  1. Thanks for all of the advice so far. Whistler, please expand/explain what "I'd take a corner anywhere as long as you are inside the near board" means.

BTW . . . I'll always be a Sioux fan (born and raised Sioux fan) . . . I think the only time I could see me cheering for BSU over the Sioux is October 15, 2010. We get to the REA 3-4x a year and plan to continue the tradition.

  2. I ditto corner & above glass & if you can get front row in upper or top row lower, it would be nice & think ahead if you want to be near family or friends - on the end where Bemidji shoots twice is a must

After over 25 yrs you get used to watching from a certain angle / height & want to sit in similar seating - it's not like Football where everyone thinks 50 yd line is best

Not having folks who jump up every time something exciting is about to happen is a must, so everyone can see, every play :silly:

that front row just above that handicapped section in upper left corner looks good - if that's the end the Beavers will shoot twice

BSU goes left to right twice (attack end is right side twice per game). The students are also on the right side/end of the rink.

  3. Hi all. I live in Bemidji and will be selecting season tickets for the new BSU arena. I know many of you went through a similar process and had to make similar decisions when they were building The Ralph.

We're a family of four with two boys in hockey. Choices basically are "silver" totaling $2100, "bronze" totaling $1700 or non-donation (pink) totaling $1300. Here is a seating chart. Besides the obvious better seats, the silver provides free parking at the arena, along with a few more perks than bronze. With non-donation, you don't get any perks (ie football tickets, etc). You can park on site - but it will be pretty far away and will be $5-10 per night.

So I wanted to know, if any of you could select your seats again, what would you do different? With our boys getting older (one entering Squirts) we'll be eventually traveling more, etc. Any favorite sections within the silver, bronze or pink?

    Thanks!

  4. You need to immediately wash your mouth out with soap for saying "Gophers" and "win" in the same sentence... :silly:

At least it's a little easier wanting the Gophers to win this year . . . I do like the "Lose CC" battle cry much more though.

  5. I was wondering if any of the other mac users out there have tried to use Siouxtra to watch sioux hockey? are any of the browsers better? I know Chrome might be to new, but i've been having problems with my safari.

Any advice would be appreciated. I signed into my Siouxtra account and paid for a daily pass to watch the game tonight. But the window it opens for me only has the audio as an option. Am i just to eager?

    Thanks in Advance

I've had success with Firefox and Safari. I don't the the video is available through Fightingsioux.com - only through the B2network.

  6. If there are 6 WCHA in the NCAA tourney, you can bet that they will place 3 of the WCHA teams in the same regional. The NCAA does not ever want to have a repeat of an all WCHA Forzen Four again. There could be 3 WCHA teams playing in the Minney regional.

Don't forget Bemidji State currently tied for 5th.

  7. I'm looking for 26" goalie leg pads - ideally used and in very good condition. Not much selection here in Bemidji. Looking for something similar to RBK 7K, Vaughn's or Bauers. Also looking for a youth chest protector.

PM me if you have any coming up for sale or if you've seen any around.

    Thanks.

  8. xl hammer is right. The important factor is refresh rate. For watching puck, you'll want at least a 120 refresh rate. Generally, the higher the contrast rate, the better the picture quality. If your room has windows, you'll want an LCD (glare on plasma). For brands, be sure to compare apples-to-apples/model # to model # when price shopping. I personally prefer Samsung, LG, Sharp and Mitsubishi. Do not buy a $100 HDMI cord - they all relay a digital signal. Go to Menards, or wherever, or on the web and pick one up for $30.

  9. I wish Hennesey could some how get synced to TV

I've plugged my laptop with the Sioux audio into the stereo. It was about a minute behind the TV broadcast. We have a DVR, so I paused it for about a minute or so, tweaked a little and it was spot on. Ah . . . the joys of being a Sioux fan. :)

  10. Really? Who does the commentary then?

    From the BTN web site:

"Former Wisconsin captain and current Chicago Blackhawks winger Adam Burish and former Minnesota and now retired NHL veteran Darby Hendrickson will rotate as studio analysts for the network's shows alongside studio host Rick Pizzo, who played goaltender at the NCAA Division III level."

I don't mind Wooger, but I don't know if I've ever heard Frank really ever complement an opposing team - especially the Sioux. I think you could have a drinking game every time those two take a dig at the Sioux! :)
