Wow. What a disappointing loss. I know this wasn't the end of the season but I really wanted the Sioux to have the potential of getting a triple crown of college hockey. Really though, that first goal was all on Eidsness. BIG mental mistake on his part. Reminds me of a goal Denver scored on Wisconsin back in the Madison series. We HAVE to win against Wisconsin tomorrow. If we don't...doesn't bode well for us entering the NCAA Tournament.

5 Minute Major on UMD. PP for the Sioux. Still...
-
Watkins down. Didn't look good. He was grimacing. Looked like his knee
-
Not the start I wanted to see. The Sioux just gotta win! Tomorrow is my damn birthday and I wanna see them tomorrow playing in the championship game! Come on Sioux!! Gotta put some pucks behind Stalock!
-
I don't see Colorado College getting rid of Scott Owens the season after winning the MacNaughton Cup. Now next season if CC falls off the earth then he's gonna be in some hot water.
-
I would. I mean didn't you hear? Kangas is back! With a 3-game winning streak to prove it. Beating SCSU twice and Tech once to compile that win streak....UMD really doesn't stand a chance. I'm hoping UMD does win. I wouldn't mind if we had to see the Gophers again but I'd actually like to see a UMD//UND semifinal match especially since we didn't have the greatest series against them earlier in the season.

Matt Watkins MIA Great picture though!!

Brad Schlossman posted on his blog that the Sioux will be playing in the Friday night game. Whether it's Minnesota or Minnesota-Duluth is yet to be determined.
-
Well I know that isn't fully true. The 1997 Fighting Sioux squad won the MacNaughton Cup(co-champs) as well as the National Championship. Unless you don't count triple crowning cause they did win the MacNaughton(co-champs), Broadmoor, and National Title that year.
-
Looks like a 3rd game if necessary is overrated.
-
Good job! Now go ahead and beat Minnesota on Thursday . I'd like to see a UMD//UND match. Especially since UND lost and tied to UMD in the only series between the two.
-
I'm glad the Sioux skated around with the MacNaughton Cup and didn't treat it like it was an STD like the Gophers did . Onward to the Final Five!

You gotta get over it. There are going to be people who will not cheer for NDSU. Most of them are the ones who got to live and witness the UND-NDSU rivalry. Considering I was in mere junior high/high school when I got to watch the last two UND/NDSU football games and pretty young I didn't really get to despise NDSU. However, some of you NDSU fans are total pricks(even in Minot!). Luckily, it's the team and not the fans that represent NDSU athletics so I actually follow the football program whenever there on TV. Now if there is one team I could never EVER cheer for it'd be anything related to Minnesota Golden Gopher athletics. It's pretty much the same case for those who who won't cheer for NDSU. Or for others they simply don't live in ND and could care less about NDSU

Congrats to the Bison. I don't follow basketball but what an accomplishment. Great win.

I'd direct it to there Athletic Communications department. Seems like the best fit. I'd send it to Justin Doherty Assistant Athletic Director for Communications jmd@athletics.wisc.edu

It wouldn't be the first time Denver doesn't make it past the WCHA first-round playoffs while playing at home. 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons come to my mind where they lost to UMD and UW respectively in the first-round while playing at Magness. Which effectively ruined there chances of getting into the national tournament both seasons. Sadly there a lock this year

I agree. If it happened it shouldn't go unnoticed.

In all honesty I thought we played pretty well 5 on 5 hockey. Our PP bit us in the arse tonight. Team doesn't have to hang there heads low tonight. PP really needs some serious overhaul or something. It's just plain awful during long stretches of time. Next up the Techie Huskies! Let's beat them in two! GO SIOUX!!
-
I'm surprised how UMD has pretty much fallen flat on there faces. I was placing them to finish 3rd in the standings before the Minnesota series.
-
He said he'd only give them a couple of hours to celebrate...what could they have done?....
-
That is what I've been trying to get across earlier. When he turns the puck over most of the time it is very costly mistake. If he could just fix that up that would be awesome
-
They haven't really done that bad at home. They did get swept by Denver and even Northern Michigan at home but otherwise they've played pretty well at home.
-
A sweep at the Kohl Center alludes us another year. Always seem to have a tough time playing Wisco when there at home.
-
Well Wisconsin scores again. 4-1.

Indeed. Frattin has been pretty quiet as of late goal-scoring wise. He has a great sniping shot. It'd be great see him to start making noise.
