  1. I wish we got to hear the horn more often last year ;)

There is a taste difference between imported (US version) Blue and Molson than the domestic (Canadian version). The domestic is much smoother and the imported seems a little more Heinekin-like (to me). You really can't beat a domestic long neck Blue or Blue Light. This was discovered after turning 18 and driving either one hour to Emerson our two hours to catch a Jets game in Winnepeg. Sometimes both.

To me, the band makes the the college atmoshpere that more "collegey." If I want to hear Guns-N-Roses or Start Me Up, I can go to the dome or plop in a tape in the boombox . . .

  2. It might be the traditional time at which elections are held because the fiscal year ends June 31. But that's just a guess.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Brookings, SD (SDSU) has June elections as well. If you think you have it tough in GF, try being a college student in a town of 15,000 during the aftermath of the illustrious "Hobo Day Riot." They were out for SDSU blood . . . but it eventually toned done after a few years (for both sides).

  3. Meanwhile...back onto the argument of student seating and corporate gurus at REA...I think there are some things to be learned from the atmosphere in Columbus. If Sioux fans from all over the US can get together and have fun in Columbus, how come Sioux fans in Grand Forks can't do the same at REA?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Two totally different crowds IMO. You want the hockey faithfull (Columbus crowd) at REA. The people more than likely raising the red flag is the corporate (tax ride off season tix) crowd - the same people who have season tix at the Fritz. The crowd - students and the community - will getter better with time (as the newness weares off and the "true" hockey fans remain) and will hopefully return to the old days of the old Englestad.

  4. I notice that after Wisco plays at REA on Nov. 4-5, there isn't another home series until the Gophs on Dec. 9-10 - that is quite a span without home hockey, but Duluth and St. Cloud are always fun roadtrips!

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Maybe there's a Class B elementary school basketball tournament scheduled at The Ralph those weekends?

  5. Get me some Sun Country too, my friend. I just heard that David Lee Roth is leaving Van Halen. Man, that sucks!

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Next thing you know Kiss is going to take off their makeup. One thing is for sure, this glam metal is here to stay, along with cassette tapes and Beta-vision. CD's, VHS, "grunge rock" . . . whatever man.

  6. Wow! That is big news. I turned off ESPN though just after they discussed the Final Four. Man, Clyde Drexler, Akeem Olajuwon, Michael Young, Larry Michaux, and company are gonna beat poor North Carolina State by 50 points tonite! Go Phi Slamma Jamma!

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Carolina's over-rated. I'd take Sam Bowie anyday over that Jordan guy.

  7. Sorry, I musta missed it. I was at the Metrodome last night watching the Twins play. I think those youngsters they have like Kent Hrbek, Tom Brunansky, Gary Gaetti, and Frank Viola just might make them a contender someday.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hey, did you here the news?!!! The Vikes traded for Hershall Walker! They gave up some draft picks, but man, I smell Super Bowl baby! ???

  8. From Sioux hockey to Michigan Stadium to the Masters? You have de-railed. Watching GOLF? Tie me to a street pole out in front of Mariucci and paint me maroon and gold first. Ugh.

Dagies, Sioux-cia, and PCM sitting on the same couch together? Well, not that there's anything wrong with that...

On another note, aren't Ratt and Poison coming to the Xcel Energy Center soon?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

No. St. Paul Civic Center my man. Saw Living Colour and Billy Squire there last week . . .

  9. Ah man, you got cable. You suck. I'm gonna get a 2 litre bottle of Sun Country wine cooler and sulk. Maybe I'll pick up a Circus, Metal Edge or Hit Parader magazine and read about them.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Or maybe I'll catch a movie at the new Columbia Four or at South Forks Plaza . . . I see Rocky III and Top Gun are out, and ohhhh a Die Hard and Cocktail double feature . . .

  10. Stryper?  I think I saw their new video last night on Headbanger's Ball!

  11. I'd pick the Final Five as well. Good playoff college hockey is better than football in my book.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'll buy the beer if you save me a seat at the FF.

I would, however, love to see a football game at Notre Dame, the Big House, Camp Randall, the Horseshoe, etc. Anything besides the %$*@$^ Metrodome.

  12. How fitting is it that the last headline of the 2004-2005 hockey season as viewed on Gophersuxlive.com is..........

"Sioux out hit, out hustle, and outscore Gophers, win 4-2"

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

As Homer J. Simpson would say, "It's so funny because it's true."

  13. Stop bugging me and compelling me to reply.  Family Ties is on.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Mmmmmmm . . . Malorie Keaton . . . maybe it's the "special episode" where Alex is using speed to help him get through thre pressures of his high school tests. Or maybe I'm confusing that with the "special espisode" of Saved By The Bell with Jessie on drugs? Or was that Blossom . . . no, . . . Diffren't Strokes I think . . .

Enough already, I've got to go to the mall and pick up a Walkman so I can some new tapes of all the bands you guys have been talking about. Maybe I'll stop by Spencer gifts too and pick up a new poster.

  14. That can be the only possible reason for hair loss - especially if we both used LA Looks ??? . Time to put in some Firehouse into the tape player and have another New Coke.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Check that. I think I better have a Pepsi Free instead - too many Funyans . . .

  15. I am considering filing a class action suit against LA Looks.  Anyone else think their product CAUSED their hair loss?

Whoa...Trixter is on the radio.  Good tune!

  16. It's pretty normal for a kid who leaves his hometown or state to be arrogant towards those he "left behind." I felt the same way when I left for Mpls. It lasted a few years during my early-to-mid 20's. Then I realized there were more and more things I missed about ND. Now, I'm trying to find my way out of here . . .

A lot of "kids" feel this when they leave, unfortunately, his reckless thoughts and ramblings got published.

  17. Vaht? What is a tape? Where is my old man to explain this.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

A tape is what you put into your custom Craico or Jensen stereo cassette player/receiver with four pre-set radio stations (XL 93, Rock 107.5, Magic 96 and Y94) in either your 2 dr Blazer or your Firebird . . . the ladies dug it . . . heck, I even had "auto reverse" my man.

  18. Actually, cfm, I just looked at my CD collection, pulled out Vanilla Ice, and read the lyrics from there. It was right between Milli Vanilli and Richard Marx.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Scary . . . I think I saw Richard Marx at the Hyslop with the girlfriend. She liked Bartles & James wine coolers and I think I had a Members Only jacket. OMG, I think I had a Vanilla Ice . . . tape . . . oh boy.
