I'm also excited about the venue.  That the small size keeps some folks home is a problem, but not nearly as big a problem as 2500 people and 13000 empty seats.  My first choice would be higher seeds hosting, but all the games played before packed crowds of 3000 would be second for me, with cavernous, last of us, largely deserted arenas a distant third.  Just my opinion.

Le't just get the games back to campus where they belong!

I have admittedly been a bit down on the squad lately, and it's not so much score related as it is the eye test.  In their five recent losses, when things have gone sideways, the team has just fallen apart late.  It has made for some memorable times for the CC and Omaha players and fans, all that rejoicing and celebrating, but it's been less fun here.

I think back to the all-time heavy line, Canady-Massen-Fabian, who turned momentum around time after time down the stretch.  Someone on this team needs to be able to do something to tilt the ice back.  I've had enough of Tigers and Mavericks flying around laughing in the closing minutes.

In the first few weeks this year you could tell this team could contend for everything.  That they could be that good.  We know they can play great.  Let's see it again please.

After  playing the Badgers early in the year, I thought this team has the potential to be a Frozen Four team.  Our defense was so good at limiting their chances and our goalie played great.  How do we get back to that?

Disagree with the first bolded. 1 team wins a title each season.

I agree with you that I think we've played worse defensively over the past month or so. I'm also confident that they will get back to that level on Friday. They were last there in the first round of the NCHC playoffs against Miami. It's not like it's been forever.

My overall point to this run of conversation, it's not a lack of motivation. It's all about getting to our game and getting it done. The players do this. There's no doubt that they know what to do and how to do it. Just need to execute. And if it doesn't happen, blaming Bubs makes no sense to me. He's made adjustments. He did it in game against Omaha by bringing Johannes to the top line and you saw they play better in the third.

Seemed like we got the fast start we wanted against Omaha and then got outworked the remaining 58 minutes of the game.  We need Luddy to step up big time and our team defense has to be better or it will be a long day against Michigan.

I call that the tap out game. UND would dump the puck into a corner and hammer the Gopher D and take the puck over and over and as the game went on UND would dump the puck in the corner and then go get it as the Gopher D tapped out and offered zero resitance and quit even trying to possess the puck.

    Love that take!

Berry has had a lot of firsts in his 8 year stint. You can blame bounces, that’s hockey’s etc but one common denominator is what ?

We got an early start for golf season?

C'mon now, its a simple formula .... recruit grindaz (you want the right players, not the best ones), bag skate the team, threaten to replace a guy and flip an equipment table in the locker room. You'll motivate them to win a championship or maybe even the Olympics!

    No chippahs?

Um Pride, Did you not see the other teams play that were locks, with the exception of BU who got stomped by BC, there should be fire every game. This is a terrible precedent to set for any person, business or team.  We are UND, we expect more, even if we were out of the NCAA tournament and not making it, I would expect the team to come out and be full throttle till the final whistle.  Just doesn't make sense.

Yes, play for a little pride.  I can remember playing Minnesota in a 3rd place Final Five game (2005) and the boys absolutely wanted the W.  I mean you’re playing the Gofers, who wouldn’t want to stomp them?  In the Star Trib they quoted a Gofer player(s), said it was hard to get up for a third place game; they had already clinched their spot in the NCAA's.  Sioux win 4-2; Spirko leaves Harrington of Minny standing still as he goes around him to score.
Now fast forward a few weeks and who do we meet in the Frozen Four?  Same Gofers, this time there's a lot more on the line.  Now Minny gonna flip the switch?  Sorry Gofers, you lose again.

Until UND did it to Michigan in 2024, no team had ever won an NCAA regional game by more than two touchdowns AND been drug tested in the locker room immediately after the game.

Hunter Johannes was found to be on medications for high blood pressure, cholesterol, and enlarged prostate.   Everyone else was clean.

Jim Harbaugh send some spies out to video UND’s practices as his going away gift to Michigan?

I would be more concerned about whether we show up.  Michigan has a ton of talent, but they have lived off their power play.  Stay out of the box, and take advantage of some of their youthful mistakes and this could be an entertaining game.

Their goaltending has been a little up and down as well.

A win against MI not only advances UND in the tournament, but also shines a positive light on our school to any blue chip recruits & worthwhile grinders who may be undecided. Free advertising.

According to the selection show we're a real heavy, in your face team.  Can't wait to see that!

UND didn’t get anywhere near 10K at the X on Friday…what makes you think there would be that many in St. Louis?

Attendance was listed as about 8700…that would be close to half of the X.  The lower bowl and club level looked about 1/3 full.  Upper deck was closed.  I’d be surprised if they sell out in St Louis but hope they do.

Would love to see some new blood in the NCAA broadcast team for ESPN but guess that's asking too much.

Anyone but Bucci and Colby…they are BAD!
