  1. With South and Red River now both holding 1 goal wins over each other, does anybody know the specifics of the tie break system if both teams finish with one loss?
  2. It's very hard not to bring schedule up. How many points do WF players have against South, RR, Grafton? How many points do Grafton players have against RR and South. We just need to face the fact that GFC is not at the peak this year and so far they have played South, RR, Grafton, EGF (twice), and WF. I mean the games where Central will score more than 3 times are Jamestown, Wahp., Fargo North, and West Fargo. I'm sure we'll see who this team really is next week when they avenge their loss to West Fargo.
  3. - Just because he has a 41 in his name doesn't make him tanner bombenger, I do on the other hand figure he is either a north player or parent of a player, as he knows way to much knowledge of things only team personell or parents of players would know of. -I just thought I'd give both sides of the story as I feel I am the only un-biased person on this thread.
  4. It takes a different breed to come on here and talk about themselves. As I recall Tanner Bombenger wore 41 either his freshman or sophomore year at North, much like the name RCB41. At least confidence isn't your problem, good luck in Jamestown tonight Tanner!
  5. I've been to North games believe it or not, and Fisher and Bombenger are not at the level you say they are. Granted Bombenger may only be a junior he hasn't shown much. Right now I'd take Wahpeton's Chris Wateland ahead of Bombenger.
  6. 4 great players sounds like a strong assessment to me for a team who currently sits 6th in the EDC. Would you mind naming these 4 "superstars"?
  7. Look for South to pick up a hard fought win tomorrow against Crookston who has one of the better goalies in Minnesota A or AA for that matter. Grafton I think will cruise past West Fargo tomorrow night by a 3 goal margin. Then the grand finale Saturday Night The Riders vs. The Bruins in front of a great crowd (I hope) at the John E. Carlson Coliseum. I think these guys will play blood and guts against each other, and I've said it once I've said it 100 times I think Deichert is shaky with those rebounds eventually he has to be bitten by it why not Saturday. Red River in a minor upset 3-2.
  8. I'd have to agree with specifics 100%. There was a stretch of 3 or 4 games where North didn't muster up a goal to help out Welk. North IMO has been disappointing this year. Tyler "Sidney Crosby" Klein was being brought up in a conversation as being one of the best players in the state, yet he still sits under 10 points. You would think that with Klenow and Klein and Welk North would have one games over the West Fargo's and Grand Forks Central type schools or even Devils Lake at home for that matter. Maybe if the Spartans top player spent more time in the defensive zone instead of worrying about popping his jersey like Irmen North would be sitting in a better position. This team also should try to find a weight room, I'm sure there might be one in the school. They refuse to hit or work hard to win the little battles, granted this team is young and has a legitimate shot at a state tournament next year, I think they need to turn it around and win their 2nd meeting with Central and WF to salvage a shot at a state tournament birth this year.
  9. Saw Coach Hakstol at the Moorhead-Thief River Falls game tonight. He picked a good night to attend Forney out of TRF put up 3 points and played a great high school hockey game, and also Jordy Christian scored 2 goals including the game winner in overtime. He did take 14 minutes of penalties however which may be a question mark but he will be a phenomenal player if he ever wears the kelly green.
  10. This score amazes me, I expected Red River to play a much better game. I thought they were the best defensive team in the state and then go out and give up 9 at home even? Bad sign for Coach Malm's team headed into the biggest game of their season.
  11. I'm gonna have to disagree, Deichert fights the puck enough to where I think Red River will slip 2 by him and get the hard fought W.
  12. Maybe we should just flip a coin instead? This one can go either way look for it to be a 2-1, or 1-0 game. The most goals Red River has allowed this year in a game is 3, the most South has surrendered is 4 and that was to mighty Moorhead. Also this game will display two of the best powerplay's I've seen in a long time. Should be a great game to watch.
  13. North Dakota vs. Minnesota Part Deux I'm claiming this as the second big non-tournament meeting between a quality ND team and a quality MN team. So far us NoDakers have a 1-0 advantage thanks to Fargo South. Roseau and Red River get to battle it out tomorrow night any predictions. Plus Thursday big night in the EDC with GPR and WF squaring off in their first meeting of the year. Probably a must win for either team if they want the 3 seed heading into tournament time.
  14. I've been trying to figure this out.... How freakishly bad does a team need to suck for an opposing player to completly stop in front of their goalie wait till the goalie slids out of the way then put the puck into the net while not being touched by a single player. This is not a knock on mihulka, it's a knock on the absolutly brutal competition he must have been playing agianst. I say a new rule should be made that any team that gets the stop-o-razi pulled on them should get their funding completly ripped away.
  15. I was at the game last night. After the way the first 7 minutes went I thought we'd have to start playing in hell because it look as if it was gonna freeze over. In all seriousness Shanley did run all 3 lines consistently last night, in previous games the 3rd line would be lucky to see more than 2 shifts a period. Shanley controlled play for most of the night, it seemed like they came out a little too high on their horse which is expected playing a team of Wahpeton's caliber. I just don't get why when we play Wahpeton close everyone decides to pile on. I didn't hear anybody bashing Jamestown when they eeked out a 6-5 win or WF when they beat Wahpeton the same way. I guess we don't mind the programs who have been around for 25 years but expect Shanley who is still in its infancy to run away with the game. Shanley has a group of kids who work very hard and chose to stick this thing out and there was not a better sight I can remember then the smiles on their faces coming out of the locker room after beating Grand Forks Central. As long as the coaching staff stays there our program will continue to grow as long as SOME people don't try to cut their legs out from under them as soon as they don't WIN by enough. Sorry for this rant.
  16. Thanks for the update on the Central goalie situation, hopefully they get that squared away. Whether or not it should have been a penalty shot or not it does not matter because he was awarded one and he proceeded to score on it. To continue this argument almost a month and a half down the line is insane. Maybe if Marc Harrie was awarded the penalty shot in overtime of the State Championship Game then scored it may be worth discussing for a week, but in a 5 goal loss its out of line. I also read in the Fargo Forum today that USHL coaches liked the way Weisgarber and Galt play. Does anyone know if either of them have been drafted by USHL squads or if they have intentions of playing junior hockey next year? Finally if your bored tonight and the Minnesota High School Hockey action on FSN isn't good enough for you, the BW Blades are going to Moorhead to battle the Fargo Shanley Deacons in a rematch of last years play in game.
  17. Already on another topic, for being a doctor your not the quickest one are you!
  18. I've been meaning to ask this, reading the box score of the Grand Forks Central-Grafton game I saw that Kelvin Shane did not get the start for the Knights. Was Bina just giving him a night off or is he academically ineligible or out for disciplinary issues. By the way Riders06 are you gonna be able to recap your win on Saturday night for us, or do we actually have to make the trip?
  19. Who says the west doesn't produce good hockey players? Just think this could still could be playing for the Magi this year. Maybe if he would've hung around Mr. Bair would be losing some records, and we'd be talking about a different number one seed.
  20. You bring up a good point, never really looked at it that way. They must have been caught in a bad change or maybe he blocked a shot and got free. Although we know the Packers aren't the fleetest of the foot
  21. I'd like to see you stop Marc Harrie barrelling down on you 1 on 1 . Just to kill some time I was browsing through schedules and found some good matchups down the stretch run. Minot at Bismarck Jan. 13 Fargo North at Grafton Jan. 14 West Fargo at Red River Jan. 14 Roseau at Red River Jan. 17 Grafton at West Fargo Jan. 19 Red River at Fargo South Jan. 21 Devils Lake at Williston Jan. 21 Fargo North at Red River Jan. 24 Grand Forks Central at West Fargo Jan. 24 Minot at Williston Jan. 24 Red River at Central Jan. 26 Grafton at Fargo South Jan. 26 Fargo North at West Fargo Jan. 27 Grand Forks Central at Fargo North Feb. 2 West Fargo at Grafton Feb. 2 Bismarck at Devils Lake Feb. 3 Minot at Grand Forks Red River Feb. 3 Minot at Grafton-Park River Feb. 4 Grafton at Central Feb. 9 Red River at Grafton Feb. 11 Williston at Bismarck Feb. 11 Devils Lake at Minot Feb. 11
  22. My Top 5: 1) Fargo South-complete domination 2) Red River-very solid defensively, great powerplay 3) Minot-getting to be the team we expected 4) Grafton- Park River- great top line, just a notch below Red River 5) Bismarck High-goaltending, defense My Mr. Hockey Finalists: 1) Paul Weisgarber-what's not to like about his play 2) Paul Campbell- amazing player, does need to use his size a bit more 3) Eli Rosendahl- Great job between the pipes, overlooked by many people
  23. Let's try to keep it PG on here. We don't need people like you bringing down the integrity of this message board. You seriously need to look in the mirror and decide that it's time to grow up.
  24. Quality of your opponent does not need to be a factor. I do recall Jamestown being a challenging place to go to. Back in West Fargo's early days it was hard for us to go in there with all 35 drunk seniors yelling obscenities at us. I'm sure Wahpeton with the penalty minutes they had out there may be tough to play in as well.
