  1. Wasn't there a rumor about mohawks this year?

Must be something to say about that.

Supposedly they were going to go with mohawks but tDon put the axe to that idea. Then they were rumored to have shaved their heads, but in Kato last weekend it looked as they all still had full heads of hair. So I don't think they are doing anything this year.

  2. hey why not ;) at least it was bucky, i bet you dont have a problem with that :D

Absolutly not.....hence the wink at the end of the post. ;)

I for one like Bickel, he is a hard-nosed player as was said before. He sticks up for his teammates, I love the fact that Lucia has had to grab him by the collar a few times to calm him down. Does he do stupid things every once in a while? HECK YEAH, I'll totally admit it. Give him another year and by his junior he could be a damn good defenseman, he does seem to have a hard time getting the puck out of the zone at times and is not the best skater yet.

  3. I'll give your recruiters credit for one thing. There is no one in college hockey who does a better job of finding the biggest pussies that are available.

Yeah, I guess the Gophers should man-up and start going after team mascots to toughen themselves up a bit. ;);)

  4. i thought it was weird that he reffed all three games when i was under the understanding that if it went to three they switched the refs

If one of the coaches request a ref change then they switch for the 3rd game, so BOTH coaches must not have thought Shep was doing that bad of a job......even Jutting.

I'll stand by and see how you all turn this into a conspiracy now. ;)

  5. That was last night - there was a too many men against MSM Friday in OT that was weak. Last night's call was a no-brainer.

Geez, when half the arena notices it and starts yelling Friday night it's pretty obvious I think. :( And last nights was a no brainer, I will totally admit that.

  6. I have been to the Final 5 before but never have stayed in St. Paul. Where are some good places to hit during the non-hockey times? Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

McGoverns, Tom Reids are some pretty good sports bars down there. You can find some pretty fun places all along 7th really. Alary's is a few blocks away from the X but they usually have a shuttle that goes to and from the games, big cop bar with bartenders and waitresses dressed...quite nicely. :(

I know we are going to be tailgating again this year behind Forepaugh's (sp?) restaurant. There are usually quite a few Sioux fans that drop by, thats another option.

  7. Sounds like the Kato state ticket office majorly screwed up. They kept saying the game was sold out, then more tickets went on sale, then we were sold out again. I know there was one completely empy section at the Alltell last night though, and tons of other empty seats.

  8. I only have one thing to say about the Goofs-Mankato game last night. If I was a memeber of the Sheppard family I would be embarrassed as hell. I would be even more embarrassed if I was the head of the officials for the WCHA. That game was a joke and it was once again very obvious taht the Shappards will do anything to keep the goofs in a game.

All 3 (or however many there are) were there last night. Old man Shep was sitting next to us in the stands and Derrick and Brad were doing the game. I kept looking over and seeing Old Man Shep taking notes, probably something along the lines of "my kids suck"...or something like that. :D

Fun game to be at last night, Gophers had plenty of decent chances but either a) were too stupid to just take the shot or b) Zacharias SHUT THEM DOWN. Kid played his guts out last night, as well as Kangas. But Zach had a team in front of him helping out.

  9. I honestly haven't paid much attention to the Gophers lately. In all seriousness, is he?

Yeah, he's still around. I honestly have no idea what to expect in the off-season from him though. Obviously tDon and I would think the team as well have pretty much lost all confidence in him.

  10. Wow. Treacherous drive south of Duluth on I-35. Freezing rain. We saw a pickup truck roll over and back right side up. Folks seemed alright. Big multi-car pileup near Moose Lake. Ditched vehicles everywhere. A real white knuckler for awhile. Hope Hwy 2 West was in better shape, and that all are home safely.

Hear ya there, we took 35 home after the game as well and was a pretty dicey drive. Had a truck and trailer lose control right in front of us and was swirving all over, somehow he pulled out of it. Couple accidents looked pretty serious, Ford Focus I believe that had the whole drivers side smashed in.

  11. Can a beer be purchased at the game?

There are a couple locations that sell them between periods, but no booze is allowed during the game. Make the sprint to the Sports Garden between periods, supposed to be nice up there this weekend.

  12. the season is on the home stretch and i think if the gophers were going to do anything they would have 2-3 months ago. they cant score. doesnt matter if you do hold a team to a goal and 2 goals. if you cant score you cant win. they have been taking 1 point per weekend, thats brutal. they arent going anywhere this season. they simply cant score. in order for the gophers to get into the final 5 i think they will have to win a tough road wcha playoff series whioch they can do if they can score more than 2 goals per game. on top of that they will have to win the final to get a auto bid as they arent just gona flip a switch to score as they have proven all season they cant do that vs decent teams

It's not totally out of the question, Gophers seem to play better on the road. I actually hope we have the Sioux luck they have had the last few years, start off a bit slow and then catch fire towards the end........the spark needs to catch VERY soon though! I honestly think it's only a matter of time before the goals start happening, and if Kangas keeps playing like he is they could make an impressive run. (Keep in mind that I am posting with my maroon glasses on.)

  13. Gorg obviously missed after the handshake fiasco when JPL and Kangas were talking to each other and then gave each other a "glove" bump.

I saw that too, thought that was great as well. Gorg was probably under Lucia's desk by then though so he did not see that. ;)

  14. I think the FSN staff has an agenda this weekend, they were trying to portray UND in a negative light. Did you guys hear Kevin Gorg after the games complaining about Finley, why did he have to single out big Joe? Like the Goofs are angles and share no fault in this matter.

Gorg is such an idiot. Even the question he asked Kangas on "if he could take Lammy" in a fight.....why would they ask something like that. I almost feel sorry for Kangas, what do you say to somethign like that!!!! I know what he said but still, I'm assuming he just pulled that response out of mid-air so he did not stare at the camera.
