  1. Yes, and isn't that the coaches job? Top BB coaches do not tolerate this erratic play for very long.

What do you want Jones to do? He can't fire or replace the player's as the season goes on.

The coaches can preach until they are blue in the face to the players.

  2. As a donor and alum, I think that is unfortunate. Faison has to quit being the nice old guy and find a young talented BB coach for this program. It ain't Jones.

This team is one that rebounded to beat SDSU at home pretty handily after getting pumped on the road. That same SDSU team went out to U. of Washington and beat a Pac-12 team by 20 on their home floor.

This team needs to get rid of its Jekyl and Hyde mentality and bring it every night.

  3. I'm beginning to wonder now if UND can make the second half surge they're accustomed too. Obviously they'll improve, but looking at the roster this team just doesn't even compare to any of Haks past teams in talent. Even with Grimaldi in the lineup I don't think this team would be good enough for a top 4 spot in the WCHA. With a fully healthy lineup I would probably put them in the 4-7 range. They're not as good as Minnesota, or Duluth in my opinion. Anyone who has watched Duluth this year knows what I mean. We'll find out if they can compete with CC this weekend and then I'm not sure they are as good as Denver either.

Only time will tell, but I just can't see the second half surge happening, at least not as much of a surge as fans are used too, i.e. - 10+ game unbeaten streaks.

Duluth has currently swept the #9, 10, and 12th teams(all at home) in this league and taken 3 points from a Denver team that has been all over the map(beat BC, 1 point vs. Michigan Tech). They have looked extremely good at times that I watched them, but am not sure if it's the competition, home ice(10 of 14 games have been at Amsoil), or if they really are a top 5 team in the country.

So, they've managed to do what they're supposed to do for the most part: Sweep at home(minus MN), Split on the road(3 pts. vs Denver).

  4. What team usually wins when they go 0-6 on the PP especially when one was a 5 minute major? The team looked sluggish on Sunday. They were getting out hustled by the Beavers. It seems like they have been getting out shot by every team too. Maybe we should take a pointer from the MN Wild coach Mike Yeo and shoot more. You can score if you don't shoot!

    Go SIOUX!!

Not only 0-6 on the PP, but they had 9 minutes of PP time in the first 12-13 minutes of the 3rd period alone.

  5. Can anyone explain to me why they waved off the icing call on BSU when we had Dell pulled?

From where we were sitting in the stands, the guy was on the wrong side of the red line when he shot it and the puck bounced off the outside of the net/post and into the corner. The linesman didn't call off the icing until after it bounced off the outside of the net and into the corner.

Eades/Jackson were blowing gasket after gasket at the non-call.

  6. I remember when i watched the Bemidji games on Midco last year I felt like a 12 year old watching cinemax. It was very blurry and every now and then you saw the puck. I dont know why it was so bad for me, but others seemed to get it just fine

That's an easy answer: You're a Gopher Fan.

We can selectively pick which houses to make the picture better/worse for.

  7. Half an ounce? Big bust there.

Did you read the whole article?

"During the initial sweep of the house, officers saw multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia in plain view. They confiscated half an ounce of marijuana, several pipes, baggies, a marijuana grinder and a digital scale in Miller’s room.

Miller was read his Miranda rights and agreed to an interview, during which he told police that he sold marijuana and where they could find drugs and paraphernalia in his room, police documents say."

Here's how I read it. They found 1/2 an ounce in plain view, arrested the kid, who in turn agreed to be interviewed. During that interview, he tells them where to find more drugs and paraphernalia in his room.

How many ounces have to be found/confiscated to make the search warrant worth it?

  8. I notice you guys are awfully quiet tonight.

"God's team" (ironic considering the religious nuts on your team) beat bucky 4-1 tonight.

Much better than your squad managed in Madison.

Thoughts? I'll hang up and listen.

"God's team" must have done more praying after losing last night huh? Maybe, just maybe, that extra praying that "God's team" did paid off when they got that joke of a 5 minute PP to end the 2nd period.

Besides, who knew being religious is a bad thing? Never figured out why people have to mock others who are religious.

  9. Well this quote from Gophers captain Taylor Matson about explains this series.

“It’s going to be a bloodbath out there, and we’re just looking forward to it,” Matson said. “It’s just something when you’re skating around in warm-ups and you’re looking over at them and they’ve got the green — we’re just out to kill this year.”

Was that the Gopher's captain speaking or John Hill with the cameo quote?

  10. who have we beatin in the wcha this year?

lets face it.... we are down this year.... accept it

take off the green shades please and put down the kool aid cup

I never said we weren't down this year.

I said comparing Omaha and UND was a dumb comparison and not easy to do. I was pointing out how crazy the league results have been this year so far.

  11. I am probably gunna get bashed by this but this is for all the blais haters. who think think hak>blais

whose team came back from 3-0 deficit in a the other teams barnwhich just swept us last weekend?

whose team is 3-0 in conference play?

i think haks a good coach.just not as goodas some peopel make him out to be.

he will never be the riverboat gambler

Were the Sioux playing in Madison last night with a different coach? If so, who was playing at The Ralph?

Did you watch the Omaha-Wisconsin game last night? I did.

It was a different coach and a different team playing in Madison last night. THey won a game by going 4-for-6 on the PP. We went 0-fer in ours. There's one difference.

Watching the game, the Omaha goalie looked lost out there for the first 10 minutes and in turn gave up 3 goals. Obviously, he settled down.

So far, Tech has beaten Denver and Wisconsin. Bemidji beat Tech. Duluth beat Bemidji. Minnesota beat Duluth. Wisconsin beat us. Omaha beat Wisconsin and Alaska. Alaska beat Omaha.

What's it all mean? I haven't a slightest clue yet. We're 3 games into the conference schedule.

  12. This seems to be an issue that a compliance officer at UND should have picked up.

I wonder if he will stay at the university of north dakota. sometimes it's very difficult for kids to realize they will still improve without game time.

Besides going to Canada, he doesn't have many other options.

Even at that, he's 1/2 way through his first semester of college. Not worth leaving at this point. And since he's not technically on the team, he must be paying his own way somehow.

I'd say this: Figure out this transcript debacle, pad his college GPA, work his tail off in the weight room, and come out guns blazing next year.

Hopefully, this situation will make him better in the end.

  13. I will absolutely agree with you on that. None of the rest of it bothers me - pump your fist, slam into the boards, slide you hand on the ice. But I don't like the jersey pop - too NBA for me.

    Simple Solution:

Don't let the other team score.

    Problem Solved.

  14. Vis Schlossman on twitter

Sigh. It would be really nice to get Grimaldi in the lineup this weekend so he can get a little game time before the team heads to Mariucci.

He may not make that series either if this keeps up.

Which makes him playing in the BC game all the more alarming. What was he doing out there if he wasn't 100%? I know it's BC, but it wasn't a must-win game by any means.

I wonder if by playing in that game he had any additional set backs?

  15. No problem pal. I've brought us the same amount of National Championships as Hakstol has. And I'm doing it for FREE. He has had the most talent in the last decade than any other team in the country and still has produced SQUAT.

You "happy to be there" fans can take all of your frozen four "appearances". I've been a UND hockey fan for 2 decades and expect NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS from a program with the history that UND has.

Hakstol CHOKES time and time again and gets outcoached by Hockey East time and time again. We don't need to pay a coach an arm and a leg to do that.

So again, my "resume" for you includes ZERO National Championships. The same that our overrated coach has. Good enough for ya?

You've been a fan of the team for 2 decades? Congrats.

How come, then, do you sell so many tickets on the forum for over face value to other Sioux fans? Yep, you're a true fan alright.

I know the answer. You're one of those fans. Every team has them. The experts, who bitch and complain on a message board or anywhere else for that matter when the team is not perfect.

I'm ecstatic that you sell your tickets to people that truly want to go to the game.

  16. Eades was evidently adamant about something, Hennessy is not sure about what...All four officials are currently discussing it. Not using video at the moment.

This is what Schlossman said regarding the play that led to Wisconsin's 3rd goal:

The UND bench wanted a too many on ice call. After a lengthy discussion, the referees allowed the goal.

  17. "UND spokesman Peter Johnson said President Robert Kelley recently decided to take the focus off Delano as a way of highlighting other students and fans at home games

    .

But he said the main reason is to not feed into the reputation the university has gained from recent national rankings as a school with a high rate of student drinking."

Does anyone that watches the games on TV know if they show this lady on the TV? I only remember seeing her on the in-house screens.

If so, how is anyone that is watching our games on national TV being turned off by our rankings in some silly survey. The people at the games already know what goes on on campus for the most part. It's not like we're opening their eyes to something new here.

IMO the only reason we are ranked so high in this survey is because midwestern people are more honest on the anonymous polls than other places in the country. I remember filling out this survey and almost being proud that I was so effecient in drinking to pull off the grades I received.
