    Mankato vs UMTC

    There is no way that Wheeler did that on purpose since he was checked into the mankato goalie. I do think the refs were wroing in not giving Peltier and the mankato players third man in penalties. I also believe that the refs did lose control of this game. Also, Wooger said that coaches were not happy with the quality of officiating on Friday night.

    It sure looks to me like he makes a last ditch effort to make contact with the goalie. Not intentenally to injure, but to make contact. The MSU player checked Wheeler away from the goalie, not into him. It was Wheelers effort that made him hit the goalie.

    That game looked like one of the better barnburners in the WCHA this year. Would have been a blast to be a fan of either team, or WCHA hockey generally, in the seats of The John last night. 'Kato goes up 3-0. Imagine that fun for the Maverick fans in attendance. Then, Hack Wheeler runs the goaltender, fights break out, 'Kato's tender is bleeding profusely from a cut wrist tendon, and a new goalie comes in. Of course, Lucia and the Gopher fans are crying to high heaven by now to the refs in classic form that only the High Criers at Mariucci can muster. Gophers go on to score five straight power play goals (did a call come in from the league office at the period break?) to take a 5-3 lead. The Rouser must have been rocking. At least alot more so than it was last November when Wisconsin was drilling the Gophers twice at home. Funny how the rabidity in the Mariucci Rouser will wax and wane depending on the scoreboard.

    The Mavericks showed the gonads to come back and score two in the last ten minutes, getting the tiebreaker with under a minute to go. Slam. Shut. The hind end holes of nine thousand Gopher fans. Love that sound.

    Anyway, WCHA games are always fun. That 5-5 OT tie last night had to have been a true fan's pleasure.

    I went to the game last night and it was a blast to see the Mavs up and keeping it close. I was expecting to see a blow out and got my moneys worth out of this thriller. And it was fun to yell HO-LY-CROSS going into overtime. Maybe the gophs had flash backs when they saw the purple jerseys.

    I think wheeler used the contact by the Mavs as an excuse to jump feet first at the Goalie. The Gophs are running down goalies this year. But I am an addicted Sioux hockey fan so...

    We will have our hands full in Minneapolis in January, especially if we take penalties.

    9:00 am tomorrow. My bags are packed. I feel like driving tonite, that's how wired I am right now.

    I didn't have time to read this whole thing but....Does anyone want to watch the other Regionals? I'd like to catch the CC game on Sat.

    Italian Moon doesn't have a shuttle but El Roco, Rumors, SouthGate, Whitey's, Dagwoods, Parot's Kay, and of course the ones from the parking lot off University and Columbia Road.

    Where is this tailgating going to be? What's the forecast?

    I would like to watch the other games also. Is basketball still going on then? If so, is there a bar in GF that would likely put the other hockey games on, instead of BB?

    Next year will be rough for everyone. St Patty's day on Sat. Game on Sunday. Lotsa headaches that day.

    Is everyone ok with this rink, or should I look for a different one?

    It would be nice to have a different rink, ie one in a better part of town and one with some restaurants near by. Plymouth, St Louis Park, others...

    a 60 minute game would be good too, instead of the full 90. I barely made it thru drinking at 5 WCHA games, and then to get up on Sunday and skate for 90 was a lot.

    It is the SW entrance as I said above, so down by 106-108. And the Box Office is at the SE entrance by the Hockey Lodge<>Green box. And the WCHA Jersey wall is by that telephone by the Food and Beverage stand...beer :lol:

    Sounds like behind sections 106-108. I think there is food, a beer stand, and a men's beer recycling center all right in that area. (Not 100% about this.)

    Are Sioux fans a lot less thirsty now? I thought I'd find at least a few that would take me up on my offer. Maybe my reputation preceeds me - still, a FREE BEER - I'd almost be willing to stand anybody long enough to choke down a FREE BEER!

    I was just waiting until Friday to show up. I didn't know we had to RSVP.

    Any one going to pre-game tonight? I was thinking of hitting Tom Reids.

    If you are up for excitement I would go with something like:

    "Intermission Entertainment Provided By Tyler Hirsch"

    Then sit near the Goofer parents section like CVCL did last year. He barely got out of the X alive.

    Stafford's Injury

    I've heard from credible sources (cough DS) recently that there's been a lot of in-fighting in the men's locker room, mostly centered around stafford.

    I think the "Injury" is BS, and he has taken himself off the team for the season, ready to sign with Buffalo.

    I know I'm about to get flamed, but we'll all just have to wait and see.

    What are you smoking? I was sitting next a credible sources' dad (cough) when the injury happend. The injury is real.

    Sunday game at Sensors in Bloomington

    Ok, I have to work until 7, but I work fairly close to Senser's, so I should be there around 7:20-7:30. I'm calling Senser's this afternoon to see if they're showing the Sioux and Bulldogs games. If they aren't, of course, I won't go. Otherwise, save me three seats!

    MM, I'll PM you my cell in case we need to be in contact. I still have yours.

    I say wait until later this evening and see who responds on here and would like to be part of our group. Make sense? I'm in for both evenings.

    I'm in for both nights also. You will have no problems filling up a table. Just call Sensers Bloomington and tell them you will have 8-10 people and want a good location in front of one of the Sioux screens.

    Mafia- If possible, I would like to pick up your jerseys for the SiouxSports Final5 hockey game.

    Yes! One of their best games of the year. I went to the Bloomington location as usual. There were more Sioux fans there for last nights game, then there has been all year.

    Not sure what all the confusion was about the game being picked up in the bars. Must have been that the game would not be on the FSSN satelite nationally, but could be seen locally in GF and nationally on Fox.
