PCM, I agree with you. I was trying to make a point to Siouxrock, but it looks like he agrees now.

prolly 1 t0 4 pl4y3rz fr0m teh wh0l3 st4te 0f ND 4 y34r. (probably one to four players from the whole state of North Dakota a year.)- For those with a high school diploma elmduf, I was trying to say that most of the local "hotbed" states for football are probably in the bottom half of all states. With these states producing more DI talent than ND, it's pretty safe to say that ND is near the bottom. It has a lot to do with population, and we know where ND is with that.
-
Where is ND as far as producing DI hockey talent? Just guessing, but I would have to say it's way higher than DIA or DIAA football talent. Top 5 football states: California, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Then there's a lot of other states such as Georgia, Mississippi, etc. and we aren't even close to mentioning the local football hotbeds, such as Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Colorado that are much better than North Dakota. North Dakota probably ranks about the same in DI football talent as teacher salary: 49th or 50th. In a very good year, North Dakota might be able to produce five guys that could start in DI(A or AA) football.

Other examples-NDSU has an artificial playing surface installed at Dacotah Field, UND has an artificial playing surface installed a couple years later at Memorial Stadium. NDSU changes their mascot, UND changes their mascot to be more intimidating to NDSU. NDSU wins eight national championships, then UND wins one.

Decent analysis. The only position I'd say you were off on is tailback. Five vs. two is a "little more depth"? I'd also venture to say one of the top running backs in Illinois might be more than "pretty close" in quality to a top running back in ND. Here's some info on NDSU's Illinois recruits-Top Illinois Prep Site Impressed With Bison Recruits

UND will be playing UMC on Sept. 6th-2003 UMC scheduleYou guys can fill in the remaining blanks .
-
The UNC game looks a little suspicious. Any word on non-conf. games? I think I remember Crookston and Central Washington being on the non-conf. schedule for UND again this year.

Yeah, but Eddie needs to buy more shells for his canine obedience tool, errrr... I mean shotgun.
-
I heard Shoutin' Eddie just signed a deal with CBS. He's hosting "Survivior: Too Bush-League For The Outback".

Sicatoka, You have to CHANGE the channel, not complain about the channel.

Funny money can only buy jack squat.

When does "Counterfeiting: The Easy Road To Wealth" air?
-
UNC is still making a trip to MN and SD this year, so it's even more confusing. UC-Davis will be DIAA in 2003, but their schedule resembled a DIAA schedule when they were D2.
-
I think the "exploratory" year takes into account a current conference affiliation. Maybe the NCAA likes to see a team play the majority of it's non-conference schedule at the IAA level. NDSU only has two IAA schools on the "exploratory" year schedule.

I'm guessing this prime time show could only be followed by Fox's When Criminal Justice Clubs Attack!!

Average at least 8,400 for attendance while having 8-4, 5-7, 6-4,and 6-5 records? To be fair, what have the D2 powerhouses, such as Ouachita Baptist, Morehouse, or Bowie State done for D2 football? btw-Lehigh has exactly the same number of D2 football championships that UND has.
-
Sicatoka, It says that NDSU and UND were in the top 5 for D2 attendance last year. If one looks at the top 20 teams in both divisions, DIAA attendance is nearly double that of D2. Also, the 50th ranked school in DIAA(Sac. St.) would have been the 7th ranked team in average attendance in D2. Looks like a lot more people go to DIAA games. Average of the top 20 D2 Football average attendances-7395 for DIAA-15922. Looks like DIAA attendance is over double that of D2.

I think the siouxrock phenomenon may be a "multiple personality internet disorder". This sort of activity was running rampant on the D2football.com message boards, with a user by the name of BCON. It turned out that the "original" BCON was a Grand Valley State student whose brother was on the football team. In an attempt to always be able to respond to posts and spread the GVSU propaganda on the D2football and other message boards, BCON gave his username and password to a friend, who gave it to another friend, etc. until there were about 10 BCON(s). This led to a few slip-ups that finally gave it away. (t)He(y) would post something intelligent, and within an hour post something very immature. There were also different writing styles within each post. Anyhow, I think siouxrock(s) might be doing the same thing. jim and sicatoka, ur l33t5p34l< i5 teh r0xx0rz. /pwn3d!!!!

auntie govens, That does not make sense. One typically has to make it through puberty before they can attend college (and know how to spell).

Does anybody have any suggestions as to a course of action to resolve this? There have been a lot of "shame on you's" thrown around, but I haven't heard any suggestions to prevent something like this from happening again. What about punishment for the accused individuals? Gene Taylor said the visiting team will no longer use the same entrance as NDSU. This should help out. How about putting a couple extra security guards in the entrance when the visiting team is entering/exiting? The seating issue is somewhat difficult because of the bleachers, but how about not allowing students in the first five rows? Any other takers for coming up with solutions, instead of reiterating the same accusations?

Next lesson: Punctuation marks.

star2city, In one word, NO! It's obviously the case of two opinions. Neither one 100% correct, neither one right or wrong. Two differing shades of gray. A few counterpoints on Gene Roebuck's interview, for the sake of discussion (I.E. These may or may not be my opinions): constantly being harrassed- Doubtful. Persistently, maybe. The students were cheering for NDSU sometimes. students getting into their faces- Shouldn't the coaches' faces be looking towards the game? I didn't see any students run onto the court and get into their faces. The students may have been yelling at the back of their heads, but were not in their faces. The smell of alcohol was prevalent among the student perpetrators.-That sure is suprising. Most obnoxious fans at sporting events usually are. The women were referred to as b***ches and wh*res- I also hear a lot of that in rap music and on TV. I also have heard it used a lot by younger guys after a few drinks at the local pubs. This one should maybe be blamed upon the movie and music industries. Gene reportedly asked for additional help in controlling the crowd.- Did he or didn't he? Who did he ask? What did they say? Were they in a position to do anything or just some peon, unable to help? One of the scorers on the table was smiling, apparently just loving the harassment the Sioux women were getting.- That's some great speculation. Maybe she was thinking of her kids, husband, new car, flowers, cookies, puppies, or one of a million other things that could make someone smile. Hell, maybe she was happy for the comeback the Bison were starting.

The "seat carnage" incident at the Fargodome did make the media in Fargo. I remember an article in The Forum, and I think there was something on the news, as well. This incident goes back a decade, and I can barely remember what I had for breakfast this morning, so the details might be somewhat "fuzzy". I believe it happened in Section 28 or 29 in the north endzone, where most of the UND students were during the game. At that time the NDSU student section was in the south endzone, so the UND students were believed to be the culprits.

Wow, I would think a 2 point loss to the #2 team, and a OT loss to the #4 team would allow the NDSU to be in the top ten. Maybe the NCAA doesn't want a second NCC tourney
