Congratulations to the US team. I wouldn't have given them much chance after the first two games. In fact, I kind of thought we'd be having our D back for CC. Nice recovery for the US team.
I admittedly am not that familiar with many of the players on the US team. Anyone else surprised that Jack Johnson was one of the 3 shoot-outers for the US? I would have guessed there would be another forward chosen. He did fine, though.
I enjoy watching shoot-outs in NHL games, but would hate to see a tournament game of this quality decided that way.
Who's going to make the first mistake?
Canada has just missed on too many chances through the first 2 periods in the short periods I've checked in. You just know the US needs to find the net at least 1 more time this period to win, and I'm not counting ENG.
US player did some nice dangling in the offensive zone on the PP, but got a little too pretty up near the blue line and coughed up the puck for a great scoring chance SH for Canada. Frazee held his ground, fortunately.
From what I've picked up reading posts on the BCHL board Rawlings is having, or was having, a pretty average season, resulting in being traded from Salmon Arm.
I'd like to see a sweep, and it may be necessary for tourney hopes. Right now I'd be happy with a split, and 2 well-played games. To me, at least that would show the Sioux are on track.
