  1. 1-0 Central with about 12 minutes left in the 2nd. Slominski with a power play goal off a nice feed from Sam Weden.
  2. You bring up good points, Grafton does seem to struggle when it comes to tournament time. You left out their opening round lost to a 6th seeded West Fargo in 2003. Maybe West Fargo will catch an exhausted Grafton team on Saturday. The Campbell's, Miller, and Hills were all logging a ton of ice time in those overtime sessions.
  3. A little unrelated but we got a shout out from Bob Gillen on his site! Link Our topic is finally in the big time .
  4. I believe Grafton has a major mental edge over West Fargo in an elimination type situation. The Packers only being to 1 state tournament in school history might not know how to handle the pressures of that game. I guarantee you the Spoilers would rather have to deal with West Fargo than Central on their home ice to go to state. I just think Grafton matches up much better against WF than GFC. Grafton has outscored the Packers 10-0 this year in their two meetings, and Central just upended Grafton last week.
  5. Sorry I'm a little uninformed in this topic but where exactly would these 4,000 seats go in the Alerus?
  6. Any thoughts on Red River-West Fargo tomorrow, tough draw for the Packers now to make state. I watched their game today and I truly believe this team deserves a spot in the state tournament. Boy is the deck stacked against them now. It's not every year where a team's three games at EDC consist of GFC, Red River, and GPR.
  7. I made a trip to the Red Pepper, what exactly did they do before the game?
  8. First off I would like to congratulate the North players and coaching staffs on winning this game. With this post I am not going to take anything away from North becuase they don't deserve that, but Grafton flat out threw this game tonight. You would think a coach would seem a little upset when the 6 seed a team you've beaten by over 6 goals in both previous meetings would be a little ticked off when they tie the game in the third period. Yet nothing from the bench odd to anyone else? How bout when you lose a game in two overtimes not even a gosh darnit or anything from his mouth. GPR did not want this game now listen to their line up North (day 1), Shanley (day 2), West Fargo (loser out) easy enough way to go. Listen to the line up they would've had North (day 1), South (day 2), GFC (day 3). I'm not just posting this because I'm pro Shanley I am however posting this because I am pro hockey. I'm sure this won't go over well with a lot of you.
  9. Games that intrigue me tomorrow: North vs. Grafton- Grafton has defeated the Spartans handily in their first two meetings but does anybody know how the Spoilers have played away from home. Losses at: Red River, Fargo South, Grand Forks Central, Jamestown, Osseo and a tie in Devils Lake. If North can keep the line of Campbell, Campbell, and Miller in check (which they have failed in their previous two meetings), and Welk can keep North in it there is potential for an upset. I still consider Grafton the favorite but I wouldn't be surprised if the Spartans prevail. Central vs. West Fargo- IMO this is the most even matchup the regional tournament has had on day one in quite some time. In both previous meetings West Fargo prevailed with one goal victories. However, this was before the Knights powered back with wins over Warroad and Grafton. I will be surprised if these teams combine to score five goals combined tomorrow. I think the first team to reach 3 will be your winner. Both teams are tenacious in the defensive zone, so scoring chances will be few and far between. Really a coin flip but I'm tending to favor the lower seed on home ice tomorrow. Wilbur anything on the west matchups? We are less than 24 hours away from the second season, Good Luck to all teams and players in their drive for the state tournament!
  10. These past couple days made me realize how much I am goin to miss High School Hockey in a couple weeks
  11. Aren't you late for your peewee b practice tonight?
  12. n : not very intelligent or interested in culture, see idiot
  13. I do not believe Klenow has any ties to the Jets organization other than his old team mate Elliot Okland. In any case I don't think they would pick him up solely for that reason. I do agree with almost everyone on here though, as you post some very valid points. It could be the Jets are not interested in his numbers this season because they have previously seen what his potential and his capabilities are. If they were indeed picking players on this years points there would be no doubt Klenow would be left off the list. IMO, they will not allow Klenow to suit up for any games this year. It will be difficult for him to adapt to the game in any time to help the team this season, and maybe they will try and polish him for next year. If you were to ask me, he's got the speed, it's the quickness he needs. Some of that could have to do with all the time he's been logging on the ice however. It's fun to speculate though. I love this time of year.

  17. When I was in peewees which seems like before the Eisenhower Administration at this point we hosted an outdoor tournament of 4 other teams. I lived in Chaska at the time and it was us, Edina East & West, and I wanna say Armstrong? We played no check and it was just a fun fun experience. We didn't win a game but it was just a fun fun day and all our friends were there cheering us on. It really was a different game we had no glass it was just all puck movement and finding seams, I'd like to see more outdoor hockey, today's game should be fun to watch.
  18. Pretty bold prediction my friend, are you gonna slash Red River's tires before they leave Purpur?
  19. No, he was none other than a Golden Griffin from Canasius University.
  20. classic still laughing over here.
  21. I saw McBain play Shanley the first time around and just like crosby 87 said there are spots in the game where you forget you're watching the leading scorer in the state, then he'll come done the wall and snipe one shortside. It's his first year of playing varsity hockey I think and if he stays in Hazen he could maybe help bring a WDA title to the Stars. Grafton-Red River tonight big one for Red River and South, closed circuit to X2theZ you going to be there to give a recap??
  22. If street rumors are true I've heard Adam Campbell from Fargo South will play at Concordia next year, and they may be interested in WF's Steven Burdick. I'd love to see Concordia some more locals they have a good foundation over there with those twins from Hibbing I believe . Any word on South-North yet? If South wins today the EDC title will be decided tomorrow. South needs to take care of business against a confident Central team and hope Grafton stays within 3 of the Riders. Does anybody have any info on the WDA race?
  23. And to think we thought Central might not be at the Ralph this year. Tough break for Ross Richards' squad I bet you'll be able to hear a pin drop in their locker room tomorrow when this is announced, same for Fargo North. This guy thinks we'll see the same 4 EDC teams represented in the same seed as last year at state.
  24. I believe the basketball team is doing well, there is that NDSU education paying off again
  25. UND-Minnesota upended by Clarkson-Harvard I call east coast bias, who's with me?
