  1. Kind of on the same topic there are still a lot of students who believe that Lamoureux's undiscloused leg injury was actually caused by a fight with a UND football player
  2. Hope he doesn't let the door hit his ass on the way out!
  3. What is the schools policy on torches in the union....you know for the mob...kind of like the one in the waterboy
  4. Where and when is the riot starting?
  5. Too many issues with your dumba$$ post to list them all. 1. Hick fans... that's a bold statement coming from a fan for a state that has the most obese citizens in the country. 2. Hick fans....the only good looking women I saw on TV were wearing green...some good looking Sioux fans definitely not BC fans and the only good looking Badger fans come from Minnesota or Illinois...a good looking Badger fan is purely by accident. 3. The reason why we think anyone who rips on the Sioux is a Gopher fan is because the teams both have a good history...although we consider the Goofers to be our biggest rival most Sioux fans still have respect for the U's quality program. To be quite honest I have little respect for the Wisconsin program. You may have a strong Goalie this year that has brought you far but it will end sooner than you would like. You must be Hallucinating to think you guys could ever amount to what the Sioux, Gophers, Wolverines, and Pioneers have ever amounted too. (Sorry I
  6. The funny thing is if the named has to change I don't think there would be a big change at hockey games. People would probably still call the team the Sioux for a good while. (My grandpa still calls the wild the North Stars on occasion) The Ralph or the school could never afford to take the logos out of the arena and replace them. The Ralph still hasn't fixed the Sioux head light on the home side and what are we going to do with the Sitting Bull monument....guess we should put that statue of Ralph there....maybe the NCAA and BRIDGES would be willing to foot those bills...I don't know. But Bunny Rabbits, Bambi, and over political Psychology majors who oppose the name can live in harmony without hostile and abusive nicknames and frolic in the woods under rainbows.
  7. Yeah I'm in Puerto Rico right now and this forum is my lifeline to the game
  8. I'm sure this has been discussed before but i am just wondering what the real deal is with the arena if the name changes.
  9. Check out Paulo's in East Grand its much better than Paradiso and Tortilla Flats. Its located next to Cabellas. Excellent food and usually pretty good service. On a side note i have an ongoing joke with a friend from California because the California Mexican food is " a little more mexican" than the food in mexico.
  10. I would love to see the Ralph get rid of the student section....the crowd has seemed to be shirnking and shrinking over the past three years i have been a student here. It looks like the apeal of the Ralph is rapidly diminishing. I know the management is not stupid but if someone got that in their head i would think they would have to be drug out to the street and shot for being so stupid. That is taking the college out of college hockey. The difference between a college hockey game between an NHL game is the tradition and the cheers. Taking the students out of the arena would be hilarious. Now im not serious so nobody burn me at the stake here. But in all seriousness if that happened i would buy tickets and drop a pin every min and i bet you would hear 55 of those 60 pins if the student section were remove where you would only hear 50 of those pins with the current student section. Now as an actual reply to this post if the student section were to be reduce the prices would probably have to be reduced on other season tickets to fill up the stands or they would have to do what the twins do at the big inflatable toilet and throw up a sheet. If someone got creative they could paint an inebriated student section onto that sheet with some "well thought out constructive vulgarities" and we could have the same atmosphere as we do now.
  11. I am a student and 3 time season ticket holder and am quite unsatisfied with the performance of students and non students alike for the past 3 years. First off with the students there are some really big morons with student tickets. Its unfortunate that a few drunks have to ruin the experience and swear. I know everyone on this forum agrees with me that the "who's he" chant has got to be one of the most classless and ineffective cheers of all times. It's too bad that so many people think public vulgarity is a fun time. The problem with the students is that half of them just go to games for the "social experience" and dont care about hockey. The same im sure goes for many of the season ticket holders. The Ralph resembles too much of a Minnesota Wild game (a lot of people use it to raise above the jones' on the social ladder). It has that NHL atmosphere. Not the college atmosphere. I know gopher games are much like the same and the only thing they have above us is that annoying M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A chant. Our fans have been embarresed by Minnesota fans, Wisconsin fans, and Bemidji fans. Thats just plain unexceptable. I dont know what the old chants used to be but i think they need to come back. Our games just dont have the tradition that other schools have with their chants. I personally think that student and season ticket holders need to come to this meeting. Students to learn what a good chant is and Season ticket holders to learn the Ralph is not a fine dineing establishment. I think Altru should provide defribulators. I have always thought that the student section should be behind the nets. This would solve many standing isssues. I think the prices should raise for student tickets to maybe weed out a few people who treat the ralph as a bar. I think the school should assemble a "sioux crew" for hockey games to come up with new cheers and maybe get some alumni to bring back the old.
  12. After viewing this forum for a while now i have decided to finally post. Personally i dont think this was that bad of a weekend we showed improvement in a few places that will help later on. Gopher fans think this was there best weekend and i laugh about that and was not very impressed. They did however start each game very strong and score. They had good passing and were able to capitalize on it when they would catch our players out of position. I am not very impressed with Briggs at all. I think the only thing keeping them in the game was the amount of shot blocked by the gophers. There were a few times i was thinking i was watching soccer when there would be 3 yellow side by side. I think the Gophers forwards have a much better save percentage than Briggs himself. Toews was smoking on friday night and was not able to get one in. He hit the pipe so many times but was just an inch off on many. I also noticed on friday night how our powerplay has improved. The goals werent there but the passing improved. I dont remember who scored on friday night on the powerplay from the point, i think it was actually spirko. They worked the puck, got a gopher out of postion an scored. Thats how its done. Im excited to see it work in future games. The sioux powerplay will be huge later in the year. Its too bad we couldn't pull one off on both of those 6-4 oppurtunites. On Saturday if we could have had a full two minutes i think it would have happend. On friday night with Stoa i think we just need to make sure Parise and the D are getting trash like that out of the crease. Parise should have hacked him behind the knee a few more times. He was really good at that as a Freshman. One thing im a fan of is that the Band was pretty effective at killing the F-the gophers chants, with lets go sioux. I am also glad this series didn't end like it did with Denver. We showed more class this time. Not impressed with Irmen though. Haven't seen many go into the box like him where the students were heckling him and he gives a cocky point at the scoreboard. Much like Paukovich flipping off the students at the end of the DU series. I think a sweep at Mariucci would be sweet. If i were a gopher fan i would be a little scared because i think we may return the favor next time.
