  1. Great article, it is always fun to read things like this written about former Sioux players.

I wonder if they have heard Fabian yet! :) Good article though. It is nice that they can be so close to each other and not compete.

  2. This could be a stretch and doesn't really go with the sighting, but if you look on the USHL site you'll notice that Gregoire did not dress in either of Lincoln's games this weekend. There is nothing on the team sight about him being out of the lineup, so maybe, just maybe, he was visiting. Like I said its a stretch, but its possible.

I thought that too, but it didn't really look a whole lot like him when I looked over there last night.

  3. BTW: Does anyone have an idea why their goalie layed down in front of the net for 3 minutes in the first period? They even showed a replay and there was nothing there.

I was standing in the upper bowl student section and then watching the replay and it looked to me like he had bent his right leg wrong when going down and landed on it wrong. I could be wrong about it though.

BTW: we did have brad alberwhatever.

  4. One can only hope that it doesn't completely screw up everything the first time like PeopleSoft. Seriously, UND maybe would have been better sticking with ALFI which we had before. I know they didn't have a choice, but seriously.....

It makes me so mad sometimes.

  5. Got back from the game a little bit ago. I agree with you guys. I thought for sure that Lammy wouldn't be playing after the second tonight, but what do I know. The team didn't really show up tonight, lots of roughing penalties that didn't need to happen. Hopefully, Hak can get them going for tomorrow. It was interesting to see Finley get knocked flat at one point. Let's move on to tomorrow and get a win though.

On a side note, the cowbell guy was back in action tonight.

  6. Brad states in his blog today that it looks like Chay is at forward for this weekend barring any injury to a defensemen. Also, nice quote by Phil on Ben Bishop also:

"He's Joe Finley in pads." -Phil Lamoureux's assessment of 6-foot-7 Maine goaltender Ben Bishop.
  7. I apologize in advance if anybody feels this should be in the Tickets forum. It's ticket related, but I'm not looking to buy....yet.

My question is this: Are all Sioux games sold out in advance by season ticket holders / students or are there some available through the box office near game day?

I am planning on coming home to GF for T-Day and want to catch the CC series. Do I need to try and get tickets from somebody now or can a guy just buy some from The Ralph when I come to town?

    Thanks!

You should be ok, I know that this year any tickets the students don't buy before the week before the week of the game go onsale to the public. For example, any students wanting tickets for this weekend should have gotten them last week.

  8. QUOTE(dagies @ Oct 14 2006, 10:38 PM) *

Toews was a man among boys at times.

Just for the record, he was the youngest player on the ice last night.

Other than that, I agree with what you're saying. Nice summary dagies.

Toews is generally considered a superior player because of the age difference. Again most people just don't realize how young he really is. He is the second youngest player on this team and only by a few weeks.

Forney and Grieco are both younger than him. But he is definitely considered an awesome player for his age.

  9. Speaking of adding inches.......Ryan Duncan is listed at 5'6". I'm 5'6" and when he went by me in the players' box with his skates on, I was still taller than him.

I agree, they have bina listed as 5'8" on the roster, but the last time i saw him, i was almost eye level with him and i am nowhere close to that tall.

Either way though, 6'5" or 6'7", he is still going to make our goalies look like shrimps.

  10. I think UND fans posting here need to stop talking about how great the Badger fans are and get your asses in gear at the Ralph. I am living in the Chicago area and try to get up to the Kohl whenever we are playing there and am always amazed by the atmosphere. Seriously, what would it take to change things at the Ralph? I lived in TX a few years ago and went to an A&M bonfire where I learned that the A&M fans get together on Friday nights for Cheer Practice. The campus wreaked of school pride. Badgers are stiff Norweigens too right?? I wish I were in GF to help out. Get it going guys. Make the fans of other teams talk about how amazing the Sioux fans are, etc... or I guess we can just keep talking about the Badger fans........

Speaking of Badger fans, I had a group yelling at me saying NORTH DAKOTA.......SUCKS over and over again. When they were done, shortly after all the fans were saying Racist Mascot and Sue is a womans name I yelled back and said, you are Hostile and Abusive fans. I felt pretty good about it and they actually laughed with me when I said it! :-) I wish I had more Sioux fans with me so we could have responded to the Racist Mascot chants with NCAA Appeasers chants or something like that. Maybe we need to throw red paint on them like PETA does to people who wear fur in public? That might be pretty funny actually for Badger and Gopher and other animal named teams for that matter! They are abusing poor Bucky. Bucky's face looks much more Hostile than our Sioux logo.

During the Saturday game the fans started with the Sioux is a womans name and then later started saying Sioux is a whore. If I would've had more support I was thinking we could've said Just like your mom or Your Mom's Name Must be Sue back to them or something....?

Ah well, would you guys figure out a way to get the entire Ralph cheering in unison? C'mon, get it goin!

We try, trust me we try. it is hard though when you get some people who use the game as more of a social thing, then being there for the game. I do agree though, we need to work together to make a great atmosphere.

  11. How/where do we sign up for the link? I assume we have to register since it brings up a login/password box when I hit the 'click here' link. Is this all we have (for just 100 people!?!)? Dataflix no longer carries the games? I am not in nodak anymore but need my sioux fix - any help is appreciated ???

it is for the home games only, i believe.

  12. Bina was called for elbowing, though i think what they are referring to is later in the game when the people speaking for the tv said that he should have gotten called for checking from behind but no call was ever made. All in all, it is hockey and you are going to get some tough hits so get used to it.

  13. Well that just royally sucks :D. The disadvantage of living in Minot. And I even remember that I use to able to watch the Wisconsin away series through FSSN via FSN North Feed. Looks like it's the radio for me.

the disadvantage, you mean besides never getting any UND sports updates even on nights when MSU isn't playing. Just joking. It is usually radio for me when i am there because we don't get cable just dish. I can't convinced the parents that an extra package is needed for sioux sports.

  15. I had posted something ealier saying we need the crowd that was at the west regionals at every sioux game and that I hope they fire someone, wedding music at hockey games IS NOT ALLOWED!! Seriously! Make a effin CD or whatever of good music for A HOCKEY GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Can it be that hard

Or if the players get too choose the music, they all probably have ipods that have their favorite music on them and it isn't that hard to hook one up to something to play from that or just make the cd from their music folder on their computer.
