Absolutely agree. it makes no sense that if that team scores again that it negates the need to review the previous question. I would find this surprising. There's no accounting for the events that could have followed the original goal. There could be hurricanes in China as a result. Seems like they would have to turn the clock back...

You can't replace a guy like Gregoire, but as is the saying, if someone goes down it opens up an opportunity for someone else. There are some guys who aren't playing much, or aren't playing roles they hoped to be in, this gives some guys a Pipp chance. Or would that be a Gehrig?

Totally agree. There are a number of people, I'm sure both in the news and outside of the news, that worked in support of UND keeping the nickname. They owed us nothing, but for their own reasons they fought for UND to keep using the nickname and for that I am very much appreciative.

Looks like the NCAA took the cop out answer "don't blame us, blame your state board" when in fact the State Board's actions were precipitated by the NCAA decree. That said, looks like it's the state board that has to be encouraged to change, here....

I forwarded the link to the Herald story and copy of the letter to the Mpls Strib. Can't hurt to try and appeal to other newspapers to pick up on the story, though unlikely it may be that any action will be taken. Yes, they were probably already aware but at least we know the information is in front of them.
