  1. Sagard,

I think you are correct. It is tough to argue with what the Gophers have done to date, but this past weekend has to have Lucia concerned. They haven't had any bumps. They are bound to hit some bumps at some point, and then it will be a big issue as to how the younger players respond. I think that this weekend showed that they aren't rock solid, and once the ship starts taking on some water will the youngers be able to A) plug the leaks or B) panic and go Oh me, oh my! It could easily be B if they haven't had any adversity early in the year. A little doubt can blossom into a raging infection. Time will tell.

Or it's reason for optimism for Lucia. MN pretty much gets outplayed and guts out 3 points.

As you said, time will tell.

Sharpen you skates they're playing hockey in hell, THETRIOUXPER just gave credit to MN. :0

  2. He did. I saw him play a few times when I lived in St. Paul, and again on the elite teams. His only downside is his size, he needed to hit the weights. He played in Lincoln the past two years, last I checked he appeared to be progressing. Not sure what his final stats were last season. I hope the Gophers play Tech at home this year, it will be entertaining seeing Woog trying to pronounce his last name.

Woog has no shot. :D BTW - FSN is broadcasting all four MTU games this year.

  3. I think Michigan Tech landed the best offensive d-man of all the incoming freshman. Eli Vi(his last name is about 25 letters and I am not going to attempt to spell it), played for a bad HS team in the Cities, and was overlooked by everyone but Tech. He is a very talented player and IMO the best player Tech has picked up in years.

Did he play at St. Bernards/St. Agnes?

I think I saw him play a couple times early in his HS career and he could be very good.

  4. Wasn't there a cheerleader's mom in Texas that tried to kill one of her daughter's competitors for a place on the squad? Wacky parents are everywhere and in every sport and activity.

  5. Absurd. How does USA Hockey intend to enforce this rule? There is no way they can send a representative to all the different rinks where teams practice. I suppose that the only real way they can enforce it is by not providing insurance coverage if a coach cracks his head during practice and was not wearing a helmet. Jloos I think you have hit the nail on the head.

Associations are going to have to police it & I imagine it will part of the insurance coverage all players & coaches are elible for under USA hockey. It's going to be very difficult to enforce unless there is an injury.
