I can't recall the last time I've ever seen a more focused and determined Sioux hockey team. Duluth assuming that they get through Notre Dame are going to have to dig deep if they have any hope of skating with a Sioux team with this much depth, speed, and size.
Dont the Sioux have to get through Michigan first?

Agreed. Like I said, PA called his initial comment "diseased." PA even said he was pissed off about it.
But care to share what he said that got dumped?
Nothing was dumped, PA wanted content dumped but it was too late.
DHG is a good guy, he just likes to stir the pot with opposing fan bases. He's ads big of a hockey fan as you'll ever meet.

UMD Takes their 3rd penalty of the game already....still 0-0
If they can kill 3 penalties to one of the best PP teams in the country that should be a pretty big boost for them.....not that I would keep taking dumb penalties.

This is the dumbest thing ever and if Minn and Wis can not see that then do not let the door hit you on the way out. I think just combine the WCHA and CCHA then add UAH and its all good. Maybe try to get a Cal school to add hockey or someone out west.

I saw less than 10 Gopher jerseys...sad.
I think alot of us Gopher fans went in stealth mode because we did not want to get grief about how things are going with the program, at least that's why I didn't wear any.
Did run into Goon between periods of the 2nd game though, always fun to shoot the breeze with him for a while.

Three of the funnest days as a college hockey fan. St Paul will be an absolute ZOO on Thursday with St. Pattys day and Saturday with the Final Five festivities and the Wild game going on. Weather looks to be pretty promising as well.
It's like the Big 10 Conf. already started without the Gophers and Wisco there this year.

UAA could do some damage at the Final Five, they are getting some great tending from Kamal right now and certainly deserved to move on this weekend. They are playing some great hockey right now.

Didn't the league used to announce the awards on the Wednesday before the Final Five? I don't remember these being announced before the playoffs began.
I think they did it the Thursday of the Final Five but now with two games that Thursday they bumped it up.

I'm sure the BTHC will make sure the Gofers know that they are special...
Minny definitely has the most to lose in the Big Ten scenario...what happens to their TV deal with FSN? Where is the Big Ten conference tourney to be held? (referenced above) They also potentially lose out on playing teams of historical significance (UND, DU, CC) and teams with local ties (UMD, St Cloud, Mankato, Bermidji). What's the attendance at Mariucci looking like with Ohio State and Penn State coming in vs the traditional WCHA teams? Could be tough for a couple years anyway...
Also, you replace series that were primarily short bus rides for airline flights to Columbus, Happy Valley, etc. That will cost them a few bucks as well.
Big Ten Hockey Conference is BAD for college hockey, imo.
What you just mentioned here are all the concerns I have as well. I can tell you one thing, I'm gonna save a TON of money on roadtrips......because there are none I'm gonna want to make anymore. Other then Michigan and Michigan State I'd have no interest in seeing any of the other schools. The TV thing scares me too, we've been downright spoiled over the years with about 95% of Gopher games televised, will be tough to say what will happen when the BTC happens. At least with only six teams we'll still be able to schedule games with the UND's, UMD's, SCSU and some of the other local flavors, but will Minnesota strongarm them and say if you want to play the Gophers you have to play them at Mariucci, which is what I'm afraid will happen as well. Gonna miss the roadtrips to SCSU, Kato, Grand Forks, and most of all DULUTH!!

These FSN announcers are awful. They need to take their maroon colored glasses off.
If they can't see that Wehrs taking Frattin into the net is what started the whole thing, then they're bigger idiots than I thought.
Actually I think Hankinson has been pretty fair to both sides, LaPanta is horrible and needs to go. Hankinson was even ripping on the Gophers diving there in the 2nd period.

On the Blood call, heck yes I'm serious. Stupid play on Barriballs part but you could tell Blood embellished a bit. The Hextall one was a legit call though, stupid play on Ness.

Nice to hear him speak up about the whole Big 10 deal, and he brings up some very valid points. All of which will be totally ignored though I'm sure. Glad to see him single out Alvarez who was the starting factor in the whole thing anyways.

Was he trying to paint a picture that Maverick fans are saints or something? I've been down there many times for Gopher games vs. 'Kato and their fans are possibly the biggest drunks I've seen in the league. I'm sure they do fine on their own with alchohol sales and trips to detox.

I don't think Minnesota would ever want to leave the WCHA, Alvarez has made it pretty clear that he would like to see the Big 10 league happen though. But if Lucia would have a vote in the decision I would almost guarantee he would shoot it down. But in the end for Minnesota I suppose it's up to Maturi, and who knows what that idiot would do.

the 4th is a sunday. no basketball.
You'd want the championship on a Sunday? Does not leave much time for travel to get back home for a Monday for people that have to work! I kind of like having it on a Saturday, get together with friends and have some beers and not have to worry about work the next day.....of course one of these years I'm actually hoping the Gophers make it to the Frozen Four again!
I would like the see the break between the Regional and the Frozen Four only a week though, I think the two week break kills momentum of alot of teams.
