of the net and shoot the puck! Then try limiting the time on PK because Ottawa is the man on PP. If Toews leaves this year, at least we'll get the satisfaction of seeing him deke Pronger out of his jock once or twice. God, I hate that guy and I hate his flowy, shiny head of hair that he waves around whenever putting on his helmet. I hate that guy.
  20. Redwing, did you or anybody else get a chance to see the Isles/Sabres last game where, in the final period an Isles goal was disallowed? From the replay it looked like the puck was in the net by the time the ref waved off the play. What happened there - the replays didn't have sound so I couldn't tell when the whistle blew. I'm assuming he blew the whistle and THEN waved off the play. It was a critical point in the game, though. And would it be too much to ask for a NJ/TB game? Just one? All I've seen so far are the highlites. The Stanley Cup playoffs are so intense and so much fun to watch; the best part is that it only gets rougher and generally less chippy deep in the playoffs.
  21. I wonder if Selanne's head wound was from the shot he took in the head during warm-ups??? Perhaps it split open after a hit. The Wild announcers are big-time homers. When you listen to woog doing UND games, he gets pretty excited - he always mentions the "Trees" UND had in defensemen Jones, Smaby, Greene, Schneider, Commodore and the like, and he gives the UND program a lot of credit. But he did coach at the U, so of course his main focus is on the gophers. Backstrom was great. the wild will have a good problem this offseason figuring which of backstrom, harding, and fernandez to deal.
  22. I have no idea what happened here...Pretty funny, nonetheless. Matt Greene interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HYJ7YmfngI
  23. Stu doesn't like to bend the rules, so I guess we're gonna have to wait 'til spring (which won't be until late june, I think). Until then, stay warm! What about, "Go Up-For-Interpretation!"?
  24. ok. Fine. Riverbend Golf Course. 9th hole. 2 AM tonight! Be there! Mascot will not provide shelter or beer.
