  1. Great post ND PRIDE, just one thing to add I don't know if any of you notice the times those posts are completed. You will often find the site updated at 2:30 in the morning or one day I saw a 4:15 a.m. update on there. These sheets take time to be entered. We need to realize that Bob has a different job, he isn't a full time statistician who slaves over the computer everyday waiting for each scoresheet to be faxed into him. Sure it can be frustrating when we log on a day or two after the game and there are no stats or sometimes a score from that game but blaming it all on Bob is just out of line, maybe some of the blame needs to go to Fargo South head coach Dean Wilson he is too busy to send his schedule in .
  2. "this is a website set up for all people wanting to post their views on hockey of all forms"
  3. He was diagnosed with cancer last March in December WDAY had a nice story on how he still tried to help with the hockey team. It's just sad to see it happen to such a good kid like Sean. His condition worsened considerably in the past couple weeks, the family was prepared for his passing.
  4. I'm not sure if you are all aware of this by Tony Deichert (father of South goaltender Sean Deichert) passed away early this afternoon, and I would just like to post my condolences to him and his family through this rough time. I've known Tony for many years and he was an amazing goaltender, but more importantly a better man, father, and husband.
  5. Mark Mihulka, needs a little work on some of the intangibles but is a big physical player who also is very good with the puck. I see him improving and maybe getting an opportunity. There are also a couple sophomore d around the state that have some potential later down the road (Galbreath, Ladoucer, Swanson).
  6. Thats a bold analysis, you are definitely going out on a limb with that one
  7. I was also at this game and I think the refs did a fabulous job of letting these kids play last night. It was a physical and intense game and the officials did a good job of letting it stay that way. West Fargo must have came out flat do to the fact that 4th is almost sealed, however now North has improved their odds greatly of catching the Packers. Goaltending was the major difference in this game in my opinion. Hokoum who was very strong against Shanley the first time I saw him seemed a little shakey last night I'm sure he'd like to have Klein's powerplay goal back and maybe attempt a poke check on Fisher walking out of the corner. On the other end of the ice Welk was phenomenal, puzzling the Pack all night. Despite the win I still do not think they can threat to make state this year. They definitely began to shy away when WF picked up the physical play in the 2nd period, West Fargo's problem right now is their inability to score, they've scored 1 goal against South, Red River, and Grafton combined. In their last 4 games they've scored 7 times thats including 5 vs Mandan. This is gonna be a fun Region Tournament. Also does anybody know what happened to WF forward Alex Olson, I noticed he was not in the lineup last night, and can somebody tell me how Shanley managed 52 shots and only 1 goal?
  8. This is gonna sound weird but is there anything on Jamestown and Wahpeton tonight? Right now I'd have to give kudos to the West Fargo coaching staff this team is not a 4th place team talent wise, but they've scrapped their way through and found a way to win close games. I think Ross Richards would be a very deserving candidate of coach of the year, and I have known Capouch since he ran the teamsters arena and he does f fabulous job of coaching, one of those old time guys. I also believe Troy Miller is on there bench, he coached youth hockey in West Fargo for years and is an all around good guy. Big game tomorrow night for the Spartans they could improve their odds greatly of being the 5 seed if they steal one in WF tomorrow, hopefully my son and I will make it over there to see if we still have a dog in the 5 seed fight.
  9. Attended the South-Grafton game tonight as I listened to Red River and Central, boy technology these days . After watching Grafton I think we should stop mentioning them as a strong state title contender. Red River and South are the teams to watch. Too bad south only played 49 minutes and 54 seconds tonight a 4 goal margin to work with is a lot better then the 2 goal advantage they hold over Red River as of right now. Red River was up 6-3 with about two minutes left in the game when I stopped listening. Mihulka with 2 shorties tonight, closed circut to ND Pride, always love the coliseum humor.
  10. Only 1 and a half hours away. Two teams ready to go head to head. This game could give an advantage to the winner as they prepare to meet again in the post season. It will be the clash of two titans, the crowd will be electric, I bet these kids can't wait for the JV's to get off the ice. This is not just your ordinary high school hockey game this is Wahpeton and Jamestown! And you thought I was talking about Grafton and South
  11. I was just doing some figuring and I've realized that Central, North, and Shanley could all realistically finish with 12 pts. in the EDC. I see Shanley beating Jamestown but losing to North giving them there 12. I don't see North winning anymore with the exception of Shanley giving them there 12 pts. Central should beat Jamesotown, North, and get their 4 pt. win against Wahpeton giving them there 12. The tie breaker for this situation would be a mess, because Shanley has swept Central, North could sweep Shanley, and Central could sweep North. If anyone has any idea how that type of tie would be broken please post it on here.
  12. I'll start the predictions for tomorrow night, look for Coach Wilson to match lines with Grafton all night long. Grafton has struggled on the road this year with losses in Jamestown, Grand Forks, and a tie in Devils Lake. I think Kringstad will keep it close for a little bit but I expect the well oiled machine that is South to roll to a 4-0 win and claim the East Region title.
  13. ND Hockey Guy, you have inspired me, so here is the breakdown of the East down the stretch. Fargo South 8-1-0 20 pts. Grafton 1/26 Jamestown 1/31 at West Fargo 2/4 at Fargo North 2/9 Central 2/11 Red River 9-1-0 20 pts. at Central 1/26 Jamestown 1/28 at Wahpeton (4 pts.) 2/7 at Grafton 2/11 Grafton 7-3-0 18 pts. at Fargo South 1/26 West Fargo 2/2 at Central 2/9 Red River 2/11 West Fargo 7-4-0 16 pts. Fargo North 1/27 at Grafton 2/2 Fargo South 2/4 Jamestown 2/11 Fargo North 5-7-0 10 pts. at West Fargo 1/27 Central 2/2 at Fargo Shanley 2/4 Fargo South 2/9 Fargo Shanley 4-5-0 10 pts. at Jamestown 2/2 Fargo North 2/4 Grand Forks Central 2-6-0 4 pts. Red River 1/26 Wahpeton (4 pts.) 1/30 at Fargo North 2/2 at Jamestown 2/4 Grafton 2/9 at Fargo South 2/11 Jamestown 2-8-0 4 pts. Wahpeton 1/26 at Red River 1/28 at South 1/31 Shanley 2/2 Central 2/4 at West Fargo 2/11 Wahpeton 0 for the decade 0 pts. Play in Game 2/14
  14. Barring some sort of miracle Central cannot finish in the top 4. The 5 seed has now turned into the dogfight, I dont see anyway West Fargo can fall out of the top 4 with their win tonight. Although it will be interesting to see who finishes 5, because right now Central, North, and Shanley all are playing like they'd rather be a 7 seed come region tournament time. I still think West Fargo is vulnerable and these 3 teams should strive for that 5 seed to have their best shot at a potential upset. Once Shane returns I believe it will be Grand Forks Central's race to lose.
  15. Just got home from the South-Shanley game. The Bruins looked like a team possessed tonight, really bad timing for Shanley to get those guys coming off their first loss of the season. Tonight they looked like the team we all think they can be. Anybody at any of the other games to give recaps?
  16. Red River-6 North-0 South- 8 Shanley-0 Central 5 West Fargo 3 Willison 3 Minot 1 South 5 Grafton 2 Red River 4 Central 0
  17. Both Central and Red River play their home games at Purpur. Thursday is one of the better nights of high school hockey you'll see. The four premiere powers all playing each other on one night, you may just see these matchups again come February. Although Central may be overlooking West Fargo on Tuesday night. Rivalries aside West Fargo may be a bigger game for Grand Forks Central. Everyone will lose to Red River but Central needs to start picking up points to try to better their position come region tournament time. Minot and Williston also square off tomorrow night, I look for the Coyotes to have a minor upset and beat Minot. After all I believe this game is being played on their olympic ice.
  18. So basically South needs to win big against Grafton on Thursday night.
  19. Who would have thought we would have seen a Wisconsin sweep at any point in this season, the Badgers better hope Elliot is able to go this weekend otherwise they could be swept in Rodentbowl 2006.
  20. It's hard but I also congratulate NDSU on their win, about time the other ND school made it on SportsCenter. It just seems odd how in one week you can lose to Utah Valley State then beat the 15th ranked team in the nation. How bout the upsets on Saturday though, all three unbeatens fell except of course for our Sioux women, Red River beating Fargo South in boys hockey, Andy Roddick losing at the Australian Open, and to top it all off NDSU beating Wisconsin in basketball, just one of those days...
  21. How bout the Worcester and Green Bay regions, scary stuff right there I like UND's chances in the Grand Forks Regional.
  22. UW 28 46 UMN 28 41 Denver 28 36 CC 28 36 UND 28 34 SCSU 28 25 Mankato 28 19 UMD 28 17 MTech 28 15 AA 28 11 Read them and weep. Quite and interesting tool we have here, fun to see the possible outcomes, does anybody know how to set one of these up we could use one over on the High School Hockey board.
  23. Too bad to hear this hopefully everything works out for Jordy, he's a truly gifted player.
