  1. Yes I did give him his handle Mr Media and it was out of frustration of seeing his name on this board all too often. I don't think most of the Sioux faithful bring him up anymore. Rather, it seems like every time we try to discuss Toews in any way some Skippy pops in here and inserts his name and the fight is on. I would offer that the Skippies are truly concerned over what this years recruiting class will become and are paying especially close attention to Toews (which they should). They realize that more good old Gopher @#$-kickings are close at hand.
  2. It is a fact. http://www.trfhockey.com/index1.htm
  3. For anyone who is interested in making the trip (I'll bet one Sioux coach will be there) the Tier two prospects game will be played in Yorkton SK on 7 Dec. Unfortunately some of the players listed are already spoken for http://yorktonterriers.com/prospectsgame/
  4. If that is a stick and it is inserted where I think it is I think we now know why she is called meanegirl.
  5. Personally, I have no problem with the MN dream. I would rather that UND attract the players who dream of playing the NHL. A loftier goal leads to loftier play, unless of course your main goal in life is to get into drinking establishments in the big city for free.
  6. Well if you would like even more reason to question their coach I also recall that in a USCHO article there was speculation that he deliberately picked the 14 day suspension in order to have Scott back for the UND series.
  7. During the summer the report was that he drank a few too many wobbly pops got mad at some poor little student that cut him off and rammed him with his own vehicle. Several Thousand dollars in damage later the police show up, and he is probably lucky to take the ice again after what I believe was a 14 game suspension. I found the link and I was pretty close to real story. http://www.mtulode.com/index.php?issuedate...n=12&artid=4368
  8. I'll have to hook up the laptop so I have their picture with the TH broadcast. An additional thought on the series. Given that this is Scott's first game back from his suspension I suspect he will keep the penalty box warm, and based on some his borderline hits last season watch for an early shower for a hit from behind.
  9. I agree that is a tough one but I could never cheer for the Goofs
  10. Not much interest in Kettles that have been left on the stove too long on this site but if you want to talk about the subject of this chat a classy two way forward named Toews then join on in.
  11. This weekend helped confirm what we all suspected that Bucky is the team to beat. Each WCHA team that has won the NCAA the past several years has had a solid D that plays mistake free hockey and keeps them in a close game. At the moment they are that team. Also, even though I place him in the typical Eaves dirty player category, Burrish is an incredible shot blocker. Our young players will have to develop their games quickly if we hope to challenge them at the end of the season.
  12. Some programs have the luxury of post season play on a regular basis and take it for granted. Those who are old enough to have witnessed the Bjorkman years with UND understand and appreciate how special it is when a program turns things around and finally has the season you hoped for. Whichever bowl it is I hope Rutgers wins and a nice big trophy gets added to your sports hall.
  13. Is that the one that will serve your beer in a KFC bucket
  14. Perhaps the coaching staff needs to keep an eye on the Central Junior League in Ontario as well. St Cloud just landed a good one in Lasch from the Pembroke Lumber Kings, he has 60 points in just 26 games. My pick for the Diamond in the rough is the 6'7" D man with the Hawkesbury Hawks, Benoit Gravel.
  15. As difficult as it is to say I think Wisconsin will go 2-0 and I agee with Michigan State 0-2. The latter has a bunch of injuries and they are playing poorly too.
  16. I am not suggesting any what if's, merely stating reality. There is just too much talent that will all have at least one year of experience under its belt to add anyone else. Which is why I think a two way player like Chay Genoway was the only way to go. He provides the extra insurance both ways for a team that should lose very few of its players next year. I should have added that he will play every night with BU which if he wants a fast track to the NHL will likely serve him better.
  17. Well if Bina comes back and Gryba is the Freshman who would sit on a nightly basis then.
  18. He probably realizes he wouldn't get alot of playing time with next years Sioux D. At least he didn't go to another WCHA team.
  19. That is a very good guess then because it is correct.
  20. You are correct, My bad.
  21. The info regarding the draft is for the most part correct as most of the time it is 18 year olds. However, every so often a college player who was overlooked as an 18 year old but turns in a banner season while in college is drafted so that a team can own his rights following college. The most recent example is Paul Stastny of Denver.
  22. For those who are familiar with Forney, please let us know a bit about his strengths and what type of player he will be. Thanks in advance
  23. Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Here's hoping that Bochenski gets recalled real soon so I can watch him go head to head with Parise.
  24. The only obscenity that was audible on the Dataflix transmission of the Channel 8 feed over the weekend came from the mouth of none other than the DU coach as he berated a line coming off the ice. The commentators stated "Oh well live television what are you going to do".
  25. I agree but I believe that Wisconsins drop from the Sioux fan radar over the past several years is only temporary at best. We may get to rekindle the old feelings by the end of this season.
