  1. What an amazing story. I give Sean all the props in the world for having the courage for writing all of this down and sharing it with everybody. It brings tears to your eyes.
  2. I also heard the Justin Connell from Bismarck High will be playing with the Bismarck Bobcats.
  3. Rosendahl will be attending Colorado State University next year. He just does not have the desire to play hockey any more. Spies will be playing baseball next year but is still undecided on where he will be playing. I he was to try out for Team North Dakota, that would run into the high school baseball season. Mihulka will be trying out for the Team and he will also be attending the Elite camp for the best Midwest players. Matt Marchel is still undecided if he will try out for Team North Dakota, along with Brad Benke.
  4. Congratulations to Fargo South on bringing home their third State Championship last night. A well played game that could have easily gone the other way. Also a special congradulations to Paul Weisgarber on winning Mr. Hockey. Hopefully he will have a good rest of the season with the FM Jets. A special congratulations to Sean Deichart on winning the State Title in just a few weeks after the death of his father. I give all the props to Fargo South, even though I feel they did not play their best game. Neither team played their best game, but credit Fargo South for having just enough to come out on top. Hopefully next year will be just as exciting as this year was.
  5. I love how cory1 can make an excuse for every time South loses. O what that only happened twice this season and both losses were to Red River. You can make an excuse for everything you want but what goes down in the books? Does South go down as the "team that should of won the EDC title and EDC tournament" or does Red River go in their as the "team that won the EDC title and EDC tournament?" If South is supposed to be the "best" team in the state, aren't they supposed to be ready to play every game and not just choose to take nights off. South showed earlier this season they couldn't handle the pressure of winning the EDC title when they blew their 3 goal lead to the Riders in Fargo, they choked in the EDC tournament, so does this mean they will choke again in the State title game? If they happen to lose at the State Tournament, I'm sure you will come on here and say that South just didn't play their best.
  6. Why don't the Sioux try and take a shot at landing Marc Mihulka from Grand Forks Red River. A very skilled player, Marc uses his strength and speed to dominated other teams by himself. (3 hat tricks in 3 EDC games last weekend). He is also a player that would not leave college early to go on to play at a higher level. He would stay with the Sioux for 4 years and would be a great third line player who throws his body around. I think it would be smart and nice for a Grand Forks kid to have his name on the back of the green and white. (His dad did play for the Sioux during the late 1970's).
  7. How can you say that he hasn't been there for them all season? You haven't payed very close attention to the Riders this year then. After the EDC tournament, Mihulka should be in the top 5 in scoring in the state. But he does everything himself, doesn't he? If you happen to look at the list of all EDC players, you will see Mihulka's name on there, along with 3 other teammates. Red River had the same number of players on the all EDC list as the Bruins had. Even if South brought there B- game to the rink last night, doesn't a state championship contender come to the rink ready to play every night? I just don't see how you can bash a team that has beaten the best team in the state, South, twice this season, won the EDC title and the EDC tournament. A hockey game cannot be won by one player, it is a collection of players that come together and preform to the best of their abilities. I hope that Red River beats the $hit out of Fargo South in the state championship game next weekend to shut all you people up that ever doubted them.
  8. Squeak by the 6 seed? You obviously not at the game because you would have seen that Central dominated every aspect of the game. Jamestown did not play like a number 8 seed in the tournament. They played like they were a 5 or 6 seed.
  9. Marc Mihulka is refered as "Ten Bears" because it has been proven many times that he has the stength of ten bears. What an amazing player to watch. He makes the game so much more exciting to watch when he is on the ice. Hopefully his huge EDC performance of 3 hat tricks in 3 games will draw some votes for Mr. Hockey from some of the coaches around the state this week.
  10. I sure hope your not talking about the state tournament because last time i checked, the Riders knocked out North in the state play-in game last year.
  11. Roseau played a very good game and the Riders did not show up to play tonight.
  12. The Riders were on the penalty kill at the time of the Stop-o-Razi. Mihulka went to his knees to block the shot, got up and knocked the defensemen off the puck, went in on the breakaway, and the rest is history.
  13. I agree with your 3 finalists for Mr. Hockey from what I have seen this far this season. The two Pauls are both excellent players, mainly offensively but Weisgarber plays very well in his own end. I like your third Mr. Hockey finalist. You hit it right on the nose when you said he is overlooked by many people. With the best stats in the state, GAA and Save %, he could sneak up into the top two. He has given up 10 goals in 9 games and 5 goals in his last 7 games. Granted he has good defense in front of him that allow him to see the puck and block a lot of shots, but he controls his rebounds very well, not giving second chances. It will be fun to see what 3 players are chosen as Mr. Hockey finalists as the season wears down.
  14. Grafton beat Shanley 7-1. Grafton completely dominated all aspects of the game.
  15. They'll be luck to keep it within 26 when they play the Riders.
  16. There is no way in hell that Grafton will win the state tournament. They do not have the depth of Fargo South or Red River to carry them through the EDC and State tournaments. The Campbell's will not be able to carry the scoring for much longer because teams will catch on that all you have to do is shadow that line and Grafton will not score. Kringstad is a good goalie but I don't think he has the ability to carry his team to a state championship crown. Grafton will be lucky to get to the State Championship game.
  17. You have no clue what you are talking about. You should leave siouxsports before you embarrass yourself more. The color of the jersey has nothing to do with the nickname and the play of the hockey team.
  18. After the whistle, Mihulka was laying on the ice while he was getting beaten on by the South players. Erik Meland then came over to support his teammate by moving the South players away. Your excuse for South's sluggish play is the worst excuse I have ever heard. The days off were probably needed to get some rest. Mihulka as does not get away with everything. If you watch the game closely, the stuff Mihulka dishes out, he takes it right back. When he hits kids, he destroys them but they are clean checks.
  19. The South-Red River game was a hard fought battle between two very good teams. South took it to the Riders in the first period with a powerplay goal that goalie Eli Rosendahl never saw. The second period was a better period for the Riders but South scored on a two on one to take a 2-0 lead after two periods. The third period was dominated by the Riders as they took it to South. Red River pulled within one on a delayed penalty. The final shots for the game were 26-25 in favor of South. The Riders physically beat down South as the game went on but just couldn't catch the break they needed. The bounces just went in favor of South tonight as the Riders hit two pipes (One hitting the crossbar with 7 minutes left). Both goalies played fairly well but neither was at the top of their game. The game could of gone to either team but South got the one extra bounce they needed to pull of a victory. It will be interesting to see the two teams meet up again in Fargo for the second game of their series.
  20. As you didn't previously state, Red River had 55 shots on goal. They also surrendered only 28 shots and on one of Shanley's goal, the net was clearly off before the puck crossed the line. Red River also had 8 different people score in an 8-3 victory, three of them being sophomores who scored their first high school goals. They physically beat up Shanley's two lines. Though the Riders may have taken some stupid penalties, they gave up one goal while being shorthanded. They were 50% on the power play, going 4 for 8. You also have to remember that this was the first game of the season for each team. Look at what Central did out in Minot. From what I hear, Central took it to Minot for the final two periods and Minot is projected to be at the top in the West Region. Don't speak two soon, because the words might come back to bite you.
  21. i downloaded from the directions and opened the program but the logos and jerseys are still NHL teams. i have the rosters from the college teams but they have NHL logos. how can i fix this.
  22. i went to hockey camps with jordan a while back and talked to him this summer. he stated that tri-city had sent him stuff in the mail regarding housing and something to do with a driver's license. he also said he was going down to tri-city during the month of july and this pretty much told me that he will not be returning for his senior year and Minot High.
  23. And nothing has been said about the defending state champions? They will surprise some people with their great goaltending and some solid forwards back for the 2005-06 campaign. They also have to defend the State Championship banner now hanging in Purpur Arena.
