It sounds like the plan is for Lindberg to come in next year. Has anyone watched him play this year? What type of role could he handle next season at the college level? I have have heard he is a player that doesn’t fill up the stat sheet but is valuable in other ways.

This would track. Zellers is trying to recruit him to UND if you look at the comment section of Fitzhenry’s latest instagram post. -
Carels likes a decent amount of UND hockey’s posts. I did notice he liked a frozen four related post from “uofnorthdakota” last week while it came across my feed. Reschny returning certainly helps UND’s chances with any potential targets. He’s one of the best returning players in the NCAA next season.

Wiebusch is supposedly not going to Wisconsin. Landing spot unknown.
-
If the rumors of Carels to North Dakota rumors are true, this is exactly how I would have imagined the transfer portal going so far. The top pair LHD position is wide open and they do not seem super aggressive to fill it. Strathmann probably sticks around if the plan was for him to be getting top minutes, imo. At the very least, Bryn should be doing due diligence on Harper to see if he would come in after his draft year. UND will be thin at RHD after this season.
-
I agree. I’m not sure what the market will be for blue bloods willing to take him this year. If you have to take him next year, you probably do it. That’s if you know that you will strike out on Carels, DuPont, and Rudolph. Pretty significant drop off between those three and Harper, imo.
-
It looks like UND will be after Harper. Bryn just followed him. Side note, his brother is committed to Michigan.
-
I think there is some steam with Wiebusch to North Dakota. I believe he has followed an account called “nodakhockeynation” today in instagram.
-
Wow. Assuming his decommitment is due to being pushed back, I’m not sure how many open spots those teams have. I believe Michigan and BC are nearly full. This one might be one to watch closely.

It’s worth noting that none of UND’s portal loses so far were Bryn’s recruits besides Engel. He likely wants to bring in his guys. Engel was likely brought in knowing that he will be cut. UND was able to go over the roster limit because Young was a DSA.
-
UND only has Mackenzie and Laurila as LHD next season. I would imagine Boser gets a look. Would probably play a limited role though.

4 forward spots open right now without counting Magnussen. Bemidji circles believe he is headed to UND. I believe 3 defenseman spots are open. -
Saw him wearing a UND hat yesterday
-
Sounds like Kasper Magnussen to North Dakota
-
Tanner Klimpke to the portal. UND committed his brother, Brayden, a couple of months ago.
-
Certainly looks like that is the case.
-
This certainly helps North Dakota’s chances with the remaining top WHL defensemen, especially Carels with Reid being a LHD. I would be a little surprised if none of the remaining WHL defensemen (DuPont, Rudolph, and Carels) committed to Michigan. A lot of teams are starting to fill up and UND clearly has open spots. Ruck twins’ parents follow UND hockey on instagram, which probably means nothing.

Good insight on what to expect in the next couple of weeks. Potential targets as well as potential portal/pro departures. -
Yes but they can have a “do not contact” tag. Most of the top guys know where they are going before they enter and do not want to be contacted by other schools.
-
I doubt Schloss throws his name in that article if he doesn’t know that he will enter. He probably even knows where he is going. The first thing that I thought of when seeing that is that Calgary has a great relationship with Dane and have a ton of respect for North Dakota. It would make a lot of sense.

Rumor within gopher circles is that they are making a push to get him. Tarin Smith, DuPont’s partner in Everett, is a name to watch to Minnesota. There is no reason to believe DuPont is considering any schools other than Denver and Michigan at this point.
