  1. UND is playing better, but the guys need to find their timing and chemistry and I don't see that happening in the break between periods. In the long run this team will do well, but it will take some work and time.
  2. While the game tonight wasn't pretty, I don't think its any reason to panic. First, its early and it was obvious that UND lacked any significant chemistry. That will come in time. Second, BU is going to be an elite team this year, they will have a better record than BU, especially if their goalies keeps playing like he did tonight. Lastly, BU plays a similar style to BC and no offense to Hak, but he just doesn't seem to have the answer for a fast team that plays a physical trap style..... maybe before the year is out he will figure out how to defeat it. On the positive side (sort of) I thought the 4th line was the best line tonight, which is an indication on how well rounded this team will be by the end of the year. Just give them some time.......
  3. I'll agree, between the poor video quality and the fact that the announcers' voices are monotone and their quality of commentary sucks, makes the $8 not worth it. I should have stuck to the audio. A few of the D look a little shaky at times, otherwise I think UND is outplaying them and they will come back.
  4. I give up, let me know if it starts to work the right way, otherwise I will just stick with the audio and they can have my $8.
  5. I officially hate BU now, they broke my heart and stole my $8
  6. I sure am glad I paid eight bucks for the womens game......(sarcasm)
  7. I still have the women's feed!!!!!!!!!!!! Anybody get it to switch yet?
  8. I was scanning the BU website for the live video feed and noticed that they will actually air all 4 games from the tournament this weekend. So, while it is $9.95/month, realistically we are only paying $2.50/game for the UND games this weekend, which to me justifies the purchase even more. Hopefully the feed is worth it.
  9. While I am sure this makes Hak's decision process easier and it will be beneficial to Toews in the long run, I was still excited to see what he could do at the college level. Guess we will have to wait yet another week to see him in action (knock on wood).
  10. Anyone been able to follow Spirko since he left?? How has is play been??
  11. I watched the Pens vs. Sens game yesterday and was really pleased with the performance I saw from Brian Lee. The announcers were also pleased and had many good things to say about him. He will most likely only get better as the year progresses and should have good numbers.
  12. I thought the combo of Watkins, VV, and Duncan worked much better for the little time they were together. I like Watkins and VV working hard in the corners, drawing the attention of the other teams, leaving Duncan open for a clean shot or some more rebound goals. Miller, while I liked him on point during the PP, is not a first line guy, especially not with Duncan and VV. The Trupp, Kozek, and Gregoire line is going to be dangerous, they already had pretty good chemistry, they will have their own nickname by the end of the season, watch out DOT, here comes..................................
  13. I don't know enough about UMass to make any predictions, but I will say that BU is going to be a really tough test. They have some outstanding returning talent and probably one of the best sophmores in the country in Colin Wilson. I know it will be early, but if UND can perform well against BU, it will be a sign of great things to come!
  14. I am only 30 and I got it, maybe I didn't appreciate it as much as I should of, but I definitely got it
  15. Gregoire did an excellent job not only on the goal but on the interview. He was very poised and well spoken, pretty good for his first interview at UND, but I am sure there will be many more to come, he should be a hell of a player!
  16. Anybody else having problems connecting to the audio broadcast on siouxxtra??
  17. Its on the archive of the Sioux Xtra program. I am not sure if you need a subscription to listen, my account from last year was still good so I used that. Its in the same location for watching the FSSN games online as part of the membership. I don't know if its posted anywhere else. http://fightingsioux.xosn.com
  18. Just listened to parts of the coaches show online and towards the end Dane Jackson says that we will get a look at everyone this weekend. He said it will be tough giving anyone alot of time, but that we should get a chance to see everyone. So sounds like everyone dresses and playing time will be decided by individual and team performance during the game. Can't Wait!!!!
  19. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Hak sit a couple of the known starters to give all of the new forwards a look in game situations. I mean, the worst that can happen is they don't end up winning and those people who already hate UND, just have some more fodder for the fire. We all know what Duncan, Kozek, etc. can do, I would like to see how all the new guys perform and you would think it would give Hak a better idea of who to start out on the East coast.
  20. If it wasn't clear before, last year made it quite obvious, Western College Hockey is against UND and ALL of its players. I am not sure who runs that blog or where they are from, but it is clear that they do not like UND and have it out for them and their players. For a blog that I once appreciated and thought provided good, accurate, no-biased information, last year was an eye-opener and I know take anything I read from it with a grain of salt. Still some good news, but its tainted with blatant hate.
  21. I won't even try to venture a guess as to what the line combinations will be, especially when you factor in Hak's love to switch things up. The one thing I do disagree with though is the fact that Martens is put with the checking line. He is not that style of player and while I really wouldn't be saddened if his role was diminished, I don't think you put him on a checking line when the lineup is already full of guys who would be better at it. Also, look for Lamoureaux to displace Hextall and I would not bench Malone either. Any way you slice it, there should be alot of great possible combos out there.
  22. Remember that the coaches themselves said that Davidson was coming in as a 'project' player, meaning that he needed alot of work. I am not trying to be completely negative, but to jump from most improved player to team star is quite a stretch. From the play I witness of him last year, I would say he needed to make some extremely large strides to get consistent ice time this year. That being said, there were several players last year that left something to be desired, so between freshmen and lackluster upper classmen, Davidson may find himself a starting role, but I think comparisons to Penner should wait awhile.
  23. I am not trying to say you are wrong, but I think we should probably not worry about it until we see Kristo play at the WCHA level. Given Montreal's depth right now and the fact that Kristo has yet to prove himself at the college level, he could stick around for awhile. I'm trying to be optimistic rather than pessimistic.
  24. I am not sure what year he would come, I read that he was a 92 birth date, but I guess he could still have a 2-3 year window depending on how he progresses.
  25. Hopefully the Forbort verbal turns out to be true, he had been consistently rated in the Top 15 prospects for his age bracket the last year or so. Great pickup if it pans out.
