Here's my impression of this thread: serious talk, serious talk, serious talk, kinda smacky talk, serious talk, serious talk, NDSU and UND fans agreeing, serious talk, BAM! siourock strikes!
-
Of course I stood up. At 6' 1" I didn't understand why the sight line became so poor. I read an article about the Alerus, maybe it was the Aurora at the time, and it stated that the "quonset" design was implemented to facilitate possible expansion to the ends. I think it would require al little more than just adding seats, because of rerouting the concourses, but it could be done.
-
Sicatoka, I was making a reference to the fact that a coordinator has approximately one-half the responsibility of a head coach, but a position coach(especially tight end and linebacker ala Babich) only has about one tenth the responsibility of a head coach.
-
Sicatoka, If the Alerus is expanded, which would involve adding endzone seating, would they account for nobody wanting to sit outside of the 20's anymore? Is there any possible way to elevate the seating more? Note: I had seats for the Pitt St. and Cal-Davis playoff games, right on the 20 yard line, row K. When people were standing(most of those games), I had a blind spot that began on the sideline at the 50 yard line and continued to the far end field goal post. This cut off a decent portion of the field, and the monitors didn't help much at that distance.

Sicatoka, I agree. I have a problem with a hairstyle comment being deemed racist. Nearly anybody could come up with a "more racist" comment than, "Nice Afro!" I grew up in Ohio, with a school comprised of over half African-American students. The African-American kids would joke around with each other and the Caucausian kids with what could be considered racist remarks a lot worse than "Nice Afro!"

UND 92,96 Maybe I read it a little too fast. I saw names of some alleged perps, and Eddie said there was no mention of names in the media. Riverman, Mullet and Afro are both racially stereotypical hairstyles, as witnessed here- EVIDENCE MULLET IS RACIALLY OFFENSIVE Alas, I cannot find anything about the damage caused during the first Bison/Sioux FB game in the Fargodome. All I have to go by is the memory of The Forum article, and the word of the head of event staff. He said the worst two things to happen at the Fargodome were the flooding and the first meeting of the Bison/Sioux. So, take that for what it's worth(little to nothing). Couple of observations/questions- Living in North Dakota, and having been exposed to few African Americans, do the people of North Dakota truly know what is racist? Can anybody truly make that call without having much exposure to other races? Most of the area west of Minneapolis appears to be 90-95% Caucausian. A word only has power if one allows it to. Case in point, the "N" word. In the matter of years, it went from being a derogatory racist term, to being a friendly word frequently used by those it once was meant to demean. Oh yeah, we were talking about NDSU. I think Gene Taylor is taking effective steps to dealing with the problem. I saw where the visting team will no longer be using the same entrance to the court as NDSU does.

Sicatoka, Bohl was a coordinator, whereas Babich had only been a position coach his entire career.

I guess even smilies have different opinions at times
-
DamStrait, The little smilie thing at the end was to siginify the comment was tongue-in-cheek. TeamSioux, What does the NCC have to say about student seating?(official stance) The BSA seating chart shows the student section right behind both benches-BSA Seating Chart

I think you stated that fairly well. al

Maybe you should have read the article you linked to: Taylor said Baugh and UND assistant Travis Brewster identified the person who allegedly made the remark. Taylor said he spoke with the person, a former NDSU student, between the women
-
Ummm, isn't fan behavior in Grand Forks suspect, as well? I seem to remember the UND fans damaging the Fargodome in excess of $100,000. I seem to remember the UND students throwing batteries at student-athletes. I remember Brewster shoving a fan at the game yesterday. Maybe criminal actvity is not seen as "inappropriate behavior" in Grand Forks?
-
I think name recognition and familiarity had something to do with that. I, for one, wanted Bradley to be the coach until I researched the other candidates. I was still pulling for Gus, but I knew that NDSU might be better off with one of the other guys. Parallel for the fans you described-You are much more likely to let someone into your home that you have met and have memories of, than a stranger off the street. Most Bison fans know who Casey Bradley and Rocky Hager are.
-
I guess that's what is said after being IP banned. No need to worry about Lennon, the three finalists are Bohl, Bradley, and Allen.
-
We received this version: i no i have been caring about the bison moving up but i should say that all the sioux fans shouldnt care what the bison do even if they move up and get smoked every time and lsoe all there money y should we care? so i am not gonna care that much unles the sioux come up in the convo Siouxrock must be hypoglycemic when he first gets out of school. edit-hyperglycemia is also a possibility

It's merely a pipedream at the moment.

Mory00, I'll give you a little insight as to why recruits chose NDSU. IAA football receives more national exposure than D2, and NDSU has placed a few players in the NFL recently. Personally, I'd rather have a better chance at the NFL than a national championship if I was playing. As witnessed by the MAI(Myron Allen Incident), many college athletes are more concerned about playing at the next level. I believe the Lennon comment referred to UND moving to IAA before Lennon moves on.
-
I believe there was a typo in tony's post. Did you mean-"....they get exposed with pros"?
-
Thanks

Anybody hear anything about the UND students that were in Fargo today? I heard the tail end of the story on the radio, but just heard that the UND students would be going before the State Board of Education.
-
Maybe some people should read disclaimers: This poll is not scientific and reflects the opinions of only those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The results cannot be assumed to represent the opinions of Internet users in general, nor the public as a whole. Kinda like Yao Ming starting in the All-Star game. Ballot stuffing
-
All Bison recruits were informed of Babich's situation. They knew that he might be leaving for the NFL.
-
Maybe we can use this as leverage to have more than one seat in the House.
-
UND 92,96 I would have to lean towards deficient coaching. The 2000 Bison team should have won a national championship, even with the third string QB playing. There was nobody even close in the level of talent that year. Somewhat related news- I was talking to a UND alumnus today about Babich, and he said there is talk that Lennon wants to leave UND, unless the practice facilities receive a HUGE upgrade. Maybe the Sac State interview was used as a wakeup call.
