  1. Here are the numbers for teams that get in, it looks like hockey is more "watered down" than basketball. NCAA Hockey - 16/65 = 24.6% of teams get in NCAA Basketball - 65/335 = 19.4% of teams get in
  2. I just wanted to see everyone's opinion on Michael Forney? I think he is a good player but is still playing hurt. Just wanted to know what others had to say.
  3. The only question that arises from this topic is who has a chance to beat Red River? I see them going undefeated and having 2 finalists for Mr. Hockey. I don't think anyone in North Dakota will play a close game with them.
  4. How can you not give coach of the year to Matt Malm with the season the Riders had?
  5. Yep, we hear the same thing every year and the past 15 seasons it hasn't happened.
  6. The player that is not playing in the State Tournament is Adam Crary, who had to have surgury on his leg because of a torn muscle. He tore the muscle when the ref stepped on him toward the end of the second period.
  7. All Galbreath did was bruise his shoulder and Red River didn't want to risk anything. He will be playing this weekend. Another rumor that I heard was that Danny Wurden is heading to Omaha Sunday morning to finish out the season with the Lancers.
  8. He played on the JV team because of the transfer rule. He probably would of been a first liner had he been able to play.
  9. The way that Grafton played against West Fargo and Fargo North, I do not see Minot beating them. I think it might even be running time.
  10. I could not agree more with everything redwing just said.
  11. I am a big Brian Lee fan and it's just funny to me how 90% of the Sioux fans at the game think he is the worst player on the ice. On Mankato's second goal, all he was trying to do was stop the puck so he could turn and fire it down the rink. All 6 of the other Sioux defenseman would have done the same thing but it just happened to be him and hit his stick and go into the net. This is when everyone starts yelling about how bad he is and he shouldn't see the ice anymore. But then he gets into a scrap and everyone is behind him, yelling how great he is. No one got mad at Finley last season in the national semifinals when the puck hit his stick and went over Parise's sholder to put BC up 3-0. Everyone was there supporting him. Lee is human and he makes mistakes. I was so happy when he scored last night so it would shut up all of the Brian Lee haters out there and show that he is a very good player and will be playing in the NHL someday. Brian Lee is the most hated player by UND fans to ever put on a Sioux jersey.
  12. Scores: Red River 5, East Grand Forks 4 Grand Forks Central 6, Wapheton 3 Fargo South 6, Devils Lake 2
  13. Andrew Vigen took a penalty and then Eric Meland said something to the ref.
  14. No they just recieved a two minute minor for roughing.
  15. The Red River Central game was very chippy. There was a lot of stuff happening after the whistle. Andy Tweeten(sp) for Central was thrown out with 40 seconds left for fighting. Red River was the normal Red River hockey team, dominated the game like they have this season. The top line of Eric Meland, Russel Crary, and Jordan Banecroft(sp) played very well tonight chipping in 4 goals (Meland with a hat trick). Also scoring for Red River was Ryan Ladoucer and Nick Walters. Centrals goal was scored by Brandon Moody. Central took too many stupid penalties, which eventually cost them as Red River's powerplay was very good.
  16. A couple big EDC games tonight. Red River plays host to Central at Purpur Arean and Fargo South is at Grafton tonight. The Fargo South Grafton game could be very interesting in that both teams are not playing great hockey right now. My predictions for tonight: Red River 6, Central 1 and Grafton 4, Fargo South 3.
  17. Scores:West Fargo 4 Central 2 Red River 5 Fargo North 0
  18. Don't forget that the same night that Red River beat South 8-0, Grafton was up 4-3 over Wapheton going in the third period and ended up winning 6-3. And please don't tell me that they didn't play their better players because Tanner Hills scored the sixth goal. Right now Red River owns spots 1-4 in the standing in the East Region. No one else comes close.
  19. Rumor has it that this years EDC tournament is going to be played for the State Championship and they are going to help the West teams out by keeping them at home so they are able to save money on gas.
  20. I am not supporting Dillon Kraft and his celebration after scoring his first goal of the year nor am I supporting fighting in high school hockey. But put yourself into a Williston players shoes for a minute. If this happened to you on your own rink, would you allow someone to do this, let alone a Minot kid? I know that it is smart not to go after him after his stupid celebration, but show some pride in your team and your school. That is what they call "showing someone up." Are you going to let this idiot who scores his first goal of the year carry on like this? If I was a player on the Williston team, I would have went after him while he was carrying on. And if I did not get to him after his goal, I would let him know that he better keep his head up because I was coming. You have to send a message to him that he cannot come into your place and push you around like that. If I was the coach of Williston when this incident occured, I would tell someone to go after him. All your doing is sending a message to your players and the other team that you can't do that and expect to get away with it. Let's use Rylan Kaip for an example. He did what he needed to do last weekend against Alaska-Anchorage and threw down the gloves. They needed to establish to the rest of the league that Ralph Engelstad Arena is the home of the Sioux and they are not to be pushed around in their home rink. I laughed when I heard about this situation for the first time because the first three words I heard were "A Minot Player." This is just typical for a Minot player to do something like this.
  21. That is the final score. The Riders stay undefeated.
  22. Yes, Jason's number 19 is the first number retired by either Grand Forks schools.
  23. Name some other times when Lee was walked around and cost his team the game?
