Most people remember the hockey. Some don't remember anything. And others.............they use their imagination.

It is fun to watch the PWR, even if it is pretty meaningless early on. Cheap entertainment.
-
Shoot...................You just ruined my plan to upgrade from SRO to something with seats. Guess I need to come up with a better scheme.
-
So.....you're saying people should be looking to sell their west regional tickets now since UND is ranked so low in the pairwise, right?
-
Unless Minnesota pulls out a tremendous comeback, the B1G goes 1-3-1 tonight with Penn St. getting the only victory.

Sioux women beat Wisconsin on a shootout goal by Becca Kohler. Way to go.

Penalties should have no relevance to whether or not the player was injured. They should be assessed based on the rules and the potential to cause serious injury.

Even thought SCSU is up 2-0, I am not at all impressed with their puck control. They seem to constantly be turning it over. They can't catch passes, they can't control it on their stick, and they can't make passes. Yet, they lead.

Hmmmm......Wonder if there were any matching t-shirts to go with the sign.

If you do the Thursday night session you can pick me up on the way through Fergus Falls.

Aw shucks. And I thought that I was special because I got one.

Goon = %GOBC??

I got in at 11:10 and was able to access two standing room only tickets. Since I already had a pair of those, I passed. But I did get through that once.

Travel safe tonight folks. There was at least a four vehicle accident on I-29 last night after the game. Hopefully no one was seriously injured, although at least one vehicle looked like it might have rolled. It looked bad.

Just got two SRO tickets. I am in the 1400+ priority range.

What a difference from Friday night's game. UND put on an impressive display of passing and skating up until CC scored their first goal. It was a dominating performance. Once CC scored, UND was back on its heels a bit through the rest of the second period and CC really stepped up their game. Then UND kind of took over again in the third. The CC broadcaster is either a joke or he did not see the CFB hit. It was right in front of us and there was no doubt in my mind. There wasn't any doubt in the minds of the refs either. Usually they get together and talk for a minute or two just to be sure. This discussion wasn't even 15 seconds. Unfortunately, CC tried to play Gopher tough by hitting after the whistle, jabbing the goalie with the stick, and then whining when they got a penalty. We were evidently sitting in the section reserved for hockey dummies. We heard CC fans state that (1) UND should be called for a penalty because they checked the CC player with the puck; (2) that it was not sporting behavior for UND to pull their goalie on a delayed penalty when they were up 7-2; (3) that the major penalty calls on CC were unfair because CC is just a small private school; and several other ones that were just ridiculous. UND simply looked in late season form in this game. Hopefully they can keep it going, and also that Caggiula comes out of the head contact fine. Also, read Brad's story about McIntyre saving the moth.

Another sunny day (mostly) in Colorado Springs. Air Force - New Mexico football game in the afternoon and then straight to the hockey game. A chance to see a UND road sweep. Beware of little CC fans at the arena. The kids like to sneak up behind you and put CC Tigers stickers on your Fighting Sioux jersey.

My observations from the Springs. Caggiula takes way too many dumb penalties. He needs to clean up his act. Sioux took a number of penalties in the second period by not skating. Lots of gliding and hooking going on. Too many players with lack of effort at times, Parks, Pattyn - both got beat to the puck at times because they glided while the CC player skated. Streaky game. At times UND played extremely well and at times not so well. The defense gave up way too many Grade A scoring opportunities, especially in the third. McIntyre saved the team numerous times. Passing was off for much of the game, likely due to the wider ice sheet changing their angles. Team looked tired by half way through the third period. Poolman looked good for a starting freshman. He was by no means perfect, but he played pretty well. This was MacMillan's best game so far. Maybe having Pattyn on his line helped. Stecher looked solid. LaDue seemed to have issues at times. So, there was some good in the game tonight, but also lots of room for improvement. The best news is the team has the opportunity for a sweep.

Mr. and Mrs. Siouxman are on location. Oh........did you mean the team?

There is another obvious location, right next to the Basin Electric Antelope Valley power plants and coal gasification plant at Beulah. The site has a large water pipeline from Lake Sakakawea to the site, heavy duty rail service directly to the site, it is close to the oil development, etc. Haven't heard anything about the chances for the site, but it likely has the infrastructure. The question might be proximity to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and any potential environmental emissions concerns related to air quality in the park.

Yup, we definitely need another Siouxsports.com gathering at Hoggsbreath for the Frozen Faceoff so I can get all of this history straight. I already ordered my tickets. -
Will be at CC watching the games and cheering on the Sioux in person.

I thought the coach was Bjork Rubeman when Wilbur's Dad went to school. -
The famous finger is probably the closest Hakstol has come to being ejected. From just a coaching perspective, the classic example is UND's 6-3 victory over MN a couple of years ago. Late in the second period UND had a total of two shots on goal for the game, were trailing 0-3, and were totally outclassed. Hakstol called the infamous timeout. Publicly it is claimed nothing was said, but from that moment on the game was 180 degrees opposite. Gopher fans were fleeing for the exits when the Sioux made it 5-3

Who is Bjornson? Simple question. Come back when you can speak and spell English.
