  1. That was my first time at the Kohl, great fun!
  2. I went to the Saturday game with three 20 something y/o Wisconsin fans. One of them admitted knowing very little about hockey but enjoyed going to the games. (Umpires?!? Are you kidding me?? LOL) They were wearing their red and white and I was in my Prpich garish green jersey. As we were walking into the arena, I saw a small group of Sioux fans and yelled, 'Sioux Yeah Yeah'. They stared at me blankly. We sat in section 218. I sang the national anthem and yelled Sioux with my right arm outstretched in a salute and no one gave me any grief. My friends and I gave each other crap during the game and enjoyed each others discomfort during the other team's scoring and our own teams penalties. I don't care if the Wi students know anything about the game or not. They're college students who are at the game to have a good time. So what? Why should that affect us at all? I enjoyed watching them. I wish our students were as enthusiastic. Just image, students who know what's going on during the game and really getting into it with chants and dances. We would have an awesome student section. The RIT students who went to Detroit were absolutely entertaining throughout the F4, even though their team fell quickly and decisively their first game. It was fun watching them engage the other groups around them through out the tournament. I don't think any one of them went home early just because their team lost. What's wrong with having fun?? Hell yeah, I want to watch the game AND win but I like having fun as well. After the game, my friends took me to 'the Churchkey', a little bar not far from the arena. I was the only one in Green and White. Several guys, some drunk and some not so drunk, came up and shook my hand, told me it was a good game. A couple added that we still sucked and I laughed. Someone bought me a tequila shot (OMG! It had been awhile!!) and a couple others bought me a beer. As the only visible Sioux fan in the bar, I was an easy target but no one treated me badly. I had a great time. I think it's wrong to lump an entire state and student body into the same trash heap because of the bad acts of a few. Unless we have interacted with each and every one of them, I don't know how we can say a certain percentage are jerks and a lower percentage are less than jerks...unless we're talking about Gopher fans of course (jk?). I have been working in Wisconsin for six months now and the people here have been great to me. They have treated me like a long, lost, much missed relative. It's been great. Not to say there aren't some who can't stand me and wish I would leave, NOW, and vice versa. I'm sorry you had a bad experience because you had the bad luck to run into the azz wipes of the Wisconsin fan base. If you believe in Karma or 'what goes aroung comes around', you know they're going to get their's, ten-fold.
  3. I've had patients, usually college students, who have had lingering weakness and fatigue for 8 and more weeks. Nasty virus!
  4. I didn't get an email to cancel so I was surprised at the $59.95 deduction in my statement and I didn't know who JumpTV was until I got more detail in my statement.
  5. I ordered SIoux Sports on line last year when I was in Ohio. I just got my bank statement and saw a deduction for it in October. I called the JumpTV and was told the account renewed automatically every year. I didn't know that. Maybe it's written somewhere and I missed it. Just a head's up to my fellow subscribers!
  6. This story mentions that Jesse has lost some feeling and strenght in his arms due to trauma to his spinal cord. With a C2 injury, I would have thought that if there was residual loss to any limb it would have been lower. Let's all hope for a full recovery. http://blogs.denverpost.com/sports/2010/11/09/jesse-martins-surgery-was-fabulous/13935/
  7. It was great meeting you and hope you can make the trip back again!
  8. JESSE'S WALKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His vertebrae did not require fusing so there is a possiblity that he can play hockey again! Thank you, God and Jesse's great surgeons!!!! http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/article/888322--ncaa-hockey-player-walking-after-surgery-for-broken-neck
  9. Yeah, them, too! They're everywhere!! Just change the names and this sounds like he's talking about some Sioux fans. "whatever happened to Tiger fans talking !@#$, getting drunk, and pissing everyone else off while we root like hell for our team?!? now it's just people finding something else to complain about, whether it's KW making the team, Miles sucking, Crowton sucking, JJ sucking, etc. geez, we've turned into bammers. let's get behind this team and get our minds right!" http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/messagetopic.asp?p=21980842
  10. Do hockey players ever lose their passion for the game and just want to move on to something else? I'm just asking. I think Eids has a lot to offer the team and I hope he gets a chance to prove it to all you nervous nellies.
  11. Or, they could take the badger by the tail.... *Do badgers have tails?*
  12. Just a little note about Simpson's dad, Craig, which I thought worthy enough for this thread. He and Jamie Sale won Canada's 'Battle of the Blades' last year. The prize money, $100,000, was donated to a spinal cord injury treatment center. http://www.cbc.ca/ca...-finale016.html http://www.youtube.c...h?v=19bQC4RxCgc
  13. Last heard, he was at the Hennipin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
  14. Great idea!! I hope it's still there tomorrow. I'll text my son and his gf and make sure they sign it tonight.
  15. Clutching and riding on Fighting Sioux hockey players is not a penalty. Remember how the DOT line always seemed to have one or two opposing players hanging on their backs when ever they were on the ice??
  16. I was kvetching about the penalty at work (in WI) and someone told me that they (the refs) should penalize 'hard hits'. WTF??? How would anyone differentiate from a "too hard', 'too soft' or 'just hard enough' hit? Maybe Goldilocks should be ref'ing....
  17. That crap is not welcome here. If you want to be an a**hole go to your own forum.
  18. Siouxmama's daughter in law and I were absolutely the first in line to get into the arena and the first in line at the Sioux Shop! We were told that the jersey's would be brought INTO the shop. As more and more people came into the store we were pushed further back into the store. The people who came last and stood in the entrance of the shop got the jerseys because that is where they passed them out!! It was an absolute mess! I got one but had to pay someone who did get one, an extra hundred for it. Worth it to me but still a totally assinine way to sell them to the fans.
  19. There's a time and a place and making that comment after saying Jesse didn't believe it was an illegal hit was not the time or place.
  20. Nice write up. I have no doubt that Big Joe will be invited to the big dance in no time!
