I didn't see the play. This is Brad Schlossman's write-up from his blog. If it happened this way, how could this goal have counted? If he hit the goalie, and the puck FOLLOWED him into the net, wouldn't his interfering with the goalie have caused the goal, thereby resulting in a no goal call? What was the deal here?

Fortunately, Spirko's goal was a legal play.

It really helps that the Sioux have managed to turn things around a bit. At least we can feel like they have shored up some weaknesses in their game that were hurting them a few weeks ago. Next weekend is a huge test but I think it's a good time for the Sioux to face it. We'll see if they are up for it but I'm much more confident than 2 or 3 weeks go. Must keep our composure while playing edgy.

Wow, great to get in and read this thread. I was pretty down reading the 2-0 Beaver lead, but a very nice comeback. Looks like the Sioux still got themselves in penalty trouble, and the PK has to be better, IMO. What, 6-1-1 in the last 8? It's a nice reversal of where things where earlier. Next week is a super test. #1 team on the road. We need to be competitive. If the Sioux can manage a split I think that would be just grand, all things considered. Hopefully they'll play with confidence and with that edge, but still keep their heads. MN is going to play with a bit of chippiness, and the Sioux can't get out of their game. If they take too many penalties it could make for a long weekend, even if MN's PP isn't quite what it was the last couple of years. Tonite there are goals from our 2 stars who have the weight of expectations, and then the defense kicks in heavily in contributions. Last night it was a star and the lower lines kicking in. It's the right direction. NDH is right, someone's got the bus on right road, now just keep it MOVING.

It seems like anytime there's a goalie getting run, Minnesota is involved.

From the USCHO box score, I noticed this: Someone may have tried to explain this to me once but I've forgotten. If Lammy scurries off the ice on a delayed penalty call does someone actually time how much time he spends off the ice?

Are the fans going to blame this on Wisconsin's system too? Wow, just reading this thread at 1am got my adrenaline pumping. What, we lost and won against CC, tied and won against AA, maybe we can win and win against Bemidji, and start to put this role together.

This is maybe going to come out sounding all wrong, but it's interesting that 3 shoot-out goals can change the perception of a player's whole game.

Every year I would like to make it and again this year I have a work function that will get in the way. Would have been fun to see you there, Shawn-O. Last time we met before a game our team won.

I agree with the "any seat is good" comments. If you go to hockey games you understand the risk of sitting too low in the corners and depending where you are trying to look through the glass/posts to the other end of the rink. I sat in the end club level seats for the Frozen Four in 2002 and those are excellent seats. You get a great perspetive on the action from that angle/height.

I thought it was "anything less than a win is unexceptable".
-
Get a lot of empty seats in your section, do you?

JFR, you look like you don't like snow very much.

I'm going from memory here but wasn't there a policy in the last couple of years where the coaches couldn't go out in the lineup to shake hands or something like that? Maybe they just decided to head to the hot tub as soon as they shook the Sioux coaches' hands.

I'm sorry but this just rings hollow with me. I watched both these games on the web and it appeared to me that AA was equal to UND in "chippiness". Start with Beaverson's crosschecking Fabian even after the whistle, then kicking him in the head with his skate. That was early in the game.

Hak: Good effort start to finish Looking for some nastiness in our lineup. Got some last night and it carried through tonite. Thought Kaip did a great thing for the team tonite. Good to get the 2 points. Standing up for your teammates expands through the rest of the bench. Guys got in Lawson's face and got him off his game. We haven't had enough of this attitude this year. We're not a team that offensively can blow people out, but we can be a tough team to play against. Our team needs to play physical and at a high tempo, and that gets them excited. We were pretty tough on Chris Porter after last night's game, so was nice to see a great play by Watkins and Porter on that goal. Happy for him. A month ago it was gut check time and we were below .500. To this point we've answered that gut check but need to keep this up to climb out of the hole we're in. Porter: Huge win Wanted to match AA's intensity and physicalness for 60 minutes Felt I let the team down last night, so wanted to get one tonite. Great to see Kaip get into it. Was a little worried for him at first but he did just fine. I definitely wouldn't want to be fighting him. Was great to see Darcy step in for me. We have a lot of guys like that. We were more physical team from the start tonite.

Wow, quite a roundhouse miss by Jones. This game is about ready to explode.
-
Are we seeing the awakening of the feisty Zajac we thought we were getting? Porter's hit looked legal, and then 2 AA players throw elbows at him, and Zajac comes in and is ready to go with the AA player, but the refs step in. It's the second time tonite I've seen Zajac getting feisty with an opponent.

Incredible move by a snakebitten player. Oshie embarrasses the D and puts it backhand off the crossbar.
-
We gave AA way too much at the end of that period. Hopefully we can come out and establish control at the start of the new period.

Sioux kill the penalty and AA goes right in. Sioux PP. Let's pile on.
