Ridin' the "Stacsh" to Denver T-Shirts
Just Curious replied to remington_270's topic in Men's Hockey
Since this forum is related to the "Stacsh", I was just curious to know if anybody knew why Oshie didn't have one??? I mean I know there are differences in ability, but during the interviews on ESPNU, he looked almost clean shaven................................. Maybe it looked so bad he decided to spare the rest of us from seeing it. -
I got the feed from ESPNU to work using Sopcast. I used Red Frog's original directions from the NCAA Tourney Scores forum (page 18). Right now they are replaying the WI and DU game. I am hoping that the feed will stay up and is the right one for the game.

Thanks for the info sprig.

Does anyone know why Gregoire missed Saturday's game last weekend? I am pretty sure he was in the lineup on Friday, Saturday he was missing from the lineup. I hope its not another injury.

I will admit that Miller has stepped up his game lately, but I like Kozek's physical presence along with Oshie and Duncan. I think Kozek is the best fit with those two, Miller is doing ok, but seems to shy away from physical contact, and the other two seem to use their physical nature to help their game. I will again defer to Hak, but I thought that Kozek is better served playing on the 1st line, and could do the most good for the team. The question also remains, if Trupp is ready to go this weekend, who sits??

Not sure if this was posted already, but the USHL had an articale on Feinhage: http://www.thisweek-online.com/2008/March/20fienhage.html "His long-term plans postgraduation include playing for the University of North Dakota in 2008 or 2009.

I am just sorry that St. Louis won't make the playoffs, then we could watch TJ even longer after UND wins their National Championship. I think Oshie will make an immediate impact in the NHL. He will make his linemates better and with the reduction of the clutching and grabbing, we will be able to see him use a larger portion of his skill. I think playing in the WCHA has kept Oshie in check, by that I mean it has tested him more than other leagues, but also in that the increased physicality of the league has kept him from really being able to have room to work his magic.

I would like to echo AZSIOUX's comments. There have already been some signings this year that don't really make sense. Look at the early departures outside of the WCHA this year and ask yourself why they were signed. It is both draftees and unsigned guys who have left either midseason or over the last couple of weeks. Most of them didn't have any of the stats near to even the mid-level guys in the wcha, needless to say they are gone. It should be a very interesting off season, more so than usual I think.

Kozek is an Atlanta prospect right? You would have to think that if they offered, that Kozek might realize that next year he might not have the set up guys around to help him get opportunities to let that wrister go.... I have always liked the way Kozek played and knew he would find his scoring touch at some point, now that he has had a good season, it might be too much of a good offer for him to pass up. This goes for alot of the guys I think if TJ and Duncan go, this group of juniors might be set up like dominoes, if one or two go, then more will follow. We can only hope that the NHL will not try to steal too many of the boys.

Again with Bruneteau missing so much time this year (close to 2 months), it may be that the coaching staff asks him to defer another year, depending on who departs. They could also bring him in under the knowledge that he might not see alot of ice time.

Gregoire with a hat trick last night in Lincoln's 5-4 SO loss to Omaha. He had 9 shots on goal and was a +2, the only thing he didn't do was score during the shootout.

Exactly (referring to TNT's statement)! How many people, even fans here, said that UND would be less without JPAR and that Lammy could not carry the load? To make a comment that Walski is and always will be a 3rd string goalie is a fairly unintelligent comment. Obviously he beat out Grieco for the #2 spot (whether that was injury related or not, we won't ever really know). And if Hak was secure enough to pull Lammy for a game, even if it was against BSU, than the team probably sees something that most of us don't. Honestly neither move would surprise me, but I just think people should keep an open mind about Walski and have faith in the coaching staff. If they bring someone in fine, if they rely on Walski, I for one will not panic.
-
My point wasn't to criticize, it just goes along with what else was posted. I am not sure UND would go out and look for a mediocre 08 goalie just for the sake of having another goalie. I realize that Walski as a starter is a long shot, but so is relying on two freshmen goalies to backstop the team. I will say that I think there are some under-rated goal tenders available for 08 or 09, but I couldn't say what Hak and Co. are thinking. As always I defer to the coaches wisdom as I am just an opinionated fan.
-
Also, I wouldn't write Walski off too soon. Hakstol has obviously been impressed with the amount of work he put into this year, enough to take a start away from Lammy. So, next year I could see them letting Walski and Eidsness battle out for top spot. I know that Hak and company have stated that they are looking to bring in another goalie, but with Walski's performance, maybe they have changed their mind. I would look for another goalie recruit in 09-10.

I saw that Bruneteau was in the lineup at least Friday night. Glad to see him back on the ice.
-
I was hoping that we would get to see Forney in action, but I guess Davidson's size might be a bigger asset vs BSU

Any additional hints and/or info on the league or birth year of this yet to be announced recruit?

Anyone else having problems with the internet feed tonight?

Does anyone know if we are looking at any of the uncommitted MN Mr. Hockey finalists. I noticed that there are 3 of them that have not committed yet, including Lehrke, who is supposed to be the scoring leader? Also, has Joe Phillippi committed anywhere, I just saw he won the oustanding MN goaltender award but had not heard much of him before that? I am just surprised that much MN talent is still undecided, but then again I may not know the whole story.

Tough break, just as he was getting back into swing from the last time he missed. Well, I hope he recovers and is back soon putting up points.

Anyone know why Gregoire was not in the lineup last night for Lincoln?
-
This may have already been posted some where, but here is a Q & A with Gregoire. http://www.lincolnstars.com/pdfDocs/QAwithJasonGregoire.pdf

Do you think maybe the Wheeler debate and other factoids should be moved to their own thread, so people don't have to keep searching for information that is actually on prospective sioux recruits.

Des Moines now has him listed as in the IR on its website, the first month or so he was still listed as active. I would think that as the 2 month mark rolls around it may be discussed that he delay his coming another year. Hopefully it's not so bad that his career gets cut short.

With Bruneteau missing over a month of hockey lately, do you think there is a chance he will delay a here and try to get healthy?
