No doubt from the pregame Lucia is after his players to stick up for teammates; their way of doing it, cfb's and other various after whistle attacks from behind or when an opponent is down and available to be jumped on. Lucia taunting the Mav bench when they kill the lengthy 5x3. This is one ugly team right now.
Was he taunting them after the 5 on 3? I know he was sarcastically applauding them for some of the CFB penalties they got. I thought maybe he got sick of Juttings whining.

two major cfb?? if they both were called... i guess tdon needs to take some control of his guys. are we having another goof meltdown?? whats the score? my daughter is watching monsters inc. and i am listening to sioux online.
2 of them within a matter of 2 minutes. Score is 2-0 Mavs. 10 to go in 2nd. Lucia lipjacking with the Maverick bench even.

I seriously had to check my DVD to make sure I wasn't watching Slapshot here a few minutes ago. I don't know what the hell has gotten into this team.

Saccetti gone.....CFB. WOW, I think there needs to be even stiffer penalties for these CFB calls. Getting booted the rest of the game is one thing, maybe they need to be out for the following game as well.
Stoa gone now too....CFB. WOW, what the hell is going on with these guys.

FHG26 I think most of us will agree that the refs sucks and they are the cause of a lot of the games getting out of control.
Also, I couldn't believe all of the obstruction that goes on now, it is getting worse by the game. I think the WCHA coaches may have to take issue with the officials in this league. Fans need to email the WCHA and the NCAA as well.
Yeah, it's bad. You know they started the year doing what they said they were going to do and called everything. But eventually it just went to the way it's always been. As it's been said, it is going to take someone getting SERIOUSLY injured (another Bina incident for example) for them to change.....and thats a shame. You know I'm sure there have been plenty of people that have e-mailed, called the WCHA and NCAA, they must be aware of it but they just choose to sweep it under the rug and ignore the problem. Papa Shep is always at a game over the weekends as well and must see this......he was probably in Mankato last night with Baby Shep there.

God Anderson is BAD! He missed an obvious bowtie crosscheck by Hoeffel right at the beginning of the game that happened right in front of him.

Don Lucia just endorsed that SCH(hack) did last night, he called it sticking up for a team mate.
Also, so don't expect a suspension or an appology. Also, Lucia said he is going to start recruiting these types of
players.
Was a pretty bold comment on Lucia's part! Kind of ripped on the league saying that if they are not going to start enforcing the rules then he would start recruiting physical type players.

I just don't get it. People complain about the deals put up on the screen with the quotes next to Kangas and whine about it! I don't think the players even notice them, it's more for the fans which in turn gets them pumped up. Even the ones last year with the girl in the Gopher jersey in the penalty box....that was genius, but people complained about that as well. Like I put on Romans blog, this whole world is becoming pussyfied!!!!!

Hatred seems a little over the top.
It's college freakin' hockey, kid. There are a lot better recipients for your hatred than another hockey team.
I'm sure he didn't mean hatred as in he wants to blow up the whole school, it's a rivalry.
You could ask plenty of UND players and I'm sure they would say they hate Minnesota. -

Your point about the Gophers not traveling is still on point, just a bit exaggerated.

They went to the UNO tourney in fall of '02 as well. You were down there, weren't you Saagard? The night of the famous "bachelorette party"?

At the Sioux Boosters in Fargo yesterday, Dane Jackson mentioned that the Sioux coaches took exception to John Hill questioning Evan Trupp's toughness. I know we need to move on to Tech, but it pisses me off that Tony Lucia cheapshots Trupp and skates away from what he deserved...an ass kicking. Hopefully the Sioux will play the Gophers again before Lucia graduates.
Lucia is only a junior, there will be 2 series next season with the Gophers and Sioux. I'm pretty sure the Gophers-Sioux series next season at Grand Forks is in October.

Obviously, he lied when he said he watched the games this weekend.
Barrairo (sp?) earlier in the show was talking about the series too and how bad it was for the Gophers. His sidekick said it wasn't fair because the Sioux are full of 23 year old Canadians.
Barrairo argued with all the Minnesota talent it should have equaled out. That was pretty funny. Not trying to start an argument here, just what I heard on the radio. I didn't even think Barrairo talked hockey most of the time! -

Rumor has it he was at practice today, can't imagine it was a real good day for him talking to the team.

Interesting. I thought it'd be worse. They seemed like us. Homers but willing to talk hockey.
I notice that they admit that Lucia DID spear Trupp. That makes them NOT idiots while Coach Hill IS.
There's one guy on the board that seems to think that ND must always start everything. Well we do sometimes, but not really this weekend.
Finally someone was wondering if Jones got the fighting major for his antics. I guess he needs to learn some internet skills. He didn't. However I fail to see that the Gophers have any beef with that since their boy Schack was throwing punches on Fratin and didn't get a fighting major either.
My two cents is they were both lucky not to be sitting Friday. Who am I to complain about that?
I think more would have been said had we split or anything else, but after the royal ass-whopping we got there is not a whole lot to squak about over there.

One thing that really stood out all weekend was how many blocked shots we had. They haven't put themselves in front of pucks all season like they did this weekend. I really hope they continue to put that effort into their defense. It will really pay dividends down the stretch.
In the Frozen Four last year, how many of Genoway's blocked shots from the point resulted in odd-man rushes for BC, leading towards more comments against Finley's play. Finley got blamed for Genoway's forced shots. I wish people would watch the whole play. Even the first month and a half of the season Genoway continued to do that. He's since looked for better oppurtunities, resulting in better scoring chances for both him and other teammates.
It's little things like that that really add up. Throw in some hustle and you got yourself a good ol' fashioned Gopher ass-whoopin!
That was one of the big things I noticed Saturday especially...... my head was hung low and shaking angrily most of the game Friday to notice.
I mentioned to my buddy that the Gophers had no good quality shots getting to the net much on Saturday night. -
Congrats on a big time sweep this weekend. Hard to believe the Gophers could not show up for a series like this. The Sioux absolutely DOMINATED every aspect of the games this weekend.
Well at least the bars were still a great time!

HMMMMM, I have no idea who that is supposed to be. Didn't get to hear much of the show today but I'm wondering if Nate Miller is going to be there or something? Other then that I'm not sure who it would be. Next to PA and JG Miller would be a great hockey mind.

No. Don't see much point of it really, with no Dubay there the talk will pretty much be all Vikings and Timberwolves.....and I could do without both.
I don't need to hear PA say how great the Vikes are and the producer JG kissing PA's arse for 3 hours.

I didn't think Lucia was unprofessional in how he said it, so I don't think the league should come down too hard on him, he was just stating the obvious. I don't condone the way Schack did what he did but it was nice to see him stick up for a teammate. As far as Jutting goes, good for Lucia. People may think Lucia complains alot but I don't think anyone complains and whines about EVERY LITTLE thing like Jutting does.
As far as these CFB calls are going, maybe they need to start giving an extra game suspension for some of these calls. Saccetti's last night was legit but Stoa's was pretty ridiculous.
