I think one trump card the NC$$ has is the availability of facilities if they were to award top seeds regionals. I'll use this example. Ohio State lights the Big Ten on fire next year, and gets to host a regional. Well....guess that regional isn't going to be in Columbus because the hockey lovers that they are in Columbus booked away their facility. Are you really going to play that regional in the practice rink?
Hell, I had a great time watching Holy Cross (or Sacred Heart if you ask my dad) beat Minnesota. But had Minnesota won that game, and played UND at the Ralph it wouldn't have been fair to them, the #1 seed. (See UND-Mich 1998, MafiaMan invokes camera man incident).
Obviously the answer isn't hosting a regional in St. Louis (See BC-Michigan-CC-UNO).
I'm not sure what the answer is......
The only answer I know is that I won't miss a Hoggsbreath event. I am starting to understand these punch lines at MafiaMan and others. I blame him for us not repeating in 1998. 2 minutes for taunting ESPN!

We played like garbage. Simple as that.
And yet we were still leading with 8 minutes to go.
This team was what it was: Inconsistent.
Our fans are what they are: Passionate and bi-polar. All at the same time.
Jesus, this is just a game. We are just fans.

Rowney Parks Mark Mac OD and Rocco to an extent really didn't elevate their play down the stretch. 5 of your top 7 forwards basic did little over the last month. Smoke and mirrors doesn't but it.
I agree....not gonna go very far when we rely on 2 guys to carry the team.
Did not get enough out of Parks, Mark McMillan, Rowney this year consistently, if at all.

After visiting w Mafia I'm now even more disappointed I missed the brunch.
I agree...I don't get to post as much as I used to b/c of 2 little ones, but I have been to the Final 5 the last 5-6 years and am disappointed in myself that this was my 1st Hoggsbreath brunch attended.
The stories alone made my journey. And finding out that Wilbur is not old enough for social security yet despite what his posts appear like.

I'd take that bet......a determined team playing inspired for a living legends playoff streak....vs a team locked into a 1 seed.
Miami is not locked into a #1 seed yet.

All I know is that if Michigan runs the table and wins their tourney, there is going to be one very pissed Gopher hockey team on Sunday night.

Looking at the numbers that you graciously compiled, it basically looks like Wisconsin has to run the table to make the tourney. Anyway of knowing now how much that loss to Penn St. hurt them in the rankings?

this team is jekyll and hyde this second half-crap game friday night and good game saturday night. play like that will get you bounced in the first round. if the team that showed up last night shows up every night the rest of the way then we might have some bright things to look forward to.
Could always hope for a Saturday-Sunday regional. Cure all your worries.;-)

Interesting that the fourth line that was amazing against UNO has been split up. Just the General left.
Coaches must feel he is valuable since he is centering a line with 2 quick/semi-skilled players. The general does not seem to fit with those guys on paper

It's on root sports. Midco does not carry root sports, only dish and directv do.
Therefore, the game is only on directv and dish. Not midco.

I would guess Luke is reaping the benefits of a lot of hard work and time developing connections when he was a coach in Illinois.
Does his relatively young age have an effect on these recruits? Maybe he can relate to the recruits better than a 40-50 year old can.

I have Charter Communications in MN and Channel 87 (CHXMN) usually shows SCSU home hockey games. There is a hockey game on the schedule at 7pm tonight, but it doesn't show which teams are playing. I believe there is a good chance it is UND-SCSU. We were at the game last night so I don't know if that game was telecast last night.
It was on that channel last night.
