I'm at the games this weekend and will be posting them when I get home, either Sunday night or Monday.

Amen. Worst thing was having someone stand up and leave in the middle of a Sioux rush to our end of the ice. I have never left a game before the final horn. I actually wish I knew they were putting the Minn/Minn St. game on the jumbo tron tonight, I'd have stuck around to watch it. NOBODY better leave early tomorrow, after we dispatch of Tech, we have to enjoy the stick salute and more importantly send off our seniors.

How big was the shut-out tonight for solidifying Phils spot in the Hobey Hattrick? I know that facing 14 shots did not improve his save percentage much (only .01%), but his goals against average is down to a 1.61. He is currently leading in GAA and is tied for the national lead in Save % and shut-outs. While I agree that the Hobey is Porter's to lose, I think Phil has a great chance to make the hattrick, and that in itself would be GREAT considering the goalie position was our biggest questionmark at the beginning of the year. Keep it up JPL!!

Don't forget the most important one: UND - 4 Tech - 0

I'm starting it out with Kaip

WELCOME TO GAME #5 OF SIOUX SURVIVOR!! RULES: Anyone can enter. Only 1 entry per person Each night the Sioux play, you are allowed to select 1 Sioux player you think will score a goal. Your player must score or you are eliminated from the competition. If your player scores a goal, you will move on to the next night the Sioux play. You will again select 1 Sioux player you think will score a goal, HOWEVER, you may not select the player you used in the previous round(s) as you can only use each player 1 time, and 1 time only. Again, if your player does not score a goal, you are eliminated. If your player does score a goal, you will again move on to the next night the Sioux play. Last one standing is the SURVIVOR! ***You MUST post your selection by replying to this thread.*** All selections must be in 1/2 hour prior to game time(ex. game time 737p, picks must be in by 700p). We will be using this boards clock as the official clock. If you qualify but miss a game, you are automatically ELIMINATED from the game. If all people are eliminated in the same night, all players that were eligible for that game will carry over to the next Sioux game as thought all their players scored the previous night. You are allowed to post "if I make it" picks for a weekend series. For example: Sioux play Fri/Sat. You can make your picks for both games, please post these in the same post. Once your selection is made, you can NOT change it. Be aware of who is dressing and who is not, it is YOUR responsibility to find out! All first round picks must be submitted by 130p central time Sunday, Mar. 2nd. Siouxsports.com will be used for all official stats and time keeping. Looking for a recording of Sat night St Cloud game
RedFrog replied to jojordan23's topic in Men's Hockey
When I pull the goals from the games, I'll look for this, but they don't tend to show crowd shots during intermissions. If I find it, I'll let you know. -
CC over AAU in 2 UND over MTU in 2 DU over UMD in 3 UM over MSUM in 3 UW over SCSU in 3 Colorado College over Alaska Anchorage - 2 games (not even close in either game) UND over Michigan Tech - 2 games (1st game will be a 3 OT thriller!) UM-Duluth over Denver - 3 games (2 OT games are split while Duluth wins 1 in regulation) Mankato over Minnesota - 2 games (Minnesota forgets how to score again and Kangas gets pulled) St. Cloud over Wisconsin - 3 games (this one is tuff to pick, but I think the 3rd game may still be going on when the F5 starts on Thursday )

As pointed out (but missed?) in a post earlier in this thread. I'd have to go with Vande Velde(14g 15a) as being the most improved from last year. Kozek sure has been solid for us this year, especially after being moved to the top line. Vande has consistently been a contributor this year regardless of where he's been, and this last weekend, his line w/ Kaip and Watkins was the best on the ice for either team. Now, if your just going on most improved within the current season, then you can bring up the Martens/Kozek debate.

Actually, the way the Pairwise works, is by comparing your team (The Sioux) against all other teams under consideration(TUC)(Top 25 of RPI). The way they compare them is by awarding points in 4 statistical categories: 1. RPI - higher RPI wins 1 comparison point 2. TUC - higher win percentage against TUC's wins 1 comparison point. Both teams must have at least 10 games played against TUC's for this comparison to be used(see Miami) 3. COp - higher win percentage against common opponents for the 2 teams being compared wins 1 comparison point. 4. H2H - Head to head, each team receives 1 point for a win against the team they are being compared against. Now, to determine where you sit in the Pairwise, they add up how many total comparisons each team wins and rank them from most comparison wins to least. 1t Colorado College 23 1t Michigan 23 3 New Hampshire 22 4t North Dakota 21 4t Miami 21 6 Denver 19 7 Clarkson 17 8t Boston College 16 8t St. Cloud State 16 10 Michigan State 15 11 Minnesota State 13 12 Minnesota 12 13 Wisconsin 11 14t Boston University 10 14t Minnesota-Duluth 10 16t Notre Dame 8 16t Vermont 8 16t Harvard 8 19 Massachusetts 6 20t Providence 5 20t Princeton 5 22t Quinnipiac 4 22t Michigan Tech 4 24 Cornell 2 25 Northeastern 1 The number you see to the right of the team is how many comparison's they have won versus the other 24 TUC's. Currently the Sioux are winning 21 of 24 possible comparisons. They are losing comparisons to Michigan, Colorado College and New Hampshire. Everyone else on the list, the Sioux are winning the comparison. If you go the comparison chart on USCHO you can see each comparison individually to see how close each team is with each other, or what teams need to do to flip comparisons versus other teams. Jim also has a good chart to view the comparisons. Here is the Sioux comparison chart. Let's take a look at one of the Sioux comparisons - We'll use the Miami comparison, whom the Sioux are currently tied for 4th with. und vs mu .5866 1 RPI 0 .5808 19-8-4 .6774 0 TUC 0 .7222 6-2-1 2-1-2 .6000 0 COp 1 1.000 3-0-0 0-0-0 0 H2H 0 0-0-0 1 TOT 1 [/codebox] Now, as you see, each team wins 1 comparison point, thus making the comparison between these 2 teams a tie. The Sioux win the tie breaker as the higher RPI is used to break ties. You'll see that Miami only has a 6-2-1 record versus TUC's, that's only 9 games, therefore that category is thrown out and no comparison points are awarded. Miami plays Bowling Green this coming weekend, and they are not a TUC, so we'll have to wait another week to see if Miami will hit the 10 game mark. Now lets look at the COp for the 2 teams. The common opponents each team played are Michigan State and St. Cloud State. The Sioux went 1-0 vs Mich. St. and 1-1-2 vs SCSU, whereas, Miami went 2-0 vs Mich. St. and 1-0 vs SCSU. There is little chance we can flip this category after this last weekends splits vs SCSU. I hope this all helps explain a little bit how the PWR works. It's all about winning the comparisons.

Picked this up off of someone elses signature. Not sure if it's really TJ, but looks like him.

Considering the injuries, what is the possibility of seeing Radke back on the blue-line? I know that Hak has shown confidence in both the freshman, enough so to put them on the ice together at times this year. Just throwing it out there as another possibility. If you do put him back at D, who do you bring off the bench to replace him at forward? I'm going to assume that Miller gets Trupp's spot, therefore I'm thinking that Davidson would replace Radke as the physical presence Davidson could bring would be more suited to the role he would be filling. Just a thought.
