  1. Just one question, since I'm heading to NYC for Spring Break...

Will Sensers be carrying the games?  Saturday night in particular.  I can go to the Friday game, because I'm not leaving for the cities until Saturday morning.

Yes, Sensors will have the games if it is on the FSSN. CheeseMover will most likely give us an update sometime this week.

  2. Would everyone (regardless of who you cheer for) please quit attacking other people personally and instead stick to discussing the thread topics. Fans of other teams are quite welcome here to discuss UND athletics (even negatively); however, feeding the genuine trolls plays right into their hands by making the board about them and their topic instead of about UND hockey.

    THANK YOU!!!

I for one am sick of the grade school name calling and bickering.

  3. I am looking to make my own grinders at home since I don't live in GF and dont want to spend $25 on overnight delivery. Below is my best shot at what the ingredients are. Any one know for sure what is in white sauce, type of cheese, and if the taco meat is just hamburger (because it doesn't look like meat) with seasoning ?

White Sauce: Mayo, Milk, Black/White Pepper, Salt

    Red Sauce: Runny Red Salsa

Meats: Salami, Turkey, Ham, Taco Meat

Cheese: Processed Swiss "cheese like product" (or Colby)

    Lettuce: Shredded

Buns: 8 Inch white sub buns

[this list will be updated as people make corrections]

  4. Both the UofMN and the UW sites state that their games will be carried on Fox Sports North tonight. Not sure how that is possible. Is there any place that would have the Badger vs Denver game in the Minneapolis area?

  5. A penalty shot is very rare. I am not an officiating rules expert, but this penalty is only called if a player is on a break away and is in the motion of shoting, from a position with high potential of scoring, and is interfered with from behind by a defending player. Usually the penalty is just called for tripping, hooking, or interference, because the player most often did not have a high chance of scoring.

Someone may have a more official definition for you.

  6. The small dishes are NOT going to work reliably this year.  The Ralph satelite guy sent me this:

"After looking into this problem and what is different from last year I

did see one huge difference.  Last year on the adjacent satellites

(Ones just to the Left & Right) there was not any traffic in the space

that was used by UND.  This year there are two full time signals on

both adjacent satellites on the same frequency as what UND uses.  This

will make a huge difference on smaller dishes as they have very poor

    adjacent satellite rejection characteristics."

If you don't want to be disappointed, get a larger dish for the games.  There is no problem with the power from REA.

Stop the madness! Their is no problem with low power from the Ralph. This year, the small dishes are just not going to work. Buy a bigger dish, and stop your frustration. (see my previous post above).

  7. The real bad outcome with this type of situation was with George Pelawa of Bemidji ("the great white shark", Mister Hockey MN 1986, Sioux-to-be with the Hrkac circus), and as some of you may remember he was killed while driving with his brother in an intoxicated state during the first week of college. Quite a loss for Sioux hockey. Something that no one wants to see repeated.

This also reminds me of another college hockey incident. I went to college at the UofM (hate the gophers), and lived in an apartment near campus. One night at a party their was a huge fight where Chris McAlpine of the gophers beat up this guy so bad he permanently lost the hearing in one of his ears, was slightly blinded, and ended up dropping out of school. I was always amazed at how this never made the news, not even the school paper.

  8. Since everyone has been a little tense with the state of Sioux hockey lately, I thought I would introduce you to the newest Fighting Sioux hockey fan. His name is Weston, and he was born on New Years day, and he cant wait to see the Sioux at the WCHA Final5 this spring with his dad.

  9. Just wondering if anyone else tried to watch Friday nights game on the Dataflix webcast? I have used this service a number of times without problems, but on Friday the picture was so blury that I could never make anything out. I could never read the score/time, that is usually viewable.

How did it work for others?

  11. Just watched the 3rd period of the UM vs CC game, and boy was it fun to see some quality play. And even better to see the gophers lose, since the rest of their season is a cake walk. The big sheet of olympic ice really opens up the game for some exciting passing and plays. I think CC also has a big rink, so maybe we can finally see the Sioux do some fast skating this season.

I am as frustrated as the rest of you Sioux fans with this years season, and we are going to get killed next weekend if we dont finally find our speed, teamwork, and goal scoring.
