I had the privilege of watching JP at the old Met when I was a kid. He and Goldy were my favorites back then. And of course the maskless Gump too. No doubt where Zach got his work ethic. JP never took a shift off either.

Had holding been called, it would have put Cowboys in 4th and 16 on Detroit side of the field. Dallas would have punted and Detroit still would have the lead. One person said that this is "even worse than the PI call/no call."

Zach Parise out of lineup tonight for personal reasons. JP could be on his last leg. Sad deal.

No kidding. It's the process of how the flag was picked up is fishy. How the hell does the head ref announce pass interference and first down Detroit and then overturn it? Then not to flag Bryant for running on the field with no helmet is just icing on the cake.

FOX's refereeing expert Mike Pereira called it a clear penalty: The referee, Pete Morelli, announced the 15-yard pass interference penalty to the crowd, giving Detroit a first down deep in Dallas territory. "Pass interference, 59, defense, automatic first down," you can hear Morelli say on the broadcast. Moments later, Morelli announced that there was no penalty. The flag was picked up.
